Was able to fire up a new game and start a new campaign.
The Lost will definitely add a new facet to missions, at the very least.
Also, is it just me, or has half the Star Trek: TNG cast been tapped for roles in this expansion?

I already knew about the Reaper and Skirmisher envoys, but hearing Rikker as the Reaper faction leader was great

So does the War of the Chosen automatically disable the narrative missions from the previous two DLCs? I remember see an option for them, but I could have swore I turned them on.
It's not a huge issue, but I kinda like playing through all the narrative points for my initial campaign.

It's not a huge issue, but I kinda like playing through all the narrative points for my initial campaign. It looks like it changes them, somehow. You have the option to change them back to the original format, though. Haven't played enough to find out what changes though. Retaliation missions are more logical now.

Hmm, I might have missed activating it, but in my current play through I can just arbitrarily build the SPARK and Alien Hunter Weapons from my proving grounds from the start of the campaign. Maybe it will work in the Alien Nest and Lost Towers missions later, I hope. And yeah I really like how the Retaliation strikes actually have resistance members fighting back. It does look like Firaxis has taken inspiration from Long War 2 in that regard, which makes me really curious to see what the modders do with WoC.

Retaliation missions are more logical now. I haven't played in a while, so this may sound ignorant... retaliation missions are the ones where you have to save a number of civilians from ADVENT murder squads, right? What did they change about them?

I haven't played in a while, so this may sound ignorant... retaliation missions are the ones where you have to save a number of civilians from ADVENT murder squads, right? What did they change about them? Well the biggest change is you now have AI controlled militia soldiers in the havens that will fight back against ADVENT forces as you move your way across the map. They aren't nearly as well equipped or trained as XCOM, but they can at least act as a buffer to enemy squads. Before the expansion, the civies would just stand there and let roaming pods waltz up and shoot them in the face, at least now they are a bit realistic. Another one of the smaller, but appreciated changes that I noticed was that there is now an incentive to save resistance member beyond just completing the mission objective, as every person you rescue will give a bonus to region income at the end of the month. P.S. Total side note here, but I am really digging the Templar hero. Everything from his abilities, to the Tibetan Monk vibe, and down to the dual psionic blades just looks awesome. 'Outrider' and 'Mox' are very impressive, don't get me wrong, but I finally got 'Storm' last night and I amazed at how well he did.

Heck in my first retaliation mission, by the final round of combat, the militia finished off a wounded Faceless and killed an Advent soldier by themselves! Only lost three civilians and no XCom casualties! I'm so proud of you guys.... Wish photobucket hadn't gotten greedy or I'd post the propaganda poster I made of the event!

The resistance soldiers on those retaliation missions can put in some work, though I also noticed there seems to be a weird thing which is probably a bug where Advent stops doing anything on those missions until an XCOM soldier gets within line of sight(basically their normal mode of operation rather than retaliation mode where they attempt to kill civilians).
Last night i had a retaliation mission where the resistance killed a spectre, 5 chrysalids, and a berserker simply because they stood there and didn't bother to do anything as I was fighting on the other side of the map. They would have gotten a few more, but my soldiers came in at that point for clean up.

Tempted to buy, but I played LW2 A lOT during last month. I'll give it some rest before I maybe pick it up. Maybe at a tad cheaper price point.

So if I may pose a question here on the main game which I bought through a sale and only just started playing. I've never played Xcom before so I went through the short tutorial. I've also watched gameplays on Twitch to have an idea of the gameplay.
Right now, I'm stumped in a early mission to rescue a scientist. The evac point is on top of a building. Tried as I might, I couldn't find any stairs in the building for the scientist to get up there. Also tried looking for ladders. None of the soldiers have grapplers, they're still very green. Any hints / tips?

Any hints / tips? You can also climb up drain pipes on the outside of the buildings. When a soldier's turn comes up, you should see lines indicating how far they can move (blue for a single move, yellow for double) If you click anywhere within those borders, they should move there automatically. So if the rooftop falls within those borders, you should be able to just select a square in the evac zone and they'll go there. Of course, that might also trigger a previously-uncovered pod of aliens...

I did see one with the up arrow indicator but thought only the soldiers could use them. Thought the scientist would be unable to.

I think I'm not building the facilities in the best order. Too, supplies are so hard to come by. Power relay is a must of course. I'm a little confused by the numbers I see though. The number in front is the power that's available, right? The one behind is the power that's needed, no? In any case, what's the next facility that should come next? I'm thinking maybe I've to start a new game, everything looks rather messy now.

Just finished my initial campaign run through a little while ago. I really enjoyed all the new additions, though it was funny how the vanilla end boss was completely outclassed by the Chosen. I am now going to hold off and wait for the update to Long War 2, before doing another run.

Is WOTC a DLC or a standalone? Technically its a DLC, though the way you access it, and all the features it adds/changes its more like a full fledged expansion.
