Destiny is a boring slog. It's too grindy, too limiting. The story is insipid. The characters are forgettable. The enemies have the flamboyance of ants.
Please, Bioware. Make a open world co-op RPG that has character.

Make a open world co-op RPG that has character. What if it is like Destiny in terms of grind with no role-playing and boring enemies, but with a good story with interesting characters (PC and NPC)? Based only on the trailer and after show comments, that's my current guess at where Anthem is heading.

Since everyone keeps comparing them, I just read the Destiny plot synopsis on Wikipedia and it was so confusing I gave up halfway. So I hope that they improve on that. Just the first 4 sentences alone had me cracking up, what a mess.

At least one hot male joinable NPC with a dreamy voice over (no romance required) will be a huge insentive for me to buy.

I don't understand the grind trend in games.
To me character levels and equipment were only useful in so far as forwarding the story. Why this whole endless-loot, get-besty-weapon caught on from Diablo to, well, everything is a mystery.

Story is what interests me the most, and when there's story behind a particular bit of content I will be inclined to keep at it. I actually just started doing Raids in Destiny (Which is a tiresome process, requiring recruiting people on 3rd party websites to help out) because those Raids actually have some story behind them, often killing a Big Bad behind a particular enemy group. Completing them is surprisingly satisfying, though I have no intention of going through them over and over purely for loot.
