I'm pretty sure Teb is immortal. He's the same age as he was when Aloy saved him. Damn it, he’s a servitor— a highly lifelike servitor observing the Nora! He definitely got the “nurturer” software suite. You do those pieces that serve as your avatars? (How did I not know this already?) That makes those pieces even better! Speaking of the soundtrack and audio, I love just listening to the wind in the trees; the shifting sands; blowing snow and so on. The environmental sounds are incredible! That’s not even addressing the visuals that accompany those sounds; nor Aloy’s reactions, verbal and non-verbal. There’s something special about moonlight breaking through the jungle canopy. Every region has times that just make me stop and say, “Wow!” This game is a nonstop treat to the senses. I have some screenshots that friends say are so good that it’s hard to believe that they’re in-game captures. This game does that all of the time, and looks and feels 10x better than any still can convey.

Haha uh sorry couldn't help myself but you have to admit that this is somewhat of a weird little story to have the game but no PS4 but at least you're half way there. Well, I'm a PC Gamer (but have owned consoles for exclusive titles in the past) and I have been watching, playing and enjoying HZD at a friend's place several times for many hours. Wish it was available on PC with smooth 60 fps and Mouse/Keyboard support but what can you do... This week a PSN sale started in my region for exclusive titles and I could not say no to the discounted Complete Edition (as well as Infamous Second Son and Bloodborne GOTY) so I made an account and bought them. I don't have a lot of time right now and other priorities than gaming so there's no rush to get a PS4 and therefore I'm waiting for a special price deal on a PS4 Pro. There was one this week but unfortunately only "offline" and too far away from my place. As soon as I get a good one online or in my region I will get the console needed for this great game (system seller in my case). I have posted this pic in another thread in the ME3MP forums talking about how epic HZD would look on PC in ultrawide:

Consoles will never compete with PC in the end, but I will say that HZD is spectacular as is. It’s continuously breathtaking in a way screenshots and videos cannot convey. You’ve seen some of it, and were clearly impressed, so I’m not trying to sell you again.
I have a PS4 and a PS4 Pro in different rooms. While I can and occasionally do play newer games on the PS4, it’s just not the same. The difference between 1080p and UHD+HDR10 is incredible. I can only imagine what this game looked like on the PCs used for development.

I've played quite a bit at my friend's place which is why I bought it in the sale and I will get a PS4 Pro. As it will get hooked up to my monitor in the picture above (34" ultrawide 21:9 with 3440x1440 resolution) for the time being and later to a BFGD if they are any good the standard PS4 is no option. Wish I could stack some Pros together actually. That won't make the game play in 21:9 but it would be nice to have 60fps. That being said I enjoyed it whenever I had the chance to play it so I take it as it is and I'm looking forward to playing my own copy instead of messing around with my friend's game whenever I visit him

I can’t tell a drastic difference, to be honest. I’ve never played in 60FPS enough to miss it; but it was noticeably smooth the few times I have. I really wish consoles would’ve set the minimum bar at 60FPS. Instead, they just talk about it like a unicorn and dangle it as bait (cake? The cake is not real.) They did a good job optimizing this game. I never get lag no matter what is happening and the PS4Pro never sounds like it’s preparing for takeoff. The same isn’t true of all games. With some games the menus, of all things, seem to send the console into “runway taxiing mode”.

I rarely use this phrase but I just have to; Up Yours, rEAper!!! HZD shows how wrong you are, you **** ... *cough* oh well, *saunters off* This sort of thing is massively reassuring. It's always heartwarming to know that whenever doubt in the fate of good and proper singleplayer games, free of trifling nonsense like microtransactions, starts to grow, something like this comes along and dispels the idea that they're dying off. Between this, The Witcher 3, Breath of the Wild, etc., I'm confident I'll get the sort of games I prefer for a good while yet.

In fairness, Tomb Raider proved that female protags can sell well before that, but the more the merrier. And Samus even before, if my memory serve me well. But since Tomb Rider was always treated condescently as just being "the particular case of a set, recurring character" to discourage many devs to start a IP with a total new female protagonist because it was too risky, well, with other games of 2017, HZD kill on the spot the usual excuses.

By and large, I would say the gender of a protagonist is irrelevant to the majority of the gaming audience, so long as the game itself is engaging and fun, that is what gamers care about above all. This idea that gamers are all a bunch of guys who are sexist pigs living in moms basement is just so toxic and needs to stop. People have always loved Metroid, Tomb Raider, Alyx Vance the real main character of Half Life , Chun Li etc. I've never seen in my life, active disdain for powerful females in video games from anyone other than a small subsect of neanderthals best left ignored, contrary to what some people believe. Even characters that are lambasted for being negative steryotypes like Princess Peach have had their moments of bad assery over the years. I never personally saw a problem with the way women are portrayed, games simply don't cater to a female demographic, because obviously, the vast majority of gamers, are not women. And me personally, I don't want my video games preaching to me about Social issues, about how wrong my assumed opinion about something is. In fact those types of things actively drives me away from such causes when I would otherwise agree with the meaning behind them. But many games these days (not just games) feel like they go out of their way to slap you across the face with Social Politics because they just assume you don't agree.

