Saw a leaked image for the next episode, deals with Arya and Gendry. Doesn't HBO have total control with their series? How can anything be leaked, its not liked the episode is being shipped to a local television station.

She wouldn't be the first they did that to... Sansa comes to mind. Never liked her in the first season, entitled little princess that she was. As the series has moved on, she became a better character, enduring what she had to suffer from Cersie, Joffrey, Ramsey and Little Finger. Now so far she is back to being a bratty little princess.

What a heartwarming episode, all it needed was a Krogan bouncer at the door. LOL.

So disappointed. The writers have Dany going in the wrong direction again. She's acting like the petulant little child from last season with the obsession with bend the knee BS. Even I could hear the contempt and disgust in her voice. *Disgusted noise.* "That makes YOU the last male heir of House Targaryen."
Also here I thought Sansa and her were starting to warm up to each other until Sansa had to mention about the North.

I don't think either of them really believed it was going anywhere. Or maybe it was just bad acting, looking fake while really trying to look real? No idea.

As in movies I like, I'll rewatch a movie or episode again back to back in a short time period. First time let it all sink in, next time, catch something I may have missed.

Anyway, since Targs marry in the family all the time, Dany shouldn't mind. In other news, I'm glad that I finally saw Ghost but I wish he was in more than one quick scene.

Yes, it's real, but that doesn't mean they need to stare daggers at each other and not cooperate for now. I don't think anyone is suggesting they need to be best friends, not even Dany. I'm fully in Jon's camp on this one: who rules doesn't matter until the Night King is defeated and Cersei is out of the way. Until then, suck it up.
Now I've got to wonder if Jon telling Dany who he really is is going to somehow screw them over in battle. Is she going to hesitate for a split second too long if he's in trouble? We shall see.

Dany is a hot head. After she cools off she is rational, hope that's the writers intent.
She could barely contain her rage during Jaimie's trial, thought she was going to explode.

Sansa does explicitly say that this is a problem for later. doesn't she? As for how this comes out, I don't know. Dany doesn't seem to have a good grip on how to handle things when she isn't popular.

I rate this one... 6.5/10 Better than the last, but not by much. In a nutshell: via Imgflip Meme Generator Theon's entry was a missed opportunity, there should be many Northerners who HATE him and protest his entry. Instead, it's all cool. Though he is TOTALLY dead. If he does not die, he might join Grey Worm's committed eunuch's club with Sansa.
Only scenes that meant anything were Jaime's 'trial' and John spilling the beans. The rest felt like irrelevant fluff. The Dany-Sansa conversation was ok, and the knighting was ok, and Tormund seems to be dedicated comic relief, but nearly everything else was meh. The only relevant subplot right now is Cersei being Cersei. This is the least Game of Thrones-y season of Game of Thrones so far.
Arya's run at amateur softcore didn't really spice things up at all. I should have seen it coming when the producers were talking about her being a woman.
There was a lot of heartstring pulling going on, but it felt like none of it had any weight for some reason. WAY too much feel-goody crap. Way too much of an I-give-up mentality. Just.. meh. The Lord of Light is surprisingly absent.
If episode 3 is more set up, I will cancel my HBO subscription

You know what I think about her hotheadness.. Dany wins over Cersei after Winterfell and kills her (or orders it) Dany goes nuts with power Arya kills Dany for going nuts with power John goes nuts about Dany and kills Arya Jaime kills John Tyrion takes over the Westerosi Republic

Who would have thought... we'd see little Arya nekid. And Jamie knighting Brienne...the feels. Very much another set up episode. Annoying, but that's how this show works. As to Dany, she's still very much in character.

The writers are taking her character progression backwards instead of forward. Her character progression is why she's arrogant, demanding and entitled though, she's been increasingly acting that way ever since she got her first taste of real power as a Khaleesi. Ever since Qarth, she's been content to simply try to steamroll over everyone and everything that has gotten in her way.
Why do you think the Sons of the Harpy were such a problem for her, they weren't happy with how she was doing things under the new regime, but she couldn't resolve the problem with threats or brute force. The same is true of the Northern Lords, they do not wish to remain under anyone's thumb, but she cannot try to force their compliance without alienating Jon as her lover and strongest remaining ally in Westeros.
But why should they make nice? It's not like their dispute isn't real. They have incompatible visions for the political future of Westeros. The best compromise might be for the North to become gain more autonomy in exchange for their fealty, similar to how Dorne joined the Seven Kingdoms.
Dany is a hot head. After she cools off she is rational, hope that's the writers intent. The problem is more that sometimes the ashes have cooled down before Dany has.
It's not that she can't be rational/reasonable, but she does need people to stop her acting like her father whenever people/things stand in her way. That's what Tyrion and Varys were meant to be doing, but she's pretty much ignoring them these days and they both seem rather terrified of her when she gets in her moods.
"Amateur softcore"? Dude, what show have you been watching for the past decade? I loved Jeremy Jahns hilarious summation of everyone's reaction to that scene;
"I've seen Arya kill people, slice throats, but sex... oooo! Shows how ass-backwards we are as a society." Sansa does explicitly say that this is a problem for later. doesn't she? Yet she kept insisting on an answer now. Which is a very smart move on Sansa's part, as by pressuring her to give her word now, this forces Dany to make clear to everyone what her intentions are. Either she maintains her claim over the North and outs herself as a future enemy, or else she rescind her claim over the North and declares herself a continued ally.
By trying to get Dany to (publicly) give her word that the North will remain independent, Sansa is trying to get some insurance for the North's future. Dany could not then risk demanding their fealty or trying to annex them without being denounced as an oathbreaker and giving the North a fully justified reason for launching a defensive war against her. In addition, she'd risk the rest of the Seven Kingdoms rising up against her, once they realised that any word she may have given to them could be equally as hollow.

The best compromise might be for the North to become gain more autonomy in exchange for their fealty, similar to how Dorne joined the Seven Kingdoms. Someone ought to at least put that on the table. The Jon-Dany marriage Tyrion and Davos were pushing also offers promise. It worked for Ferdinand and Isabella, after all, and also for the UK in a somewhat different process. I suppose Jon's parentage would have to be buried; still possible at this point if they can sell Sam on it since Bran don't GAF. Although if Dany really is infertile now, this guarantees a succession crisis in a few decades. (Sequel hook?) Hell, maybe Robert's plan from episode 1 will come to pass after all. We do have a son of Robert and a daughter of Ned running around.
