Season six 2 episode finale is the only reason why I will finish the rest of the show. My patience was thinning- I was getting really tired of nothing ever getting to a resolution. Thank god for the finale. Now I can watch the rest of the season that (is the last iirc?) and get to it's gory end.

I tend to love characters everyone hates for some reason but I guess it doesn't help that I always love villains or the seriously flawed... sooo one of my favorites is Cersei but that might be thanks to Lena headey and her fabulous smirks. I wept tears of joy when she blew up the high sparrow and all the fanatics, the only thing I was sad about was that Margery had to go boom as well . Yup Cersei was just great in the last season, her final plan especially had me go wow because it was simply badass and the background score was spot on perfect! I was sad about Margery though, after all the planning she had done I expected her to pull something off. Still she was the hottest character in the whole series, quite literally! I'd put Season 6 as my tied with season 4. SO many great moments but when it fell flat, it fell FLAT. Best war/battle ever filmed since Saving Private Ryan's Normandy scene, most cathartic ending to a long, ongoing arc spanning 5 seasons ("Jon Snow has avenged the Red Wedding!"). King In The North part 2 gave me tons of goosebumps. Gotta say the Winterfell theme is my favorite song from GoT. The Starks are back in full force. Watch out. I loved the final episodes of season 6 but best battle scene since the Normandy scene? I know this is subjective but nah man, 300, LoTR, braveheart, gladiator...there's so many others that are better Imo. Even in GoT, my favorite battle has to be season 5 episode 8, the battle of hardhome which is one of my favorite episodes in the entire series. The feel and the tension in that battle was amazing!

Yeah about Arya... I didn't like the bit with Arya's meat pie surprise, it was OoC. All it did was remind me that Wyman Manderly was introduced too late, and is a missed oppurtunity.
Plus when did she learn to bake pies like that anyway?

Ya'll, this is the romance I never knew I wanted until I saw this: Brienne is magnificent. She needs some Tormund loving. HBO, make it happen!

Oh Brienne and Tormund.. you are perfect for each other.
Read the books before the show came out, love both in there own ways. Glad HBO has wandered away from the book plots in some areas, means they aren't spoiling each other too much.
I also love the characters most hate. Cersei is fantastic and unpopular opinion but i really like her and Jaime together. We are heading for a lovely twisted heartbreaking ending for those lovebirds.

Yeah. Going from my perspective, the cinematography was top notch. The fights were bloody and not full of slo-mo trash or overdosing on CGI. You saw guts, blood, evisceration, dead bobies getting stacked, trampling, even horses got it. There was no feeling of "oh, that's fake" except maybe when Jon lariats a guy off a horse with Longclaw. The beatdown near the end was a HUGE payoff and the scale of the battle felt even greater than most of those films, most of whom held back on gore to keep a specific rating. The Normandy arrival scene was the same way in its presentation of not holding back and showing just how terrorizing and dislodging war can be.

Season 6 was definitely my favorite one. I think season 4 was excellent as well. But Season 6 has a combination of well-written episodes with great acting and great payoffs.
Plus Ramsay was the worst major character on the show by far (no offense to his actor who did a great job, but the character was just written very badly), so him being gone means that the narrative can move on and focus on better characters. In a character-driven show like GOT, that's always a positive.

I still find it weird that the white walkers haven't even arrived at the wall yet, in season 6. Are they lost?
Also, I find it even weirder that nobody takes them seriously, every major leader has an extensive spy network yet they have no information about the serious situation that is brewing beyond the wall? There is an army of undead forming, with wizards leading them and they're not trying to keep their operation secret. At all. Thats just not plausible, at least someone would have sent some people to investigate and gather hard facts.

I found that one scene(after she confesses their relationship to their father) where she tells Jaime "I don't love Tywin Lannister, I love my brother, I love my lover" and then proceeds to kiss his golden hand to be quite romantic. It's moments like this that remind me that my Queen is the best character on the show.

And no matter how rich you are and how big your spy network is, there's always more serious matters demanding your attention.

Not to mention The Wall has built in magic to keep the WW from passing through. Bran is close to getting back to it though which many believe that mark will have serious implications for. I hope they break the wall down. Tormund and Brienne's scenes together was some of the funniest shit on tv.

I guess it ended with a bang though...

Watching my Queen, Cersei reign supreme over all her foes was the highlight of the season, and quite possibly the entire show. I cannot help myself but love Cersei. It must be the vengeance that lurks deep inside of my bloody bloody dark heart GoT: making me root for Jamie+Cersei and incest.

Cersei is great but I was a little disappointed by her basically taking out all her enemies at once like that. Margaery deserved better!
