You guys are getting past the point I'm at in the main story so time for me to go back to ignoring this thread. However, some speculation to fuel the fire. We know that Far Zenith:
a.) tried to steal GAIA b.) lied about exploding
c.) sent the extinction signal that triggered HADES to go wacko We also know that the members are super-rich selfish bastards only looking to save themselves and don't care about anyone else nor the rest of the world (see # c above). One of the black boxes I found (I think it was a black box but maybe a different recording) got me to thinking about this: what if the 'glitch' that caused the Faro plague wasn't a glitch, but a hack? So started the day clearing Landfall as per above and then headed back to The Base and did lots of chatting and picked up quests for Kotallo and Alva and also with the aim of doing Talanah's. I had several times started out to do Talanah's and got distracted but got it done this time and it was I thought a good quest. Kotallo's quest was short and sweet and then on to Alva's which was good but not for me!!!!! Alva's mission was to find Leviathan, I wanted to tell her Shepard already did but unfortunately that wasn't a choice. If only it had been and we didn't have to do it!!!! So DazK almost had to stop playing to be physically ill during this mission and was close to just stopping and not doing it, good thing I am a stubborn bugger and I like Alva!!!! I am betting you can guess what the majority of the mission involved and just when I was starting to get comfortable with the climbing and jumping etc. Essentially the quest involved climbing a very tall building, think Faro's office building in the first game, but maybe higher and with more difficult and exposed jumps. It wouldn't have been so bad if the controls were the old games controls. There are still times in this game when Aloy will not move, that I am unsure when to just use a directional key, use spacebar or CTRL to make her jump and a few times in this climb Aloy died because of my choice. At one-point Aloy just had to stand there for 5 minutes as I actually had to get up and pace the room as I just could not make Aloy do the next jump. I finally got her to jump but she missed (Several times) but the last one I actually landed somewhere I could not do anything, but it did provide me with a view up that allowed me to see there was an anchor point to pull out as the next step in the climb. So Aloy leapt into space and died not for the first time and started back at an earlier point. Add to that some of the jumps involved views rather than focusing on the building so it was REALLY hard for me, I am proud I persevered and got to enjoy the view and very long glide down but man was that harrowing. Pic's Alva being Alva Beta, spoiler depending on where you are in the story Was glad Aloy finally lost it with Beta and then I guessed she'd bring up Rost before she did. Kotallo - spoiler if you have not done his quest re his arm The absolutely wonderful, magnificent and adorable Talanah, wow did I hope so much those flowers were for Aloy. Leviathan or The Climb, even looking at the screenshots does my head in.

It's great they have the setting so you don't have to worry about running out of air when diving, I use that simply because I am lazy but have played several games with the underwater stuff and I hate it when you start to run out of air even just in a game.

There was a Drone on the map but looked like I had to climb an enormous building and will come back another time as want to push the story. You're learning your lesson! 😋 I tried to warn you about exploring things that you'd later revisit; but I also didn't want to seem like I was telling you how to play. 😁 The story takes you a great many places. If you just explore a little on your way toward each quest and side quest, you'll have most of the map explored. Then, you can easily explore for things missed in the post-game. EDIT: I thought of that building and another location when you were talking about this last week. That building was a big deal because of it being a significant part of the story. I'm glad you survived it. Don't forget that if she misses a jump, Aloy can deploy the glidewing. There's no need to splat or fall all the way to the ground.

I think all these greenshine slabs are meant to be picked up after acquiring a flying mount since they are all on top of f'ing mountains that have no climb holds on them!

I have virtually all the map uncovered now and nearly all the icons. What that achieves that I like is that for the story stuff I can just teleport there quickly and not have to wander around and be tempted into fighting machines. I was deliberately dying to get back to a reset point in most cases and a few I missed jumps (one 5 times) and needed to reset to a check point. Either that or the jump was not possible and I hadn't seen something to pull down with the pull caster.

I got it! This one was in the Daunt, next to the Redmaw(?) mine. Well, waaaaay above it. I admit to massive abuse of the jump key. Here, I can see the target within reach Then I painstakingly get closer... ...and closer And finally....success!
Found another black box (there's only 1 left, and it's on the far western part of the map where I can't get to yet) and more metal flowers. I finally made it back to base but saved just outside. Will tackle all that stuff tomorrow.
PS Still skipping most other posts at this point. Spoilers!

Didn't have much time to play today but completed Gemini OMG. Will write up more tomorrow but highlight of the day was of course finally getting the flying mount. Used it to do a quest you can only do once you have it and flew across pretty much the whole map. Humming Ride of The Valkyries as I did this :

Triggered by Far Zenith I will put this spoiler's At time's I blame Elizabet for what happened. She gave in to giving Ted access in Dawn leading to the big wigs dying, and then in West she gave in to what's-her-face, even though she has a valid point, leading to what is happening in West. Had she stuck to her guns, how different would Dawn and West be?

