Some new info from a Polish Q&A. - V’s apartment will look differently based on the Lifepath we chose and it will change in some ways over time. They also included certain mechanics tied to V’s apartment, which will allow us to „express the personality of our V” through it, but it’s something that they want for the players to discover on their own - about sex scenes: they did a lot of mocap for those and they believe that their amount should satisfy everyone, which should calm down anyone who assumed that they will just skip those entirely just because the game is in first person - NPCs will react to V's gender and there are specific quests exclusive to each gender. 1. That'll be interesting. I'm curious to see what differences there will be and how they'll do that. If there isn't a copy of Solo of Fortune or the Blackhand Street Guide for a Solo I am returning the game.

For example, in the rain some people will pull out their umbrellas, while the ones who don’t have those will look for a place to hide from the rain ...What sort of nightmare did they turn Night City into? Umbrellas? Rain? .__. Unless if you are in the city center and corp districts and their outer districts the only rain you should be seeing should be of the acidic variety. I think they said there would be acid rain. But that was a long time ago, who knows what gets implemented.

I just hope that there are romances that either don't involve sex or at least have it be an optional route. 3. That seems to go against what they said earlier. They had mentioned gender having an impact years ago. There's been some pointless controversy regarding transgender but it was clear they were always going to focus on male and female. It's very possible there will be trans characters in the game, but I don't think that extends to V. The most you can do is match a VO to body type.

Where's the marketing? This game release in about 4 months and they are still doing a "world tour" of their E3 demo instead of pumping new stuff?
If I didn't know they were working hard on localization right now, I would think this was getting pushed back to 2021.

Having such an eclectic mix is a great approach. I wonder how many songs a piece they'll end up doing for the game.

Game release in 91 days, that's ~3 months. *croak*
I feel like the hype for this game is dead when it should be peaking and if they are delaying, they should have announced it by now.
I've seen the photo contest posted on a single gaming news website. The fan wikis were not updated with last Summer 15 minutes deep dive video information (they still have the old backgrounds info and those were replaced by the 3 origins). They continued the ARG, but nobody is talking about it...except the people at Game Detectives (and nothing seems to come of it anyway). The official website and sub-Reddit are down to repeated fan stuff and age old conversations about the same topics.
They are going to show old stuff at the Playstation Experience in early February (confirmed by the CM on discord) and people are already not interested in seen the same old stuff.
They most have had very amazing pre-orders for them to not care about marketing.

They most have had very amazing pre-orders for them to not care about marketing. This game's had frequently awful marketing throughout and CDPR's been coasting on TW3's success to fuel all the hype. They announced the game way too early not once but twice. The 2018 E3 demo was pretty well received, true, which is why they should have delayed showing something like it until last year at least. I foresee much bitching and whining and gnashing of teeth upon release. So much of the hype appears to be built on this being Schrodinger's game. Shooter fans will be disappointed at the mediocre gunplay, Rockstar fans with the lackluster driving and lack of interactivity, RPG fans with the streamlined action-adventure mechanics... Like with TW3, the only potentially redeeming factor might be the writing, and the jury is still out on whether that'll prove compelling. I can't say I've fancied the bits shown thus far all that much.

Nice. For the rest of it - yeah, it does seem like what little has been shown has been...underwhelming. I have a general rule about not buying anything not Dragon Age related until it has been out a few months (it used to be a year, but with DA games being as frequent as the Conjunction of the Spheres, I had to soften that stance), but this is definitely looking like a +6 months past release buy at the moment. Ah, well. At this rate, I'll still be playing RDR2 in 2022, let alone April 2020. And then there's Bloodlines 2.

The hype is rightly built on their reputation and the game's premise. There really hasn't been an open world rpg quite like it before, if they can pull it off. The blending of different genres is a huge appeal as well. But the radio silence is worrying. All the content they've shown has been highly curated, some of it is clearly vertical slice concept. This thing goes gold in maybe 2 months. Its basically done, but they've been more stingy than ever with gameplay. Maybe they're marketing it like a Rockstar game or maybe we'll get a delay announcement this month.

They announced the game way too early not once but twice. The 2018 E3 demo was pretty well received, true, which is why they should have delayed showing something like it until last year at least. Considering one dev mentioned, in August 2018, that the game was playable from start to finish, I suspect something happened in Summer 2018 that caused a semi-reboot, delaying the game internally. They stopped all marketing ~2-3 weeks after that comment despite CDprojekt saying before E3 2018 that they didn't want to go submarine mode like they did with TW3 when it was delayed. Six month later, the project director was now in the USA working at another studio (Polish guy, he had to get a green card which takes months to get). The timeframe match with getting Keanu Reeves (in July 2018) and the project director trying to jump ship. I don't believe the ghost was super centric to the plot before that happened. Also, while they seemed to have a plan for marketing in 2018 before "unplugging", this year they have no plan outside touring the same E3 2019 demo. The press is bored of it by now. I don't understand why they haven't posted a new screenshot or concept art every month since E3 2019. Only 9 of them was needed (unless they do a surprise delay). Or why there isn't lore entries on the official website talking about the gangs, factions, corporations, gear, etc. Instead they focus on promoting fan generated content and merchandises, which is something you usually do after you release a game.

But that's a personal thing; I prefer fantasy settings over sci-fi and cyberpunk as a setting is leaving me pretty cold (although that could also be a lack of familiarity). The hype is well earned (and would be even if TW3 had been the only game they'd ever released) and the Rockstar analogy could be on point - here's hoping.

You mean the Cyberpunk setting or just the cyberpunk genre in general (this is always so confusing, lol)? There is a fantasy/cyberpunk alter-Earth setting: Shadowrun. Got magic + fantasy races and monsters with all the cyberpunk stuff. The isometric turn-based games Harebrained did are awesome (especially Dragonfall and Hong Kong). The Netflix Bright movie is basically an hidden Shadowrun movie too.

I still have Thronebreaker to finish and then my 1st playthrough of Greedfall. I also intend to do a 2nd playthrough of DeusEx:MD before CP77, to get in the whole "cyberpunk" vibe (watching Altered Carbon, etc...), so a few month delay wouldn't hurt me (especially if it's for more polish, no pun intended), but I hope it's not a "holiday season 2020" delay

90 days before release (yes, yes, I'm bored). I still have Thronebreaker to finish and then my 1st playthrough of Greedfall. I also intend to do a 2nd playthrough of DeusEx:MD before CP77, to get in the whole "cyberpunk" vibe (watching Altered Carbon, etc...), so a few month delay wouldn't hurt me (especially if it's for more polish, no pun intended), but I hope it's not a "holiday season 2020" delay An Holiday 2020 delay would have been announced by now, unless CDProjekt wants to hide the game is in big trouble. Delay announcement 2-3 months before release rarely result in delays that span more than a months (give or take a few weeks). I'm pretty sure these delays are caused by consoles certification failures (aka too many bugs) and/or publisher logistic (disk printing, boxes, shipping, etc). Also, aren't you scared that too much cyberpunk before playing the game will just make you find everything samey?
