I don't want to see anyone at Winterfell go, but I figure there will be quite a few. I don't think Sansa, Theon, Varys, Ed, Tormund and Jorah are gonna make it through this, but I'm really rooting for Lyanna Mormont, Podrick, Brienne and Arya to make it to the end.

Guessing who is going to die is always hit and miss but there are a few I would like to see go, either because their stories are complete or because it would move other characters stories along. People I want to see go: Brienne and Theon have both come to their arcs end as far as I am concerned, they can safely go. Jorah can go because his death will hit Dany hard and drive her farther into isolation. Greyworm and/or Missandei for the same reason plus they made the dreaded plans for the future, never a good idea. People I don't want to go (half because of story resaons/half just because I like them): Jamie, he still has sister issues to deal with. All of the Starks, they need to rule to north, if there is even a north left to rule. Ghost, stop killing the damn dogs. Tormund, because he is damn amusing. Everyone else is open season. My partner is firmly of the opinion Arya is for the cut. I'm thinking the Arya/Gendry hook-up was important because if they made a baby, you're looking at a kid with a Stark/Tully and Baratheon bloodline. Brienne and Jaime would combine Tarth and Lannister blood, so I figure they may make it out of this. Sam, Gilly and baby Sam may be important too...I'm wondering if Bran would warg into baby Sam if his body is killed by the Knight's King, or maybe Ghost, or Viserion. There is more to him waiting at the weirwood tree, than just him being bait. He can travel in them I think.

Well, if a Stark is going to die, the undead are kind of a horror movie thing, and Arya did just have sex...... so....... Judging from past events and trailers, she: 1. Had sex; 2. Been drinking alcohol; 3. She's running alone in trailer, so she definitely split from group while shouting "Don't worry, I'll be back" The only chance she has is running into some black guy and twist undead's mind with impossible task to determine in which order are those two supposed to die.

I believe putting dragonglass into a live human body was how this whole white walker thing got started in the first place. It was put in his heart though...and him having it could be the reason why dragonglass is effective against the white walkers. The Children of the Forest put some kind of spell on him when they put the dragonglass in his chest, but if the dragonglass is in the body without the Children's spell, it could repel the Knight's King's magic. When Sam first used the dragonglass blade, he stabbed the whitewalker in the back at it's shoulder, it looked painful, but didn't seem like it should've been lethal, and yet the whitewalker shattered into ice...why? Was it the contact with the glass? Or was it having the glass inside the body? The spell on the NK's dragonglass dagger could be the reason it doesn't effect him, but would non spelled dragonglass do to him, what it does to the whitewalkers? And if a person has dragonglass already in their body when they die, if they are reanimated, would the glass cause them to shatter? Let the two dragons drop tons of small shards of dragon glass onto the Night Kings army (From a very high altitude), like an aerial application of pesticide via plane. Heck, deploy dragonglass caltrops and make dragonglass ballistas that plow through dozens of the walkers. The Romans used those to great effect.

Yeah why the hell not, a powerful trebuchet could launch dragonglass caltrops into the hordes of the undead like a giant shotgun blast. I think they were talking about lighting up the trenches so they must be filled with a flammable liquid, which makes sense. Though since the entire army consists of infantry a deep enough trench would eventually swallow and trap the entire army. I think they did something similar in the Walking Dead series once. Imagine digging hundreds of small camouflaged pits all around Winterfell.

That stuff sticks to anything and melting snow wouldn't be able to dilute it. Spread that on the field just before the trenches and they could take more of the enemies down *sigh* I was figuring dragonglass spikes in the trenches because white walkers falling on them would just shatter into dust and then they wouldn't have to deal with bodies piling up in the pits and clogging them up. *don't mind me...I was just thinking of the most effective ways to defend against a whitewalker attack. *

The North doesn't look like it has enough of them. Also a spike easily clogs up after 1 or two uses and becomes harmless. I have stories to tell from Dwarf Fortresses...

One big question, why do they think the crypts are a safe place? There's dead down there, NK could resurrect them all.

When Bran and company finally made it to the 3 Eyed Ravens home, they were attacked by skeletons. In that case is better to annihilate any remains. Even chicken bones. Cow hides. Good luck in a rural area with lotsa corpses. And graveyards... Not sure if the screenplay writers think stuff through that detailed. I doubt it.

Might be an old superstition, being guarded by their ancestors or something. It's where Bran and Rickon hid out when Winterfell got sacked, wasn't it?

The legendary figure, Bran the Builder was a Stark. He built the wall among other achievements, he also built Winterfell. Perhaps he put some sort of magic to the place.

If the whitewalkers shatter into dust when they're skewered with dragonglass, then spikes clogging up shouldn't be much of an issue though. There doesn't seem to be much of the whitewalkers once they shatter and quite a few of them would have to go down before the dust started piling up.