Finally finished my NG+ ultrahard playthrough. Wow. I feel as sad as I did the first time I finished it! I was almost in the cutscene after where she finds Lis. And the bit where Avad does a good goldfish impression on the balcony of Meridian in the final battle cracked me up Now I'm not sure what to do. I still have the hunting grounds of the Frozen wilds to complete to get the last two trophies, but they are my least favourite 'side' bit of the game. I didn't bother with them on this playthrough except to get access to the Hunting lodge and get the Redmaw side quest. I've had a couple of goes but I don't have the patience. Question is, do I start an NG+ on an easier setting to just get them out the way, or do I start a completely new game and enjoy seeing mini-Aloy again? (Far Cry 5 is about to drop, so maybe I can do it after that). I'd love to go find all the little data bits in the game too; it's a perfect excuse to just pootle about on a trusty steed.

Same here after my first playthrough i do not do the hunting grounds anymore and my! reason is i just really do not like time trials in games i always get nervous when i do them. And also same here i only do three trials and mostly the ones with the Thunderjaw and Ravager grounds i find them the easiest. Well good luck with that because that's the only thing that's bin missing from my playthroughs the data bits out in the world of HZD ( i still miss three or four of them ).

there must be a map out there with them all...
this last playthrough, I mostly did the first Hunting ground, all that precious blaze there for the taking! Blaze and wire were my most used components. And i don't remember the guy in Meridian who buys the braiding and other bits for the boxes in my first playthrough... he was handy! Though I always end up with too much wood.

I told him he needed to at least do enough to unlock the Lodge quests. Talanah is cool and has a good story. It fleshes out the story of the dark times and civil war, too. My first TFW PT is used tons of blaze and wire. I was tying and bombing the new machines. Once I adjusted to the harder difficulty (and they fixed the bug that made all of my mods useless!) I started taking down the new machines primarily with bows. I had held onto the other components, expecting to need them, but had a lot to sell post-game. No game is holding my interest, at the moment. It might be time to revisit HZD. I've never played it without being fully sucked into the story and world.

I admit I became rather addicted to the trials. Trying to constantly beat my time, and hearing the same lines over and over again from the various Keepers. It's such a good way to grind obsessing over constantly beating the clock. I'm just glad however that you don't need more than one Hunting Ground set to unlock the Lodge quest, but the Quest Fiend in me is sure to ache one day over the fact that Weapons of the Lodge is right there, waving its exclamation point in my face the moment I walk into that place, basically forcing me to go out and constantly beat the clock everywhere. every. time.

I found the Trials to be like riding a bike. Once I mastered it, it was almost reflexively easy to achieve every time after. Even the Thunderjaw/Ravager Trials are easy if you remember the successful tactic you have previously used. On my first PT, I thought that the Tie Down trial was the most difficult. Now, I just tie those glinthawks down and spear them, Tramplers be damned. It's one of those "gaming things" that once seemed tricky but became simple with experience.
I agree that making the Lodge quest accessible via minimal Trials participation was smart. This way, everyone can enjoy the quests. Everyone, that is, but my lazy friend. 🙄 He quits at everything, though, so I don't really try to persuade him to complete games anymore. Why buy them if you aren't going to enjoy them through to the end? He enjoys them, but then just walks away, never to return.

I feel the same about them. A bit rough at the very start with some amusingly stupid mistakes causing failures. After a bit more time in the game and just a little more time trying them out it becomes just natural to me how to approach them and even be creative in how I do them. But it's absolutely for the best that minimal interaction was asked to get access to the lodge. There're games where I absolutely despise doing similar things as the trials so I can more than enough understand those that just dislike doing them

Well congratulations are in order. My good friend won't even try the Trials for this reason. I love them, but I can understand why some don't. It doesn't seem to be an uncommon sentiment. I told him he needed to at least do enough to unlock the Lodge quests. Talanah is cool and has a good story. It fleshes out the story of the dark times and civil war, too. Every quest in the game really adds something.there must be a map out there with them all... this last playthrough, I mostly did the first Hunting ground, all that precious blaze there for the taking! Blaze and wire were my most used components. And i don't remember the guy in Meridian who buys the braiding and other bits for the boxes in my first playthrough... he was handy! Though I always end up with too much wood. I'm often dropping ridgewood. I set a limit of 500-750 pieces, depending in which part of the game I'm currently playing or approaching. Then i'm glad i'm not the only one out there who doesn't like the time trials i only did them twice in PT one and PT two after that i was done with them. And in PT 3 through twelve i only do one time trial completely just to activate the Hunters Lodge and that is almost always the Thunderjaw Ravager time trial.

Well i can ride my (motor)bike way better then i could ever do those trials in HZD at least there is no time limit when i ride my (motor)bike.
