Hell, maybe Robert's plan from episode 1 will come to pass after all. We do have a son of Robert and a daughter of Ned running around. I mean, they already did " join their houses".

Why would someone who thinks the series is overrated garbage even bother to drop by a thread about it?
There was a woman in the war council scene I didn't recognize standing next to Brienne. Not surprising I didn't recognize her since I'm borderline face-blind. Besides the main cast, who else was there?

If you think next weeks episode is going to have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

It's not that she can't be rational/reasonable, but she does need people to stop her acting like her father whenever people/things stand in her way. That's what Tyrion and Varys were meant to be doing, but she's pretty much ignoring them these days and they both seem rather terrified of her when she gets in her moods. It wasn't even clear to me whether this was actually one of her moods or if this is just her puffing herself up like she always does. Every time something about her father gets brought up, she puts on this air of victimhood and righteous fury but then as soon as they bring up the fact that, hey, your dad burned people alive for sport, it immediately takes all the wind out of her sails. And bringing up the stories her brother used to tell as though his words are still important to her now? As though she's not even actually angry, but just looking for an excuse to act angry and use the threat of that anger to force her way. There was a woman in the war council scene I didn't recognize standing next to Brienne. Not surprising I didn't recognize her since I'm borderline face-blind. Besides the main cast, who else was there? She's the head of House Karstark. They're technically related to the Starks so I guess that gets her a place at the table even with her small role.

Thanks.
Dany can't exactly write off her father. Psycho pyromaniac or not, it's only because of him that she's got any legitimacy

I was hoping for the Nightking having a bigger more meaningful goal than that. I hope Bran is wrong because that would be fucking boring. Only a month to go until this overrated garbage of a series is over with. Thats even edgier than the overrated garbage show you know.

Dany can't exactly write off her father. Psycho pyromaniac or not, it's only because of him that she's got any legitimacy She doesn't have to write him off, but the fact of the matter is, she's never really met the guy. And what she knows of him paints him as one of the greatest monsters in a history already full of great monsters. So to talk with such visceral contempt about Jaime watching the blood pool under Aerys and reminiscing about dreaming up elaborate vengeances upon the man who did that...it rings false. Like she's being angry only because she feels like she's supposed to be angry. Because experience has taught her that that's when she's at her most powerful.

I had a weird thought...if dragonglass counteracts the Night's Kings magic, would swallowing smooth coin-sized pieces of dragons glass, or even granular sands of dragonglass before a battle prevent your body from being reanimated if you die in battle?

I believe putting dragonglass into a live human body was how this whole white walker thing got started in the first place.

I believe putting dragonglass into a live human body was how this whole white walker thing got started in the first place. It was put in his heart though...and him having it could be the reason why dragonglass is effective against the white walkers. The Children of the Forest put some kind of spell on him when they put the dragonglass in his chest, but if the dragonglass is in the body without the Children's spell, it could repel the Knight's King's magic. When Sam first used the dragonglass blade, he stabbed the whitewalker in the back at it's shoulder, it looked painful, but didn't seem like it should've been lethal, and yet the whitewalker shattered into ice...why? Was it the contact with the glass? Or was it having the glass inside the body? The spell on the NK's dragonglass dagger could be the reason it doesn't effect him, but would non spelled dragonglass do to him, what it does to the whitewalkers? And if a person has dragonglass already in their body when they die, if they are reanimated, would the glass cause them to shatter?

Who's not going to make it after next Sunday's ep? Knowing GoT, the main characters are going to lose people close to them. My predictions Theon Jaime Brienne Tormund Grey Worm Jorah Beric
And one of the dragons, probably Drogon. Dany losing Jorah would break her. Losing him and one or both of her dragons would make her snap. Regardless, it'll be a sad episode.

I expect the northern battle and immediate aftermath will be two episodes. The rest will be "What do we do about Cersei?" and much angsting.
I reckon one of Tyrion, Sir Jorah Mormont or Jaime will die, possibly two. Tormund pretty much has a target on him at this point. Either him or Brienne will die in the battle and my money is on Tormund. Which is a shame. I also reckon one of the Stark children will die as well as Theon.

Well, if a Stark is going to die, the undead are kind of a horror movie thing, and Arya did just have sex...... so.......

Guessing who is going to die is always hit and miss but there are a few I would like to see go, either because their stories are complete or because it would move other characters stories along.
People I want to see go: Brienne and Theon have both come to their arcs end as far as I am concerned, they can safely go. Jorah can go because his death will hit Dany hard and drive her farther into isolation. Greyworm and/or Missandei for the same reason plus they made the dreaded plans for the future, never a good idea.
People I don't want to go (half because of story resaons/half just because I like them): Jamie, he still has sister issues to deal with. All of the Starks, they need to rule to north, if there is even a north left to rule. Ghost, stop killing the damn dogs. Tormund, because he is damn amusing. Everyone else is open season.
My partner is firmly of the opinion Arya is for the cut.
