Abramsrunner , SalMasRac , crashsuit - do any of you still use shield-powered Lance builds after Patch 1.06/1.07? If so, how you not die all the time? This works for me: Use Biotic Amp equipment with full damage SP Lance to make it a OHK explosion on mooks. Use shield return on kill, Biotic Link, and Barrier 4b for shield recharge. I never tried full damage lance since patch 1.06 with new gear... but Lance hit is pretty much guaranteed at close range. So if one lance hit + Biotic combo kills an enemy within AF field, draining field can definitely work. I can see this one work really well. I might try it in the future myself.

I was thinking maybe I was not going for enough damage buffs for SP Lance to work out. I'm not OHK anything with my current build and that's probably the flaw. I have the other three shield-helper evolutions, but I took radius instead of damage.

When I played the N7 Fury a lot, I mainly played the Throw+AF build, though eventually I took points in DC as well, so the OP build is more what I'm used to. This shield-powered Lance version just takes a little getting used to and, frankly, a little different build than what I have specc'ed. Thanks for letting me hijack your thread for my own purposes gethadept!

Main reason I use her less is because all the viable alternatives. I do SP lance and really don't feel that much squishier. She kills things just too fast. I haven't tried vortex yet, because I'm afraid she'll die too fast, the way I play. Exactly this. A good AA will still demolish the scoreboard, hands down. She's just not as idiot-proof to play now that you can't just sit in melee and spam punch punch punch to live. She's an actual glass cannon. But the cannon part is still top-notch for those that aren't too afraid to weave in and out of melee range.

I haven't played Asari Adept again yet since I finished leveling her on 1.05, but I only had 1 on Lance on her. I went with double debuffs for lots of gun damage with occasional melees and ammo donations. I leveled Kineticist on 1.06 and I did go with shield powered Lance on her. I did pretty ok and scored well but I never felt like I l2p her before I got her to 20 and switched to another kit. Sorry to not have better advice for you.

Played a couple with her yesterday and one today, and got her to level 12. Still find her boring as fuck. She's still a beast though, even at that level.

I think she's gotten better overall, but much more of the cast is playable/useful now, so you're going to see a drop in her usage rate because of that alone.

I've moved from Asari Adept to Asari Sentinel. Now that is a fun kit. This is exactly what I did. Can detonate at any range, strips shields like a boss, cds are low as hell, can carry a lot of weight, etc. I took my adept for a few spins post-nerf, and once I got used to her she did just fine. Had to swap a few points, and she can't just melee down hydras and destroyers anymore, but who can?

U know I had absolutely no problem with my build against Kett and Outlaw
...but there is really really weird behavior I find against Remnant.
Some enemies... especially the Breachers sometimes ignore the vortex effect.
They ignore vortex effect 100% when they are doing their Vanguard charge. Even when they are normal floating they seem ignore the vortex effect and sometimes just grab you. lol
Well... she was never a recommendable kit against Remnant anyway.. :dumb:

I didn't even consider that it might be about the ME3 Asari Adept.
It's in the ME:A forum and specifically says "vs 1.06 Adept", so I assumed it would be Punch Adept vs Lance Adept.

In fact, can you share your build please and maybe a few tips on how you usually use her? Annihilation; radius, debuff, shield restore Lance: a, ant-shield, shield powered Passive: Combo, debuff, biotic force Barrier: shields, shield buff, saving barrier Run in; Lance. With multiple targets that survive, you switch targets after each lance. I use the dhan, if you dont have that yet I recommend talon, hesh, crusader, or anything that will let you finish enemies off quickly. Adaptive war amp gear, the shield one is a POS. Use cyclonic booster and a weapon or biotic. Avoid single berserkers, but if they're grouped you can go in. Annointed are a pain in the ass, strip their shields first, then lance, but only if they're not aggro'd on you. If they are, and you're close enough, lance to strip shields, then throw. Follow them and lance to finish them off. She's terrible against remnant, but if you happen to meet them stay indoors. Use your weapon against the laserguys shields, jump and lance to finish them off if you can/must. She sucks against all bosses, so make sure they're aggro'd on teammates when you go close range. Nuke destroyers, but I recommend that with any kit, it just saves time.