Okay so yesterday not a lot done and the Gemini quest/mission (what do people think is the right one?) was shorter than I expected and a lot of stuff that happened in that mission and subsequently I guessed did happen. MAJOR SPOILERS if you have not done this mission. Firstly the mission is pretty much the norm in terms of game play but the story parts are pretty major. The Scooby Gang go do their thing and the cinematic of them all riding Chargers is pretty cool. Aloy, Beta, Varl go to the Gemini cauldron to do their thing. Aloy does some running around trying to trap Hephaestus and is ultimately succesful and the gameplay/combat was fairly standard. Cue the bad guys which I suspected would happen all along. Gerard and Eric be asshats as usual and SPOILER withing a SPOILER just be sure you want to read it Varl takes one for the team protecting Aloy. Beta, Gaia and Hephaestus are kidnapped but Tilda saves Aloy. The next scene with Tilda and Aloy is long and lots of chat, Tilda has a plan but Aloy has a better one which brings us to the next mission whose name I cannot remember. Aloy returns to the base and has lots of chats but the big revelation is that Zo is pregnant, which I again guessed, the conversation with Zo actually brought tears to my eyes, it was a well written and created scene So after all the above Aloy mounts up and on The Wings of The Ten flies into battle, Ye Ha. She knocks out all of Regalla's machines in one fell swoop (remember swooping is bad) and then challenges Regalla. Aloy fights as Hekarro's champion against Regalla and defeats her, there is a choice I chose "Death" but Aloy didn't kill her Kotallo did. I kind of regret that as the game seemed to be pointing to "Redemption" based on things Hekkaro said and the choices offered. However Death felt like the right choice to me. That leads to exactly what Aloy planned to get Sylens and Tilda to the base and onside, MAYBE. TBC. Pic's - SPOILERS Obviously This was a lovely moment Breakfast This was a sad moment Ride of The Valkyries Some more phots I forgot

Skipping more posts....I'll catch up eventually!
So, back at base finally to catch up with everyone, fix a bunch of overrides (and turn a few more into jobs I need parts for ), turn in more drone data (only 1 left, I think) and merge DEMETER with GAIA. I'm very interested to find the vault these audio logs keep going on about.
Zo was ready to fix the land-gods so did that first. I had actually cleared out the flowers/vines around the one of them yesterday, figuring it was part of this quest. Erend found out where First Forge is located so added that to the to-do list, and Katallo is ready to make himself a new arm so that was also added to the map. That is where I'm headed next.
Made a quick stop in Scalding Spear to check in with uh...someone...and decided to try my luck in the Pit. Had a couple of snags but managed to win both matches and defeat the Pit Master for the first mark. I think I figured out how it works with the mouse - just a very light, staccato tap is all that's needed for each step of a move, so maybe I'll try that back at the Bulwark to see if it helps there.
As for the main quest, of course I have to go back to where I just was. Then again, I've literally traveled one side of the map to the other and now back most of the way again in the last few days so I guess I can't complain too much.
I also bought a new armor (Tenakth Skirmisher?) and a new Ice Ammo Hunter Bow, both purple rank, and now have to decide what to swap in and out.

The weapon wheel really needs to have more capacity, it's silly it doesn't as you can access your inventory in combat and sub a weapon in so why not just have more capacity on the wheel. That said I forget to use half the damn weapons I have on it. I also wish I could figure out some the melee abilities you unlock. I have tried to do a few like the one tap LMB pause and then three taps but am yet to get it to work. Hell I also keep forgetting to use the middle mouse button attacks. Maybe that can be my goal today.

And a Lightning weapon.
Me in combat: Discs of Death and just regular Sharpshot arrows!
As for the melee chains with a pause - when you do a hit and then wait to do a pause, you have to wait until a visual sparkle at the tip of the spear lights up (there is an audio cue as well). That means you did enough of a pause for the combo to be continued.

sounds very much like me. Today I did "choose a weapon" and stick with it for the next quest, 30 minutes etc. and at one point had a lot of fun with the exploding spears as I got a new Gold Spear for completing a quest. Note: some wildlife may have been killed by accident using this strategy. 5 Spears - take that you damn stupid not a Ninja Turtle Snapper Head Thanks for the combat tip, I have been playing with the sound down so audio cue's have been non-existent but will look for the sparkle I am usually just intent on the enemy.

This cavern is full of Greenshine and Ancient Boxes etc. I flew there today and I think it was the very last "?" on the map that I uncovered. I believe I entered from the East and you need the underwater breather: Aloy's face It was bloody freezing according to her comments.

Yeah, good to know! I haven't noticed any sparkle nor heard anything and I have the volume up pretty high. It is maxed in the game interface but not on my computer, so maybe I need to turn the latter up even higher? Had the same problem with AC Odyssey - all other games I could hear fine @ 50% speaker capacity but that one I had to jack up the volume almost to 100% to hear anything.
