Currently playing the Metroidvania Rabi-Ribi.
Don't let the cutesy cartoony look fool you, the game is pretty challenging with its bosses and they'll manhandle you easily if you're not at the top of your game.

Definitely going to eat my shoe on this one, but I've been pumping hours into Star Wars Battlefront 2. Received it as a gift for the holidays and said fuck it. Shame all of the bad press surrounding it dragged down my initial opinion of the game, because its fun.

Bought Life is Strange (Ep 1-5; Before the Storm is for when a discount happens), Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition (sans the more recent Dragonspear expansion), and Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition (to play before my Torment: Tides of Numenera - hoping surprising content patching happens in that one, but it probably won't).
Earlier in December I bought the earlier Divinity games to try out before Original Sin(s), Alpha Protocol (for early Obsidian experience), Indigo Prophecy (for old laughs), and The Black Watchmen (for curiosity related to Secret World).
And earlier in October I bought all those Shadowrun games.
So I got a lot to do.

Set myself rather minimal budget for the winter sale. Got myself the Deus Ex collection (Going to play Human Revolution and Mankind Divided as never got around to playing those) as well as Life is Strange. Was contemplating on getting Doom instead of those, but wanted to try something bit different.

I intended to buy Senua's Sacrifiece but I ended up with that Divinity 2 game. It has its issues but it's good enough to keep me playing.

Heroes of Dragon Age, the combat is horrible and inconsistent but I like the artwork and collecting heroes. Shadowrun, including Dragonfall. No Hong Kong for Android. Non-mobile games: Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and Wake of the Ravager. Warhammer 2, Skaven(Skrolk) are here to eat your babies!

I was kinda lukewarm on the main story of the Frozen Wilds, but it was still told very well and the characters were likable. Plus the environment is beautiful (which based on the main game, is no surprise) and the sidequests were cool. Didn't really use any of the new weapons apart from the Banuk bows, but I still went through and upgraded all of them with the Oseram chick. It also seems to have addressed some of the animation issues from the main game, which is a good sign for the future.

Ck2: Game of Thrones Mod
Aegon Targaryen the Sixth of his name is losing his mind. Over the white walkers taking over Kings Landing. That was a fail. A very large fail. The King had himself to blame for it though, considering he was too busy conquering Westeros to notice such disruptions
Oh and the concern of screwing Dany (for de heirs) was also on the King's mind. He thought nothing about Jon Snow, considering the bastard was long killed by the white Walkers when they infiltrated Brandon's Wall to get over to Kings landing.
The King was fortunate to have both dragons and a valerian sword however. So retaking the city would be a literal blast, he thought to himself.
He even had an heir at long last, with both the quick and attractive trait.. but unfortunately, he was of very poor though.. Poor Jahearys... Ending up like his predecessor before him, of whom died of a illness. Aegon hoped not.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, finished Human Revolution last weekend and hopped onto this one right afterwards. It's been pretty good, but I've noticed myself getting tired of the multiple ending thing in video games. It often leads me to spoil them game for myself, as I honestly cannot be arsed to replay 90-95% of the game, just to experience that 5-10% of "new content", just to get the ending I wanted to get.
I didn't notice quite this kind of situation in the last game, but in Mankind Divided there's at least one point during the game where you will need to make a "big" decision that will exclude you from another and there are immediate pros and cons to both with apparent effects near the end.
I had to actually take a break from the game, as I got kinda annoyed, I'd want to experience and do both things during same playthrough, but apparently that isn't possible without exploiting a bug that may or may not exist anymore. In games like Mass Effects I somewhat forgave it as there were so many decisions you could do differently, so you could have two or three playthroughs that were largely different.
Wonder if anyone else has gotten tired of these kind of things. I am trying to overcome my annoyance and continue with the game, but I will likely need to open a wiki page or something and see what the impacts are down the line, so I do not need to replay the whole game just to pick the other option. Maybe bit silly way to play for some, but I want my kind of ending and move onto next game on my list.

Currently into Dreamfall chapters, start of book 5, so I guess I'm near the end.
Overall much, much better than previous one. Gameplay is more "smooth" and intuitive, they removed combat and annoying mini games, all the characters are more engaging, better dialogue, good music/voice acting, better camera direction. Levels are more open, like mini open world ( seeing futuristic cyberpunk city is pretty cool). There is some choice and consequence, though nothing really overboard, more a flavor choice for the most part. Only annoying part is occasional back'n'forth run around.
If you're a fan of more modern adventure games, like Life is Strange, but with more control and "immersion" in third person view( or less "book feel" like Telltale games) then this is a must ( though you'll need to go through previous one to understand what's going on).

Keep in mind you're playing Chapters after many substantial updates. My first runthrough was really disappointing in a lot of ways, especially technically, as it felt barely in beta with its issues (among basic ones like framerate).

Started The Witcher 3 and like the graphics, music and Gwent. I do feel as though it is a horse driving simulator, though. How many hours am I going to spend riding back and forth? Currently in Velen and am having trouble working up the enthusiasm to ride to all of the question marks. I like Geralt ok, but I am not really attached to him yet. The dialogue options seem rather limited. I'm at least 20 hours in and have not laughed or cried at anything yet. That floating glowing fetus was . Swimming is fun and the Witcher senses seem to be more judiciously used than the scanner in MEA, or DAI, which I appreciate.

Currently in Velen and am having trouble working up the enthusiasm to ride to all of the question marks. Go to the map screen and deactivate the question marks. Do it now!!! That way, you spend much more attention on actually exploring the beautiful world, rather than just hunting GPS markers all the time. It'll make the game much better, trust me. I am currently playing Far Cry 4, which I got just the other day. Having fun so far. The gameplay is very repetitive and I REALLY wish I could turn off that the enemy tries to recapture my outposts EVERY frigging time I am getting close to one without quicktravel. Also, there are WAY too many wild animals, the aren't a challenge, they are just annoying (especially those goddam eagles). That sucks. But other than that, I am having lot's of fun. What I really like about the Far Cry games is their feel. IMO, it creates a very immersive atmosphere because everything you do feels kinda real. I attribute that mainly to some great work on animations and perspective. Yes, the driving of vehicles is super arcade but just getting into and out of them feels just right. Same goes for the climbing on ropes. The perspective you have and also the parts of your characters body you see when looking around as well as restrictions in how far you can turn the view while doing different things really make it feel like you are actually doing that thing. For example, when you are on a rope but you are right on a rock-face, you can't turn all the way around (because you can't unscrew your head). However, when you push of the wall and you are just dangling on the rope, you can turn in any direction you want. It's little details like this that make the atmosphere for me. The weapons and gunplay also feel great as is typical for FC. Good stuff. Fortunately, it's been a couple of years since I played FC3, since I realize it's exactly the same game with just a visual change but the time was just right to go through this one one now. Oh, and there as well, I turned off seeing all those lootbox locations on the map. Makes the game much more enjoyable and less of an OCD fest for me.
