Confession: when I first played DAO, I couldn't staaaand Leliana. Something about her rubbed me the wrong way: I didn't care for her stories, didn't understand her love of shoes and ~The Game~ and the Maker, basically benched her 99% of the time and ESC'd through her conversations in camp so I could go talk to literally anyone else instead. Now I'm trying to romance Morrigan and I keep getting distracted by HOW MUCH I LOVE LELIANA(!!!!), I love her past, I love seeing her evolve from a reckless shit-stirrer in Leliana's Song to striving-to-be-better in DAO to the reserved Left Hand of the Divine and eventual ~inspired Pope~ and I love that she loves NUGS and SHOES and is grounded in reality, politics and religion and the day-to-day injustices that people suffer. I LOVE HEEERRR. I love that we get to watch her grow from a young woman (like.... very young, possibly even teens-very early twenties in LS?) to this mature woman in her late thirties/early forties who has seen some SHIT and lived to tell about it. Yeah this is how it went for me too. I think when I first played she just seemed so girly. And she definitely is, only now I think it's adorable instead of dull. She also has the cutest squeal in one of her romance dialogues (sadly male pc only I believe).

I confess that I'm gonna romance Zevran with a Warden who will slaughter the elves to get the werewolves' help.

Not if I do Nature of the Beast before recruiting him Nope, he hears about it anyway and rips into you for it. iirc, then you get a chance to negate the negative approval (Though I do not remember if you need to be at a certain level of approval or even in a romance). At least I'm pretty sure this was what happened when I did the exact same thing.

I've been playing a rogue for too long - I keep walking my warrior Cousland straight into bear traps and tripwires I can just picture (rogue) Tabris turning to Zevran at some point, after Cousland and Alistair have set off the 5th straight trap: "Tell me honestly, is this a warrior thing or a shem thing?"

So I just LEEEROOOOY JEEEENKIIIIIINS through all the traps.

Guess I've been conditioned by Baldur's Gate, where a single trap can wipe out your whole party, but I like how it adds a different dimension to the rogue's role than just being a different type of warrior.

I just don't like the whole obligatory rogue aspect, is the thing. Or the obligatory warrior for smashing stuff and mage for random barriers/broken bridges in DAI. Probably why I roll so many rogues in DAO, honestly, so I can just disarm the traps and get all that crap out of the way without having to adjust my party.

I've never sacrificed a HoF in DAO. guilty as well (also I've yet to sacrifice Alistair) The only HoF I've "sacrificed" was more of a suicide-by-Archdemon. I had Alistair executed in that same playthrough, closest I've come to sacrificing him. (I have sacrificed Loghain once) Someone's going to die in Amell's playthrough, haven't decided who though....

THe only time I did the Ultimate Sacrifice was to get the achievement, and then reloaded an old save to not do it.

THe only time I did the Ultimate Sacrifice was to get the achievement, and then reloaded an old save to not do it. The US was a very fitting end for my last Warden, a Dalish elf, who was pretty much broken by the time she got that far. She drove away whomever she could and wasn't very nice to the ones she couldn't. She bonded best with Oghren (she felt they had a lot in common, what with being exiled and all) and her trusty mabari.

I think it takes an idealistic or emotional Warden to put Alistair on the throne.
Objectively, it makes no sense. The guy has none of the knowledge or experience for the job.

But do the Wardens care if Ferelden has an effective monarch? I'd think they'd prefer one who was sympathetic to them. You can trust Alistair to support the Wardens and take your advice - can you trust Anora?

Mine's reasoning was that supporting Alistair might start a political struggle similar to Bhelen vs Harrowmont and there is no time for that shit.

*shrug* but well you know what they say, you can't have 'em all (even though for the longest time the Pokémon motto was 'gotta catch 'em all' )
my canon world state has Alistair and Anora married...mostly 'cause I have Loghain recruited and you can't have one without the other

Or just marry them together. That's just evil, lol. They barely tolerate each other. Meh, I do it on almost every playthrough. Good for the stability of the kingdom; got a Theirin who's a good man on the throne and a politically savvy queen the people love. And on a meta level it's the only way to keep him from becoming a wandering drunk if you spare Loghain (which I do 90% of the time). My Tabris was almost arrange-married and my Aeducan expected the same before that whole Bhelen business so.... ya know.
