So after thinking that the high point of my day was going to be the first to complete the Stealth Grid challenge making me first in the challenge leader board before anyone else literally less than 8 hours after having JUST completed the last challenge I needed (apex mastery - gold), I thought my day couldn't get any better. I've been saving up credits (25 million plus) for this inevitable day where they dropped another ultra rare kit so that I could dump enough credits into packs to have a decent chance at getting the new kit to drop on launch day. But being unsure if drop rates would hold across the new premium packs, I wanted to show some restraint until drop data started to flow in. But... After buying Reserves packs to max the new shotgun and getting 3 ultra rare drops from that total of 13 packs, I had to keep trying. And so I did. TL:DR: Total spent on Reserves Packs - 23 million Total UR drops - 54 Character kit chance drop rate - (40 out of 54) - 74%, call it 3:4 Average cost of UR - 425k and change And boy was it worth the saving and the wait. All of my kits, including the new Angara, are all rank X. The packs definitely do what they say their going to do: Give you character cards. My advice? To those that have been saving, it's time to go on a spree. Only reason I stopped was because my kits got to rank X. Time to save again I think. I foresee a new UR gun next time. Will be happy to/am planning to provide video/picture proof. Where should I go to create an album and then link the album? Will probably upload the videos (about 5 million each) when I go out later as they will take a while. Edit: Apparently I missed this in the stream because I was busy multitasking with stealth grid and general gaming, plus I didn't think they'd actually comment on it because money. Still, here's some data. Still happy with myself. Haha. Album: imgur.com/a/uGEoRSorry, some are missing. They didn't have anything in them and I just forgot to screen cap. Video: coming soon.

PC video capture --> YouTube XB1 video capture --> xboxclips.com (set your privacy settings to open and to auto-upload clips, other than that you don't have to anything but wait) PS4 --> not sure

Opposite results for me. Opened two Reserves Packs. Each one contained one Rare and four consumables. I stopped at that point, and have a ticket in with EA now. Soon, I'm sure they'll get back in touch with me to let me know it's working as intended.

Again, joke right? 2) there's another post saying it is working as intended because consumables are counted as a rare. 3) going to make a post as to why exactly this kind of complaining is bad. In each 100k pack, there was one Rare card, and four consumables. I was then told by EA that the consumables counted as Rares. I'm not asking for Ultra Rares; I'm asking for two Rare items, be they weapons, characters, or mods, since I still need plenty of those. Am I missing something? Is that how it's supposed to be with Premium/Reserves/Arsenal packs?

I don't think he is talking about UR drop.

Is that how it's supposed to be with Premium/Reserves/Arsenal packs? I admit, when you said you received two rare weapons, I assumed you meant on each card. I misread. It would appear that OP's interpretation (I haven't read the original statements) is that the Arsenal and Reserve Packs can only contain one guaranteed rare or bioWare would have to reduce the Ultra Rare drop rate. To get past the description saying that two rares are guaranteed, they have declared that consumables count as rare cards, thus fulfilling the pack's description. Since they used this system with ME 3, and Arsenal/Reserve packs would contain two rare cards until a player's Rare manifest was entirely unlocked, I'm of the belief that either it isn't working as intended this time around, or that BioWare has lost their mind. Or both, possibly. Edit: Or, possibly, there is slight misinformation everywhere muddying something that might actually be working the same way it did in ME 3.

Did you buy Arsenal or Reserve packs? You said Arsenal but you imply that you were buying the character (reserve) packs. Which is it?

I thought it was the reserves packs that were supposed to give you character cards?

Is that how it's supposed to be with Premium/Reserves/Arsenal packs? One of your consumables was a Rare. This is how packs have always worked; you were never guaranteed 2 good Rares. At least you didn't get 2 Rare consumables instead. When you max out your Rares, that will be your most common outcome from buying packs, generally speaking.

Is that how it's supposed to be with Premium/Reserves/Arsenal packs? If you value your future sanity, don't ask for that: bsn.boards.net/thread/11138/spread-educate-complaining-arsenal-reserveAgain, you're a different category of player, someone who has managed to max out rares and is solely gunning for URs. Many players, like myself, play only a few MP matches a day. I was already months away from maxing rares, and with the "S" weapons, I'm another 30-50 days farther from that. Thus, those two rares a day are actually pretty significant. If the new Arsenal/Reserve packs are intended to be a change from how ME3 did things (where any premium-grade pack always produced two rare manifest-fillers), then the store text should clearly state that. It's not hard: "...including at least 1 that is Rare or better, with a higher chance for XXXX." As it is, it's flat-out wrong; it's obvious that consumables don't normally count as rares, because you never see them in the Rare slots of Expert and Premium packs while your Rare manifest is still incomplete. I don't see how explaining the change upfront harms Bioware in the least: I'll still be spending the exact same amount of credits, as will you, just on different packs. There's no point in obfuscation, since the change's effect is obvious and quite noticeable: four blue cards in a 100,000 credit box. Just tell us that the new packs aren't for casuals, and all would be well. As for my sanity, a statistical nerf to the boxes (not that I think it's going to happen as a result of these posts) won't affect it in the least. I already know I'll never max URs, or even have a X of any UR item, so there's effectively no difference for me whether I have 16% or 14% of the URs when I stop playing MEAMP. It does mean that Bioware knows I'm not their ideal target customer, since I'm not putting money into their RNG store; that actually means that it's more valuable to them to do what you want than what I want. So this discussion is largely academic; they want you as a customer more than they want me, so your needs will take precedence. It's just sensible business, and I can't fault them for that.
