Gotta say I'm a little miffed waking up this morning seeing all these "10's" For Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild.
I thought for a brand new IP, and a complete genre turn around for Guerilla, that HZD would earn at least one ten. No tens to be found. Very good scores 8.5s to 9.25s.....but still.
Friggin Nintendo can "do no wrong" apparently. I remember Skyward Sword getting 10s too, and omg. That game holds your hand like NONE OTHER.
Anwyay.
Rant over.

If they don't do a PC port, it's sad. Sounds like a lot of people really liked the game.

I'm about 20 hours in, and the game just gets better and better.
Aloy is a magnificent character and a great role model for young women.

Since I knew I wouldn't be able to wait 5-6 months to play this, I watched "lets plays" of the whole campaign. Plus the ending. PSSST! Hey, bioware....take notes! I am def. going to get this thing when I can afford the system.

I watched a little bit from a live steam on youtube. Game looks good. At the moment I'm not sure when I will get the game.
The only negative comment I've read is that it offers no replay value. Don't know how true that is, but it was just one comment out of many I've read about the game.

Don't know how true that is, but it was just one comment out of many I've read about the game. Yes, it has no replay value since it is a single fixed protag. There is only one ending. So I would suggest waiting for the price to drop a bit. It's definitely worth the $60 but if you can wait, why not? I would also suggest staying away from spoilers because you will not receive the full impact of the story otherwise.

Although there're now a few great games for consoles (through the years), I'm not going to buy any since I don't like to use controllers. The last console game I tried was one of the Halo titles (several years ago) and it was wasted $ because I couldn't customise the controls. I could only choose two presets. I couldn't get anywhere. Entire PT came up to one hour and I never made much progress. I abandoned the XB after that and it became a white elephant.

Anybody else heavily playing the stealth card, or is that just me? I love taking down a full bandit camp without sounding the alarm. I've tailored my outfit for stealth and my weapons for stealth. Stealth kill headshots!!!

That's a concern, yes, even if I eventually get the PS4 "for free" with the rewards program. I guess, I will bookmark the Horizon as a game that I can try out when/if that happens. Linear stories is not something I have liked, and I have never played a fixed protagonist before (save for a bit of PS:T).

Stealth kill headshots!!! I too rely heavily on stealth. I suck at the combat and Aloy ends up getting overwhelmed easily. Getting a little better everyday though. Gotta stop playing Dragon's Dogma so much. It's spoiled me for other games combat systems smh

Stealth kill headshots!!! Same, I always prefer that over going head to head. Getting an entire bandit camp that way is great. My main problem with this game so far is that when I just try to explore the roaming machines can be a big hassle, especially if I don't notice them until after they notice me. Also, gonna have to explore the photo mode some more and post things when I can.

I'm about 20 hours in, and the game just gets better and better. Aloy is a magnificent character and a great role model for young women. Second that. The same is equally true of Elisabet Sobek. Ashly Burch really knocked it out of the park with her voice acting.

LOVE this game more and more every time i play it and this game is just soooo beautiful. I'm not so far in the game yet as some of you are because i just want to explore everything slowly and i'm a completionist so i'll get there eventually but i will probably be a stealthy girl to. I do not want to spoil anything but what was your choice when you let the Lampion go ???

In this case, Horizon is worth playing because the story and chars are well written. You won't even care it's linear, all you'll want is to find all the answers to the questions the story throws at you. That is why I stayed well past 15 hours for the end game stream; I want the answers.

35 hours in now, game just keeps getting better. So many cool little details are in this game....Guerilla really loved making this, you can tell. Aloy is right up there with the very best heroes IMO, joining only a handful of my favourite protagonists from the last few decades of gaming, the likes of Nathan Drake, Shepard, Gordon Freeman, Monkey+Trip, Link, Adam Jensen and Geralt. Playing on Hard feels like the perfect mix of danger and fun, dialed it up to Very Hard for a while, but it became more of a chore than a step up, so settled on Hard for the rest of my adventure. God it feels good to add to the 'favourite games' pile once again.
