I really enjoy the game. Besides being an utter gossipy doctor that nobody seem to notice that vein-y face. Nearly reach the end of Chapter 3 at level 18. No spoilers but that level 22 boss fight with clunky controls really sucks. But my completionist is urging me to redo the entire game again. Killed Clay (to kill this one werewolf boss) and let one guy die because too underleveled for the area. I think its a nice challenge to finish the game without killing anyone, pretty doable. You can always kill off unnecessary NPCs anytime if you want to make things easy..... Also I'm surprised the usual anti-SJW crowd aren't complaining about this game. Ah, bliss. Your avatar is amazing! Can I ask which game it’s from? And about Vampire, I preordered it but I couldn’t really get into it, probably because I had just finished playing Detroit Become Human which was absolutely perfect in my eyes and that means that no other game will be good enough ever lol. I’ll give it another chance though soon I think. Currently playing Fallout 4. I enjoyed the game, although not as much as I would have liked. I'd love to see a AAA studio pick up the ball here because I think there is so much potential in a setting and story like this that budget whys the developers could not fully get their hands around.

I completely agree. I felt like they could have done a lot more with it. I just don’t know if it was a bit because I came directly playing from Detroit or not, maybe if I had dived into it after another game, an average one I would have enjoyed it more idk but I’ll definitely give it another chance though, it wasn’t a complete lost cause, still a great game.

I played it four times I've only played it once, my problem is that I get so emotionally attached to the characters I can't bear to go for worse/more violent routes got happy endings across the board on my first play through). Can't even watch walkthroughs online and see people getting the characters killed. XD Markus is my RoboGandhi and that is how he shall stay!

So I rescued some pansy from a bunch of zombies and since there wasn't anyone around and I knew that I could get away with it I leeched him for that thweet thweet xp boost. Now the good doctor has bloodshot eyes and looks downright terrifying. Yet no one seems to notice.🤔

You are absolutely right. I said what I said because i'm tired of Gandhi being viewed as a great man. I believe that Matin Luther King Jr is a far better example of a non violent protest leader. He cheated on his wife though so he ain't perfect either lol

MLK also took inspiration for his movement from Gandhi, so I was just addressing him as the ur-non-violent leader, not necessarily as an ideal.

Does anyone have tips about leveling up? I'm trying to get through the game without killing humans. I'm currently at level 6 and stuck in the morgue with that level's boss. I'm doing the side missions but I had to abandon one in the middle because a lot of the enemies are at higher levels than I am.

You pick up a lot of XP for them. The early section of the game once you reach the hospital is a huge spike in difficulty. I'd say complete every side mission in a given area before taking on the main mission (when possible) and pretty soon the game will become much more balanced. Which mission did you have to abandon? If it is too hard, try another side mission (talk to everyone available) and come back to it.

The mission I had to abandon was the one where you have to take down the hunters who think that one of the patients at the hospital is a vampire. They're levels are around the 10-15 range. I just got to level 8. Right now it seems hard to find missions that fit my level.

Yeah that one was a steep climb, I was able to do it after quite a few tries. Missions don't have levels, just the enemies, and you'll find ones of all different kinds of levels all over. I think getting very good at hit and run tactics is the key, and making sure to keep increasing your health bar when you evolve. If the area is open (not an area where you are locked in by gates), hitting an enemy, then running out of the area in which they will chase you, then when they turn their back running up and hitting them again is a good tactic till you are a higher level.

And I am not that good in combat so... Just upgrade only skill&ability that support each other and you should be fine.
In my style of playthrough, &skill most difficult is not the lass boss. And you may find enemy harder to handle in late game. Try to avoid group of them is a good idea.

Any recommendations for playstyle that feels the most rewarding in terms of story/quests? I keep reading confusing contradictory stuff about the pacifist run, how it's the worst way to play in terms of quests and NPC responses. Is that true?
I'm also going to play this simulteneously with my boyfriend. So with that in mind, does it still make sense that one goes for pacifist and the other one kills everyone?? Or would it be better if we both only killed some NPCs (that deserve it) so we both get the most out of the game?

Or would it be better if we both only killed some NPCs (that deserve it) so we both get the most out of the game? Not sure that you want spoilers. Safe to say you can kill a small minority of npcs and get the "good ending". You have to avoid killing anybody (or turning them into vampires when the option arrises) to get the "best ending". If you kill off a large number of NPCS you get the "bad ending". If you kill off most or all you get the "worst ending". If you kill off too many people in a given region it will destabilize the region. If region stability falls into chaos you will lose all access to side quests in that area. It really all depends how you want the game to end, on an upbeat note, a happy note, a miserable note, or a horrifying note.

Sooo... After a good five hours with this game spending most of it talking with people I'm already extremely annoyed with the unfair combat.
So first day I'm level 3 and I can't do any quests because I'm way too weak. I tried doing the quest for the crazy woman and the enemies are level 11-17. All right.... Funny thing is I got past the first 3 enemies but then when I get locked inside the gated area I got my ass kicked.
So I slept, leveled up to 6. Got myself two health boots and it helped jackshit. In fact now I can't even make it past the first three dudes anymore for some reason. Maybe my concentration went to shit but I keep getting impaled. Something that guy didn't do at all when I was level 3. The lock mechanic is god awful. Keeps changing targets on its own. And I often can't see properly and get disoriented with the crazy camera angles. Disabling auto lock didn't help. It's driving me crazy.
OK that was an hour wasted. Decided to follow the main quest. Went to the morgue. Relieved to see the enemies were my level. Except one vampire zombie refused to die. Chopped his health down quickly to like 5% but then it kept blocking every attack and kicking my ass until I almost died. WTF?! Did it bug? But ok. Cleared the morgue until the boss fight. Dude then killed me because I kept hitting his shadow. And thanks to fucking autosaves I would have had to clear the whole place again. So I said fuck it and quit the game...
My boyfriend managed to do the crazy lady quest at least. He played Dark Souls, he's better at this kind of dodge combat. But then he tried another one and kept dying too so he gave up...
Surely you're not supposed to start killing people already you've just met?!?
This is worse than the beginning of Witcher 2... In that game I quickly learned that divide and conquer is the winning strategy but I can't get this working here. And as soon as I'm in a locked arena I can't do that anyway.
We're both struggling, so it's not just me.
I like the atmosphere and the narrative so far but combat might ruin the game for me. *sigh*

Did you invest any points in the more powerful attacks like the claw, or did you put everything into health? I didn't get the claw, I got the shadow attack which I like IF it hits. I'm super unhappy with that stun bite thing that cost me 600XP and only stuns for a split second. Totally useless imo. Might as well just do a regular melee stun... I upgraded some passives too. Stronger bite and more blood drain. My problem is I can't get the blood drain chain going much because I get my ass kicked before I can even manage to drain blood and so I can't heal or use that AOE attack very often... My timing sucks balls in this game because the target lock is so bad and I can't find any rhythm when it always locks on the wrong target. I was a good Witcher dodger but I HATE this combat here. Ugh. Really frustrated right now.

Ugh. Really frustrated right now. Yeah the shadow attack did nothing for me as well. The claw was the one I stuck with, easy to use and does a good bit of damage. I didn't bother upgrading the bite much, once you can upgrade your weapons at the bench you can make it so it absorbs blood points when it strikes a blow. I focused most on health/stamina/blood supply. The only stat I had maxed out at the end was health. I would advise maybe focusing a lot on that, and only worry about raising other stats (except maybe stamina) once you are sufficiently resilient.
