I'm thinking Debeers and this new person Rand will play a large role going forward, more freedom without needing to worry about the overall timeline and all that. Why that? De Beers has a defined presence in DX1. He has to end there in some way. There is more freedom with Rand, but that doesn't change that the big picture has to end where we start in DX1 eventually. Maybe he's just there so that he can be killed. Along with... ...Delara, possibly. Too bad she's with the Illuminati. I suspected there was something fishy about her, but I had begun to like her.

It's just too bad that DXMD's story fails to be as engaging as its predecessors', because gameplay and locations are excellent, with gameplay easily the best of the series.

To me it works out nicely that Adam could help him along with that, but it already seems like they are going that route.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Please explain. If De Beers must end up in the freezer we find him in in DX, then that's less freedom for the plot, not more as you claim.

More freedom compared to Bob Page or Morgan Everett? De Beers was there leader and then he ended up in a freezer, I'm thinking something else went down other than old age. So we already have one major downfall as part of the lore, why not take advantage of that? And based off the secret ending it looks like they are planning on doing just that. And If they are going to continue with Illuminati plot lines there is no point in included Page or Everett, as nothing too bad can really happen to them since they will be kings of the world in 2052.

I'm about five hours into the game and liking it quite a bit so far. One question: did Eliza Kasan come off as an establishment shill in DX:HR? My recollection is that her reporting was a little more objective and that she even sort of sympathized with Adam, to the point that I'm wondering if the Eliza I'm seeing on TV has been "reprogrammed" or is a different AI altogether. (No spoilers, please - I'm just trying to refresh my memory of HR.)

FINALLY managed to unlock Foxiest of the Hounds in DX:MD. That achievement is so broken, I feel like I got it through sheer dumb luck even though I was trying for it.

I'm in the middle of a "chasing the combat achievements" playthrough of DX:MD. I usually ghost these games, and have lots of fun doing so, but this is a different kind of fun, and just as satisfying IMO. I'm having a blast.

I should've gotten it in my last playthrough, but apparently there were some "smooth operator" achievements I didn't get in spite of never raising any guard's, turret's or camera's attention attention beyond "suspicious", never triggering any lasers, never failing any hack in the last attempt or before disconnecting, and not making the mistake of contacting Miller in GARM (not sure why that raises an alarm).

No trick, I think it's just broken. :\ I did what you describe three times before I got it on the fourth. And on the run where I got the achievement, "smooth operator" didn't flag for ARC territory, the NSN, Allison Stanek's, GARM, or the first and last stages of the Apex Center, and I had random searches go off in Prague and London. In Prague, before the lockdown, there was this one exo suit cop who would start a search every time I walked past him, and in London, I had searches go off every time I rode the elevator - even on the initial ride from the Helipad, before you enter any restricted zones. And on that run - where I was still trying for smooth operator every time - I got my achievement even though smooth operator was wonky.
TL;DR I'm pretty sure it's broken. That's why I say it was sheer dumb luck.

After finishing DXMD, I started a new game of the original Deus Ex. Gameplay, visuals and audio have drastically improved since 1999, but I have to say Deus Ex's story is still the best. Not that DXHR and DXMD are bad, but Deus Ex has more different factions and locations. DXHR's story comes close but doesn't have quite the same appeal and DXMD's just feels incomplete and that there's only one hub location makes it feel significantly less epic.

I'm pretty sure that Delara is actually Elizabeth DuClare. In the stinger ending, I'm pretty sure I heard Bob Page refer to her as "Beth" I doubt that.... ...because there is a scene where somesays says to Delara "Give my regards to Elizabeth". I went and double-checked: It turns out I was wrong about Page, it was Lucius who says "Elizabeth, I'll contact you later" in an early cutscene as the image of an older woman vanished. Then at the very end, Delara said (dropping the old woman avatar) that "Elizabeth sends her regards"
There's no way Delara could be Nicolette since she won't be born until 2034.
One interesting detail, though is it's hinted that Nicolette may actually have been a clone of Elizabeth. If that's the case, then perhaps Delara is another one. It's hard to tell with fifteen years of technological advancement between games, but one could see a bit of a physical resemblance between Nicolette and Delara

Is the "Missing Link" DLC for Human Revolution worth it?? Yes, very! It adds a very long mission which feels more like an expansion and does give a bit more depth to the main story as well. I highly suggest it!

The Director's Cut of DXHR integrated it into the main story. Yes, and it was stand alone as well. My copy is a separate game from DXHR and you can run it without the main game, but when you have it and start a new campaign it is integrated seamlessly into the main story (it happens after you get on the ship).

I'm playing DE:HR again in preparation for MD. First time round back in 2012 I talked my way into the police department. Second time round I sneaked thru it. Now, 4 years later and after playing ME too many times, I shot the whole place up and murdered every damn person in there. Dragged the cops into the air vents for no particular reason...even the M.E and the ppl in the lobby got a bullet in the brain. I'm a monster. But it was so much fun.
