I never understood why nobody has managed a successful film franchise of the Punisher. You'd think a franchise about a guy gunning down criminals while wearing a skull shirt would be simple. Compare Punisher vs. MCU. Punisher has NO place in the MCU, due to the current style of the MCU. The Punisher does not have 'higher ideals' present in most of the big heroes. He is (very deliberately) outside of the way your standard hero works. No powers of any sort, frequently wounded (at times grievously), takes no issue with hurting or killing people, and has little desire to collaborate or be subject to others rules or principles. This is versus your archtypical comic book hero: powers of some sort, bulletproof, willing to fight but extremely reluctant to kill, either very willing to collaborate or can be persuaded to collaborate in times of need. The Punisher is perhaps the purest example of an anti-hero. Audiences into the hero scene would be confused or turned off by him.
Also, the Punisher never had the maintstream appeal of some of his contemporaries, i.e. Spider Man. The Netflix series was the closest to mainstream the Punisher ever got. And the success of comic films is only a relatively recent development-prior to The Dark Knight, they were pretty much cheap, thrown together nonsense.
So Punisher films were made, but they mostly underfunded, b-side nonsense. Heck, b-side is being generous.

I wouldn't put it against Disney to probably make a new Disney+ series based on the Punisher, especially considering Disney seems to be moving towards comfortably showing and financing R-rated content thanks to the purchase of 20th Century Fox. If Blade does end up being R-rated, which I doubt, I don't see why Marvel Studios wouldn't make a Punisher film.
That said, if they did do that, it would have to be standalone from the rest of the MCU due to how the nature of the Punisher would have to be considerably toned down otherwise. I mean, back in the 90's and early 2000's, Punisher had crossed over into Spider-man property (the 90's show and the 2000's video game) and a lot of his super dark gory stuff is either not shown or implied but toned down.

Comic books will keep on coming until they don't make money.
Right now, they are making money.
Basically, the only thing that can kill the MCU is a new genre/re-explored genre that captures mainstream audiences.

Comic books will keep on coming until they don't make money. Right now, they are making money. Basically, the only thing that can kill the MCU is a new genre/re-explored genre that captures mainstream audiences. Hollywood has gone through several phases of genre's that dominated the box office. Musicals, then Westerns, then romantic comedies, then action movies, then CG-based sci-films (mostly disaster flicks), and nowadays it's franchises, aka it's characters that get movie audiences interested, not which star is attached to which project. And honestly, in today's society of continuous stress and negativity, I can understand why audiences would be more in demand for new movies based on nostalgic properties, be it superheros or Disney flicks. We don't necessarily have to like it, but I can definitely understand it. Once that period ends in the near future, we'll be seeing demands for new genres eventually.

