Still?
No offence, but blacks have no place in Bohemia in 1403.
I don't think you'd see many blacks here until the 1990s, in fact, which is right after the Communist rule ended.

*sigh*
I keep quiet in topics like those because I've a "live and let live" view towards it. There're valid arguments in some circumstances but in this case, it's utterly ridiculous. I hope common sense prevail.

I think a lot of those types have a bit of a bone to pick with the lead designer since he showed support for Gamergate and doesn't agree with a lot of SJW talking points so they will latch onto anything they can to drag his game into the mud.

just goes to show that nobody cares what these assholes think, remember that article "gamers don't need to be your audience"? More like SJWs and "games journalists" don't need to be your audience, they aren't the ones who buy the games.

I dunno - I don't take the whole "representation" debate seriously. Imo, it's just a bunch of trolls wearing out their power fantasies that have been successful the odd times. Today it's black people, tomorrow it's women after that some odd minority that needs representation in a Gilgamesh story game. Gotta give credit to the people who want to play females, tho - enough dudes who want to look at a nice butt and many players who just want to beat off the often trodden path of dude hero saving the world.
Anyone have a tip about entering the monastery? Right now my only option is sneak, takedown and slaughter my way through. I'm tending for option 3 but it's kinda out of character.

I've neglected my sneaking skills. Only managed to slip 1 poison into the food pots in the Viper's Nest, too. Those covers gonna be blood-soaked. Unless - maybe there is a way to put on monk garments?

It's probably not going to matter either way, the game seems to have had a successful launch and is continuing to sell well from what I understand. (at this point I think it sold faster than DA:I IIRC) And also because european SH don't usually give too much of a sh*t and tend to do the games as they like.

So most of the game is damn good, except the narrative itself so far is wholly predictable. It seems like Henry, for all of his anonymity keeps getting thrusted into positions of higher authority due to Radzig, just to keep him involved in the major plot. But I am going to make two predictions on this which will ruin the whole "everyman" sort of action here. 1. Henry is a bastard so he is actually noble.
2. Radzig is his father which explains the favoritism and the protective nature over him. If both of those come to pass, I will be disappointed because id rather Henry actually be the everyman. I am in the middle of a quest right after Henry got his first horse so we shall see if I am proven right. Still, decent potential for this game. It's extremely niche but i'm enjoying it.

Lets start by fixing bugs and adding the remaining KS stretch goals that they cut from the game release (tournaments, playable female questline and the dog, also finishing the polearms and adding in crossbows). I think they plan to move to work on another game once they got all the KS stretch goals in. They didn't want to start with the Hussite Wars right away, but their goal is to cover them (or part of them). Dog? You mean the one you meet in Skalitz? I was initially looking for the fella after the prologue and was a bit disappointed. That would be a fine companion for the hunt and adventure. Yup, Mutt the butcher's dog. The dog, female questline and tournament were all reached stretch goals during the KS, but for various reasons (bugs, tech issues, time constraint) they were put on hold so they could concentrate on the rest of the game and release it.

That sounds fine for me, I dint follow the whole development. Just once had a look on an early trailer, so I pretty much only knew what kind of game it is when they released.

It seems like Henry, for all of his anonymity keeps getting thrusted into positions of higher authority due to Radzig That part I found less annoying than the fact that Henry seems to insist on a few occasions on talking back to nobles. It's just not very realistic for the setting, to say the least... I can buy the premise of a peasant who eventually became a knight/noble (assuming that's what actually happens) much more easily, because while not a particularly likely scenario, IIRC it did happen from time to time. I'm surprised he didn't got arrested or killed most of the time for doing it. Since that's usually what happened to peseants who were foolish enough to defy their superiors.

Of course, but not to argue the point there were also Berbers and Moors who were converted Christian knights too by the late middle ages. I think the simpler explanation is how it services the plot. It's what I fear the plot is building to with my predictions because that robs a lot of the impact.

Ye, if the road is good experience I don't mind about a story already done before. In the end most things have been told already anyway. Gimme that road and I make that story shine for me.

Its really good in that regard. The best quest so far for me was the nightingale one you get at Rattay...that is good quest design and a decent reward as well.

I just think it is a little funny to watch the auto dialogue with Henry morally grandstanding about he isn't a thief while his pockets are overflowing with stolen items or talking about how he wont go out and tarnish his honor then goes and kicks a peasant woman for the luls.

Is there some sort of backstab mechanic in the game? Like, can I sneak up on someone and slit their throat or will trying to attack an unaware enemy just be a regular swing of your weapon and initiate the normal combat?

Yes, but you might need to pick a perk for killing first - have a look under the skills, could be stealth - iirc you need dagger in inventory, too. Not sure about takedown (unconscious).

Had a look at some stats yesterday - apparently I made over 23K groscheks by stealing. It's all good game hunting and poaching. Check out the Inn in the Glade, it now famous for their assortment of meats.

Henry's father could have been a knight at some point since he knew how to fight. Radzig also knew him so he could either be a] a fellow knight who served the same lord, b] a relative.
Henry's father might have done something he regretted, hence, his retirement / abandoning knighthood. Or perhaps he saw too much bloodshed, involved in some political squabbling he no longer wish to be part of. His remark about losing one's head, knowing how to fight and yet getting killed by an arrow just by stepping out the door could be related to an incident that hit him deeply. It could be a friend / friends / relatives / companions that were killed in a manner he felt was futile / a waste / an injustice.
The worse scenario would be that Henry's father was a knight who desired retirement / peaceful life not because he wanted to, but was forced to. Perhaps there's an axe hanging somewhere that would fall on him should he do / say something. This axe may yet fall on Henry.

Yes, but you might need to pick a perk for killing first - have a look under the skills, could be stealth - iirc you need dagger in inventory, too. Not sure about takedown (unconscious). Requires level 5 in stealth and picking the silent killing perk + a dagger in your inventory. You can knock out people from stealth level 0 though, it just makes them unconscious for about 1 minute.
