What would be interesting is a Vashoth apprentice to a very eccentric Magister, or a Saarebas who who was rescued by Imperial forces and is happy about it. I want to know how Tal-Vashoth and Vashoth fit into Imperial society or have been able to make themselves fit. That would be interesting but sadly I imagine they do not fair very well. For a start no one would trust them. They would not be a Tevinter citizen so would stand around the same level as a Liberati if they were not automatically made a slave. Individual Magisters might employ non-mages as bodyguards and take on a saarabas in the interests of research but they would be more likely end up in a Circle to be studied there and also used in experiments. Calpernia's short story makes it clear that is often the fate of slave mages and naturally the Circles would find them useful to test new weapons they wish to use against the Qun. They might even turn them into a new weapon to be used against the Qun but fully under the control of their Tevinter master. Of course, I will be happy enough if proved wrong.

I like a demon companion. A mage companion with the shapeshifter ability So Kitty from Origins? I'd vote for that...so long as I'm allowed to pet Kitty. And she looks like this

Not sure I’d want too many returning characters myself, but I’d definitely get behind Scout Harding.
Get behind the idea of her being in the party, I mean. Obviously. Ah-hem.

Bumppersonally this is my guess so far... [Mage] - Dorian or new Mage character
- Maevaris
- Finn
- Feynriel (although may be too powerful to be a party member)
[Rogue] - Isabela
- Tessa
- Tallis or New Rogue character
- Harding
[Warrior] - Marius
- Evangeline
- Fenris or New Warrior Character
- Crem
Agree with Maevaris, Krem, Harding and Feynriel. As much as I loved Isabella and Fenris, I think I’d prefer new characters. Also there’s too many complications if they bring back romanceable characters as more than npc’s. I do not want Tallis to return. It is way to immersion breaking when a character is directly modeled after a well known real person.

I really just want to have Finn back as a companion after his supposed hardening after the events of Witch hunt, like there's a lot of backstory and character (fussy upper-class parents who meddle in his life, the fact that he is a free mage traveling alongside a Dalish warrior) I can see him being in Tevinter (if DA4 actually is taking us there) for a variety of reasons, if he does come back I'd like him to get a new voice actor rather than Yuri Lowenthal and obviously delve more into his relationship with Ariane and his parents.

I kind of want a grizzled Tevinter-Templer Veteran. Someone who is more of a beat cop (best example that I can think of off the top of my head would be Hank from Detroit). Someone who does not have any powers, someone who is unlike any Chantry Templer we have seen, someone who is old in the tooth...and someone who is just as determined to right wrongs and reform the Imperium and might even be a little jealous of the power the Southern Templars have.

Its an old Interview but i doubt that Bioware have chance their minds. "PC Gamer: Fair enough. What is your criteria for determining which characters do come back? Actually, not simply from the dead, but I mean from game to game. Why would Varric make the cut and not somebody else? Mark Darrah: That's a good question. Some of it's based on just what the writers are excited about writing. But also, we look for a certain amount of balance between the character. There's a bunch of things that we're trying to do for balance. You want a certain degree of balance between the classes. You want a certain amount of balance between the genders and then a certain amount of balance between the romance options. If you've had a character in a previous game that was a romance option typically we won't bring them back because they carry a lot of extra baggage with them. You're not going to have a romance option come back and certainly not have them be a romance option again because there's a lot of baggage that comes with that. The player might get angry as well. “But they're in love with my previous character forever and ever and ever. How dare you?” I think there's validity to that. You can start to cross off a few characters because of that. We often don't bring back characters, at least not as followers, if they were previously romance options. You might see them. Alistair comes back because we can do cameos and have them have an influence on the story. But additionally, some characters, Varric's a very good character because one of Varric's primary motivations is he's the guy that's got your back. He's your friend. He's a very good character to have because it's good to have someone in your camp no matter what. That makes him a very attractive character. It makes him an interesting character to have because he offers a nice counterpoint to a lot of other kinds of characters. The other thing that causes us to bring someone back is someone that we're just simply not done with. That the arc is incomplete. Isabella between Origins and Dragon Age 2 is a good example of that. We introduced her, but there's just a lot more to be done with that. That's actually usually how we choose. Often characters move. We don't reuse followers very often. Obviously, we are reusing Varric. We typically promote secondary characters between games.PC Gamer: Right, so someone graduates from being a quest-giving NPC to being a companion. Mark Darrah: Yes." www.pcgamer.com/dragon-age-inquisition-interview-on-fan-feedback-romance-returning-characters-and-the-open-world/2/I don´t think that Krem is a candidate for DA 4 companions. He could die and would be very strange if Bioware would recton this. The Iron Bull won´t mistake Krem Ashes with another. But we will still get our transgender Companion. Its Maevaris.

I think you are right about Krem, though I’d still like for him to come back. Well we all have certain characters that we wish to comeback. The important question is does make sense Ingame?
Why should Krem return to Tevinter?
He has good reasons to stay away from Tevinter as far as possible.

Enough companions to allow a wider range of possible party designs (mechanically speaking).
Failing that, the option to create our own.

Wynne whose good spirit within her has been turned into evil in the Tevinter. Tallis enslaved in Tevinter, Solas spy saved by the hero. Barbarian man fog warrior sent by the archon to kill the hero. Varric without Bianca (the lady not the crossbow). Possible romance. Female Qunari Tal Vashoth warrior. Male Gray Warden mage. Templar female of the Tevinter.

Have I come into this thread to request a sylvan yet? Because if not: a sylvan.
Also the Horned Knight. I mean, companion might be a little weird, but please for the love of the sweet Maker above, let me make ill-advised bargains with a faerie king. Let me eat the food I shouldn’t eat and accept the gifts I should refuse. Let me win the game and save the day, only to be whisked away by the fair folk and trapped in their realm for all time, never to be seen on the face of Thedas again.
I know it’s structurally identical to any other demonic bargain in the games (since he is, in fact, a spirit), but it’s so thematically enchanted that I can hardly bear it.

Pretty sure that would be DA2 Anders. Demony, mage-y, much less sympathetic to Andrastianism, and serious 1000% of the time.

I absolutely suck at knowing the lore in Dragon Age (apart from bits and pieces), but as a change of pace, what if we have a Revenant companion? Maybe instead of a Desire or Lust demon housing the body, it is the spirit of Justice or Valor.

I haven't played Origins in forever, and I only did one playthrough so I don't remember all that much about it. It’s Justice from Awakening, inhabiting a Grey Warden warrior’s corpse. He spends a lot of the expansion super skeeved out about the idea of moving to a living host, but Anders talks him into it sometime between Awakening and DA2.
