For me it was less the choice didn't matter so much as the consequences were illogical. I never really got how the tornado or the other phenomena were connected to her time-travelling. Therefore, it made no sense that the entire town was in danger unless Max literally undoes all her time-traveling (via more time travel, of course) "With great power comes...nothing. Just don't use your great power at all. Trust me, it's not worth it" I mean, I could get behind an ending where Chloe's death averts an even worse future (something like Episode 4 where we see what future comes about if Max saves William) THAT was a good example of the Butterfly Effect and unintended consequences. but I simply couldn't see the connection between her survival the tornado. Not to mention if you DO let the town get destroyed and Max and Chloe drive off together...now what? Will the tornado follow them? Will strange weather continue to happen wherever Chloe goes? Is she destined to be the inspiration for an entirely new Final Destination franchise? So much this. What bothered me about the ending is that it falls into the same issue as Final Destination and Donnie Darko.
What was the point of any of this story?
In Final Destination, a character is given a vision to avert a tragedy that would have killed the main characters. In Donnie Darko, he's lead away from his bedroom by Frank, avoiding being crushed by a falling jet engine. And in Life is Strange, Max is given the ability to manipulate time and prevent Chloe being killed by Warren.
And yet, all these stories make it perfectly clear that fate is not meant to be toyed with.
Those kids in Final Destination all meet gruesome ends because Death manipulates situations to take them out. In Donnie Darko, we learn that the universe will be destroyed unless he averts this timeline by remaining in his bedroom to be crushed by the engine, while Max realises that she has to let Chloe die as she was originally meant to.
Why did the universe give them ability to change things, if they were never meant to do so?
And even if the Sisyphean struggle against fate was meant to be intention of the story, that hardly makes it all that satisfying.

*~~*~~*~~*~~ *~~*~~*~~*~~ Who else loves this game?!!! I played it because @scarlett and Furisco and Monk told me to, and I couldn't put it down! It was fantastic. I hear they're making a Life Is Strange 2!!! I'd love to hear everyone's different choices in their gameplay. Please understand that I ***loved*** this game. But I'm never playing it again. I loved it. Yes, I give it a 10 out of 10. But I fucking cried so hard at the end that I think this game kinda ruined me, emotionally. That's how GOOD it was. But I don't think I can ever play it again.

I think in all three examples - particularly Donnie Darko and Life is Strange (my memory of Final Destination is fuzzier) - the "point" of the narrative is really more about the characters themselves and how they react to all the strangeness they encounter than about the material consequences of their actions or who/what is behind all the strangeness. Part of the problem that both Donnie and Max confront is that *they* don't know where these powers came from or what they're supposed to do with them, so keeping the audience in the dark as well helps us to see the story from their point of view. Donnie is someone who seems to be looking for more of a sense of meaning in his life, and who can be self-centered at times, so I saw the ending as him accepting that the most meaningful thing he can do is to sacrifice himself to spare the universe some larger metaphysical disaster. In Max's case, she grows as a person and gets to know people better whom she previously either didn't know or were antagonistic (Frank, David, Victoria). I definitely don't think she'll be the same person she was before her week of time-traveling if you choose the "Save Arcadia Bay" ending.

I definitely don't think she'll be the same person she was before her week of time-traveling if you choose the "Save Arcadia Bay" ending. That's kinda why I think Sacrificing Chloe is the "better" ending. Despite undoing ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that happened for the entire run of the game, her memories of what happened remain. She knows more about the people around her, and there's more to them than what you see on the surface

Unfortunately probably won't be getting that. Let's face it, LiS helped me get through a not entirely nice time, but I made it through and became stronger for it. Even the first one is now something of fond memories, but I don't think it's a game I'd play anymore.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

I hope they are going to do a new storyline rather than canonizing an ending and continuing with Max's story. Regardless of the ending choice, I'd expect Max to be very hesitant to use her powers again afterwards.

We might get some references though. Who knows? Maybe a news annoucement of Arcadia Bay being destroyed, or meeting someone that knows Max, and they have a picture of her, with Chloe or Warren. It would be nice to at least have some bits referencing the previous season.

I finished the game today and it was an amazing experience that definitely took you on an emotional rollercoaster. I can't wait to start a second playthrough to mop up the achievements I missed and more importantly see how the decisions I did not make play out.
The last time a game left me this emotionally drained was Bioshock Infinite.
As this comment I saw up it" this game both made my week, and ruined my mood for a whole day"

I started playing it because it was free on the PS4 (as listed above ) and OMG WHAT THE WHERE DID THIS COME FROM??? Most of the games they have for free on the PS4 look so bad its pointless playing them, but I heard some good things about this game and I thought eh its free why not Ive finished episode 1, im just about to start episode 2, and oh my god this game is so perfect its so different and awesome and amazing and perfect Also if Chloe and Max dont get together ill be disappointed because its just so obvious and would be cute
