I don't get the reference. Then you haven't watched it yet. Heretic. Third episode: The invention of what is essentially a memory chip for your eyes so you can record what you see for yourself and others with perfect accuracy screws with a marriage. Your eye camera taken to its logical conclusion.

The human eye is a glorified camera. Here's my proof. Everything about taking pictures and looking at people has been turned on its head. Looking at someone with your eyes, you are capturing their likeness (what they look like). While taking pictures of someone with a camera, you are capturing their digital likeness. Well, no surprise here, that's the way optics work in our universe, there are not many alternatives due to physics. Heck, even the eyes of insects which are VASTLY different than us work very similarly.

Another thing I was going to say was if you look at someone, no one says anything. If you take a picture of them (eg. on the street), then everyone loses their minds.
Seeing as the human eye is a camera.

''Superfood'' is the dumbest most brain-retarded bullshit ever. Yeah guess what, food has actual FUNCTIONS! Surprise - That's why you have to fucking eat it! Chicken is superfood, it helps build muscle and makes you stronger! Pickles are superfood too, pickles have so little calories you just don't get fat when you stuff your piehole with them, creating the illusion for the idiots that that superfood makes them lose weight! Cookies are fucking superfood because they taste great and make me feel super energetic if I devour entire bags of them! Beer is superfood, it makes me go dizzy in a most pleasant way! EVERYTHING is superfood! Superfood my fucking arse.

Kind of what I meant. He probably just meant that they should be unhackable for enemy VIs, and if he hadn't been so sloppy and focused on his own excitement he'd have realized that's a terrible way to phrase it. That really is the kind of thing that happens all the time. From what I recall, the actual reason was that Farro - once more because of his hubris - had them install the highest military-grade encryption softward possible so that he could sell them as being "impervious" to enemy hacking... the engineers simply did too good of a job and unwittingly locked themselves out at the same time.
However it might not have been entirely their fault.
It's possible that the very glitch that caused the rogue swarm to begin converting all organic material into fuel, might have been also responsible for rendering their override codes useless or preventing from being recognised. The swarm was eventually shut down, but it required GAIA to spend two centuries brute forcing it.

On the subject of eyes... Don't take my picture. I do not know why but when someone takes my picture I get angry and want to destroy the camera.
Another one is that annoying I'm not touching you some kids pulled years ago... well this is my response:

This isn't normal for humans... I must be an alien.

Unpopular opinion: Marvel's X-Men formula of superpowers manifesting as a result of "evolution" is outdated.
I can see why it must have been cool and exotic back in the 60's when Darwinian theory started making headway in its war against Creationism in popular culture, but...
It'll be 2020 in a couple months. Evolution is never going to grant humanity superpowers over the course of a few hundred years. It was stupid ten reboots ago. Can we get a more interesting explanation?
Magic suffusing human DNA, nanotechnology designed to alter bodies, god-like aliens granting people powers and manipulating them into conflicts as a kind of fucked-up Research and Development for power utility, the last blood of majestic ancient civilizations brought to ruin by their own hubris...

I don't actually know if this is an unpopular opinion, but we don't have a 'is this weird' thread, so I'm putting it here.
It's weird to give your friend your own food utensils to eat with. I had dinner with a friend twice recently, and both times they offered me a bite of something they've ordered, which is fine and nice, but I had already finished my food and had nothing to grab the bite with. So they gave me their fork/chopsticks, that they've eaten their own food with before.
I went with it but it felt weird to me. I'm not squeamish, it just felt awkward on a social level.

I'm tired of the current societal trend of either affirming or denying people's thoughts based upon what arbitrary and capricious categories they are forced in. Ideas especially need to be discussed on their own merits and not on their creators'. I know this requires thought, which more and more people are more and more loathe to do, but anything else is just laziness and contempt.

Anything except "a bald guy in the wheelchair says it's scientific", please. That has been essentially the canon explanation in the comics for a while now.
The Celestials experimented on proto-humanity, tampering with our genome and rapidly accelerating our evolution as a species. The result not only caused Mutants to eventually manifest among the human population, but that we ended up in our present form in only a few ten thousand years, rather than the millions of years it should have taken.
Rather than Mutants being caused by the nuclear age, it was more due to the latter 20th century leading to an increase in human population and international travel, meaning that more people in the world had a chance of carrying the X-Gene than ever before in history.
The Inhumans similarly owe their existence to alien experimentation in the distant past. They were part of a secret project by the Kree Empire to create superpowered footsoldiers from primitive alien races, but when the project was abandoned as a dismal failure, the Kree forgot to wipe out their test subjects on Earth.

