I never understood the derision that the Origins trailers received. I really liked the duality of the traditional fantasy setting framed by the modern music. Its not like 30 seconds to Mars was on the sound track for the game (which would have been an entirely different matter). The only marketing "fail" from my point of view was that awful cosplay sexy-time thing they did with british models...*shudder* The music and the trailers are deceptive. They make it look like it's going to be a fast-paced bloodbath of a title with frenetic, gory action. Granted, there's definitely some action and definitely some blood, but gameplay-wise it's really just KOTOR in a high fantasy setting.

What.... what're you talking about Which part? The cosplay thing? Ugh. It was awful. They gathered a bunch of young english girls, dressed them up in DA attire (pretty sure Morrigan was there) and filmed them waving stage swords and shit at each other. It'll be on YouTube if you really want to see it...but have bleach ready for your eyes if you do watch it... Oh man, I remember stumbling across that at some point. It was a bafflingly terrible misunderstanding of the audience. And... human beings in general. There were a lot of bizarre, off-brand moves in the DA:O days. Like having a predictably shitty tie-in comic by Orson Scott Card. Yes, that Orson Scott Card. The guy who everyone says "you should ignore his personal views and just enjoy his novels." Except his novels suck too. He's truly mastered the art of "tell, don't show". No, I'm not bitter because "I don't usually read"ers kept recommending Ender's Game to me, and it was disappointingly crappy. Why do you ask?