I don't like YouTube. I use it, but I don't like it. It isn't because of the ads (though they can be annoying) or the UI or anything like that. I don't like YouTube because of the videos it decides to recommend me :/ I use YouTube for listening to music, watching trailers, CinemaWins (not Sins) and videos about gaming. Outsidexbox mostly tbh. Those are my main uses for it. The videos recommended to me on the homepage all make sense, Star Wars, superheroes and music. Whenever I watch a video, that all seems to change though For the first recommended videos, everything seems okay but after scrolling the algorithm seems to be... Im not sure. Bad. Because I love Star Wars, the YouTube algorithm that recommends videos somehow translates my love of Star Wars into hatred of Star Wars, and I get recommendations like "The Last Jedi is a complete cinematic failure!". It happens almost every time, even though nothing in my history would give YouTube any reason to think I wanted to watch click-bait like that. Ive even tried to make YouTube know by saying I'm not interested, but it never works. I dont want to watch videos like that because I enjoy things and I think Im a pretty positive person but it never seems to learn. I dont want to help people who make click-bait videos that are kinda... sensationalist? And that's all really they are. One was recommended to me last week and I decided to watch out of curiosity, so I made sure I was using a different browser and wasn't signed in to avoid it tainting my recommendations even more. I knew a few seconds after it began that the person who made the video had no interest in actually reviewing the movie, because they had started with an opening that insulted the movie repeatedly and never gave any reason... why? I actually quite enjoy some channels about analyzing movies, and i was expecting something like that. And it wasn't that. A few minutes later, they were taking about how people who enjoyed The Last Jedi thought they were smart but were idiots. And things really became worse and really quite manipulative in the things it was trying to do. It didn't especially trouble me because I enjoy TLJ, I think entertainment is subjective and people have different things they enjoy and all is good... but the video kinda acted like a review, but wasn't a review. So unsurprizingly, click-bait really is terrible. But it made me think, I guess. If my perfectly innocent YouTube patterns can cause something like that to be recommended somehow, what are the recommendations for the people who actually search for things like that? And that made me worry. I realized that if I dont really like a book, movie or a game I would Google search... the fact I didnt enjoy a book/game/movie. I'd read things other people had said. I dont even know why, I just did it sometimes. I guess its because it feels validating in a strange way. Im basically a walking unpopular opinion, and it's sometimes nice to know that someone feels the same way about something, and makes me feel like less of an outsider. But I kinda realized the danger in the click-baity sensationalist videos like the one YouTube decided to recommend me. What if someone had done the same thing, to find validation about their opinion of a movie, and found that video? Where could it lead them? I used it for idk personal growth? I talked about it with my fiancee and I stopped googling strange things that really dont change anything, because I think being validated by the wrong people is dangerous and my opinions are my opinions. They change sometimes but don't need validating, even if they are unpopular. Movies are just movies, and if I like or dislike them doesnt really matter. I kinda didn't think about any of this before I watched the video. I didn't even think about googling things, I just did it, especially when I was alone. And now I feel to have more understanding about the way YouTube works, and what people who make click-bait are trying to accomplish. Yay? :/ I never watched videos like that before, but I'm definitely not starting. My experience there really made me understand things. Tbh, I understood a lot more than movie criticisms also. Anyhow, the unpopular opinion transformed into a personal story. But it made me think about YouTube as a website and how its recommendations worked, and I decided I didn't like it. It does suck imo. It relies too much on click-bait, and videos like that are recommended all of the time to me for some reason. And, predictably, the videos get an overwhelming number of likes. Which is... bad? Also, I discovered that CinemaSins are just marketing guys with algorithms riding trends and misrepresenting movies so I decided I would no longer watch them. That happened months ago. So yup, many realizations about YouTube. Andddd I don't like it anymore. It's a little unhealthy I think.

I think every social media algorithm was messed up. From Facebook to Twitter to Youtube. And yeah, I find its weird how they tried so hard to push content with already high engagements or assuming you'll get interested simply because you watch a single video. Like I'm watching this random channel that discuss movies and tropes and story analysis and somehow that signal the algorithm that I have to watch videos from another youtuber that I don't really like rather than actually pushing the unwatch videos from the same channel I'm currently watching.
It's ridiculous.

Unpopular opinion: I would rather eat a bullet at ages of 40 to 50 then live as an old man. I don't like the thought of being an old man either, but what keeps me looking forward to this time period is witnessing future advances in technology, possible moon bases, 3D metal printing and other stuff. Maybe in my 90's I can keep my body in stasis and escape into a virtual reality of my choice for eternity. Sound quite crazy but dude, that's 60 years into the future, and at the current speed of tech progress. Oh boy, that's like IPhone Gen. 65 or so. Unpopular opinion: I WANT to grow old. Very old.

Warhammer 40K Space Marines, especially the Ultramarines, have to be the most boring aspect of the setting.
That being said, stuff like this makes them look awesome and only makes me resent the Primaris marines even more.

World building & a good story > romance options.
I would much rather have a fleshed out, fully realized fictional setting than one that cuts content just so you can choose who you want to bone.
If people are that desperate to see sex scenes then there's plenty porn on the Internet. There are far fewer settings that are totally realized and feature complete.

Animation budget going to realize pixel nipples on the screen means that there's now less time available to fully animate that mech walker section, for instance. Or adding in twelve different waifu companions for the player to choose from now means that there's less content for companions that aren't just there to be virtual bang buddies.

Unpopular opinion: I would rather eat a bullet at ages of 40 to 50 then live as an old man. I'm past 50, and life has never been better. Seriously! I've delayed posting this, because I had this compulsion to argue the point and explain. But at the same time, all those things are connected to things I don't want to tell. In the end, all you get is that life has never been better. Sorry bout that. Hopefully, you will discover that ageing isn't quite what you think it will be.
