DE:HR drives me nuts. It outright refuses to give me "Pacifist" achievement for not killing anybody. I've tried at least three times but it's just not going to happen, apparently. I'll give it one more try before Mankind Divided release, but I'm expecting another failure.
Edit: Saving Malik was easy for me, even though I don't recall what exactly it entails. But I do remember tough moments and that isn't one of those.
I missed Pacifist twice because I always forget that you also can't kill anyone in the prologue... I've given up for now.
Also, I sometimes take down everyone silently and then kill them with silenced pistol headshots. The jerks that shoot up Alice Garden pods, for example.

DX 1 was one of the best games I´ve ever played and still can hold its own today in many ways. I actually had to pause the game during the final level on my initial playthrough and think hard about which of the ending options I would choose (which is ridiculuous as this is just a video game). Add to that the freedom of how to solve the problems during gameplay and some memorable characters, and there is a game that was truly ahead of its time. The less is said about DX: Invisible war, the better. If you liked DX:1, I can heartily recommend playing the total conversion fan-made mod "The Nameless Mod", which is a much more humorous and self-depreciating story set in the DX Forum community, but has all the gameplay strengths of the original one.
DX:HR was really good, and I´m looking forward to stealthing my way through the next one. I just hope they skip the boss fights this time.
I´m still oddly grateful to Microsoft for providing me enough RL experience to NOT go for that free firmware upgrade in DX:HR
While I don't know if there is a way to skip the boss fights, I do know they have stated that you can avoid killing any of the bosses in Mankind Divided, unlike Human Revolution where you had to. Though since the Director's Cut version of Human Revolution did have stealth ways of defeating the bosses.

She ends up being the one who flies in to extract the scientists(or whoever it was) at the Omega Ranch and drops EMPs on the guards in the hanger area.
Well, I just got done pre-ordering DE:MD. Found this, too.
Looks to be an alternate game mode/multiplayer mode.
i really like pathfinder's setting but i REALLY don't like how focused on min/maxing the rules are. it's designed from the ground up by and for min/maxer's and autists. the rest of us normies have to play on crayon eater difficulty just to hit a target. j00t Fires Of Heaven www.firesofheaven.org/
The dumb difference in gameplay between the normal game and the boss battles ticked me totally off in Human Revolution. Only did 1 playthrough and rage quit on the first boss in my second playthrough.
I heard they redone boss battles but charge money for that, so I'm just "GTFO!" for anything they try to sell me now.
I had the same issue, I nearly had to quit my first run and was heartbroken about it (it was only my second ever FPS and I sucked lol). Then I played again, hard mode and full pacifist run, and zapped the first boss with the stun gun in the face 17 times. Killed him, didn't get injured. Result. (Just remember to collect lots of stun gun darts beforehand)
The boss battles and Panchea (the end of the game) were made by a separate studio, and they suck. The devs acknowledged that they screwed up and I'm pretty sure they won't be making the same mistakes again this time. They went a small way to rectifying the boss battles in the Director's cut, but I was so mad they removed the yellow tone of the game (the pee filter ) and would cancel your achievements if you moved over, that I refused to buy it so I haven't tried them myself. There's a new level above the first boss though that lets you use gas I think.
2? 2? Nope, pretty sure the Deus Ex maths is 1, 3, and now 4.
I did get the Pacifist achievement, but I hated that it wasn't tracked throughout the game. Two of the sticky points are when you're trying to save Malik. You have to tranquilise and drag the bad guys out of the way of the blast or they'll die, all whilst trying to save her life. Also the mobs have a tendency to suffocate if you stuff them unconscious into an air vents. They can be fine, with the sleeping icon over them, for a long while. Then, when you're far away from them but not yet finished the level, they'll suddenly snuff it. So I tried not to leave them in the vents for the whole game.
Bloody annoying, jumping through hoops for a damn achievement. And I was stoopid enough to do it.

Incidentally, I upgraded to 16GB ram about a week ago or so. Good to see that I'll be putting it to good use pretty soon.

Balls. I only have 8...or maybe 12 GB. Can't remember right now. But it's not 16. Looks like I'll be playing on medium settings again *sigh*. It's an expensive gaming laptop too. And this is why ppl buy consoles.
Yah, never liked laptops for that reason. Not enough upgrade paths.

Desktops FTW. Switching out/upgrading RAM is easy peasy.
Sadly I don't have a choice. It was the laptop or nowt so I got the best gaming laptop I could afford.
Well, the minimum requirements are 8gigs, so you might be able to run it alright. I mean, I was able to run Witcher 3 on my old comp better than I did Witcher 2, despite the former being more demanding, so you never know.

As a Malik fan I am happy. I read the preview for the book that comes out the same day as Mankind Divided, Deus Ex: Black Light, which serves to help connect Human Revolution and Mankind Divided and from the preview it reads as though Faridah Malik being alive is the canon at least in their timeline. The section reads:
"For a moment, Jenson expected to see Faridah Malik's face looking back at him from the cockpit, and he frowned. As competent as Vega appeared to be, it would have put him at ease to have somebody he had complete trust in on the stick. As Sarif Industries' senior pilot, Malik had been there to get Jenson into and out of a lot of dangerous situations in the past, and her absence now was keenly felt. He let out a sigh. Thoughts of tracking down Malik's whereabouts threatened to split his focus and he shut that away, returning to Quinn."
So yeah, it seems they listened to the fans that wanted her to stay alive and kept her that way, even if she isn't involved in the story anymore. That said David Sarif will make an appearance in Mankind Divided, so maybe Malik and Pritchard will as well even if it is just a cameo with a video call.

Thank you! Malik is one of my favourite female characters, she's not tottering around in heels or being super girly. She just gets the job done and I respect that, we need more like her tbh.