I think it's pretty sad that women have gone away from wearing long skirts on a daily basis. Pants are more practical, sure, but not in a way that makes any real difference for most of the occupations ladies tend to gravitate towards anymore. And I've always thought it complimented a woman's shape. Made her look feminine and elegant and dignified, while also making her marginally less distracting to be around compared to tight pants. In general, I think it's a shame that fashion mostly only goes one way. People have worn really slick and well-crafted clothes over the centuries, and it seems such a waste for all that taste and ingenuity to be relegated to old pictures and Renaissance-fairs. Tell me, wouldn't the world seriously be a nicer place to live in if it wasn't weird to see guys in early 20th-Century waistcoats and sixpence hats? For women to walk down the street under Irish kinsale cloaks? To watch local politicians going at it on the debate floor wearing colorful sashes and capes indicating their office and area of influence, so they're less hiding in suits and more standing in uniform to remind everyone that they're to be taken seriously and themselves who they're accountable to? Or better yet, Roman angusticlavia tunics? For police officers to patrol wearing 19th-century greatcoats, making them look big and stately and untouchable? And who wouldn't rather have their clothes lined with runic script or beautiful animal flourishes rather than stupid-sounding brand names? We're probably the most ugly and boringly dressed generation in five hundred years. Fuck that. One of the things I find really cool about the elves in Lord of the Rings is that their style evolved into such a chaotic mess over the millennia that they just gave up and went back to the most simple and pleasingly elegant aesthetic they'd ever had, and settled on that for good. Smart cookies, them. Let's do that. /rant The Celestials experimented on proto-humanity, tampering with our genome and rapidly accelerating our evolution as a species. The result not only caused Mutants to eventually manifest among the human population, but that we ended up in our present form in only a few ten thousand years, rather than the millions of years it should have taken. They were part of a secret project by the Kree Empire to create superpowered footsoldiers from primitive alien races, but when the project was abandoned as a dismal failure, the Kree forgot to wipe out their test subjects on Earth. That's pretty cool. And a huge source of existential drama for everyone in the setting. Why isn't all that in the movies yet? Ideas especially need to be discussed on their own merits and not on their creators'. I know this requires thought, which more and more people are more and more loathe to do, but anything else is just laziness and contempt. #rant Hmm. I'm reading your rant as either criticizing the dismissal of people's ideas based on the colors they're flying, or the school of thought immediately associated with the idea itself. If the former: There are a lot of ideas out there, and not always that much time or energy to think and discuss to the fullest. Half the point of choosing leaders to make decisions is that people have to establish themselves as credible before they get to demand that everyone else stop and listen to something they think is important. Otherwise all we'd be doing every day would be trying to process everyone else's half-baked ideas and never really get anywhere. Which is pretty much where we're getting to. If the latter: Totally agree. Facts, mechanics and complicated relationships don't give a damn which side of an imaginary aisle anybody stands on. If someone has understood something true and valuable about a situation then that's more important to recognize than what you vaguely imagine the person might otherwise mean by association or your instinct to oppose it.

That's pretty cool. And a huge source of existential drama for everyone in the setting. Why isn't all that in the movies yet? The Celestials have only lightly been touched upon in the MCU thus far.
Aside from Ego in GOTG2 and (technically) Quill, no other living Celestials have appeared outside of flashbacks. I felt I had to clarify "living" because we have seen characters go to Knowhere in several films, which is mentioned as being built into the decapitated head of a dead Celestial.
The Inhumans' origins as "failed experiments" has cropped up several times in Agents of Shield. In S3, the main villain was later revealed to have been the first Inhuman created and needless to say, we learn he has a major chip on his shoulder when it comes to the Kree.

The costume of people starting decades with the round numbers, instead of using the official calendar, annoys me to no end. Maybe it's because my primary language isn't english, so I didn't grew up callind the decades as X0's.

Because to a lot of people the decade starts in, let's say 90-99. Right now there's a bunch of list with the best game of the decade: 2010-2019, and I refuse it. The decade goes from 2011 to 2020. - Ah. Okay, good luck with that. Those (Julian, Gregorian) calendars were invented by people who were using Roman numerals. Unfortunately, due to the widespread use and standardization, we have to abide by some of those paradigms, even though we now use a decimal positional number system. However, modern four-digit year date systems recognizes year 0 as +0000 (== 1BC). Makes more sense to me. So I'm afraid according to that the first decade has to be year 0 to 9. π
