I know your first run may be 2 years ago, but try to remember approximately how many hours you invested in beating the game, that is, completing the main quest minus any JoH or Descent time you might have inserted in between, the first time? If you played on PC and still have it, consult your milestone save game file.
This poll is primarily about your pace of playing DAI blind for the first time, but there is a secondary goal of getting a real world estimate of how many hours of play time are in DAI, as an average.

According to my milestone save game, 182 hours. And I completely skipped the Emerald Graves, because I wanted to save something for my second run.

If you inserted a DLC in between those two points, try to subtract that DLC time.

My first game results are skewed because I was literally going everywhere in slow motion due to a weak video card. Game time is basically showing as twice as long as normal, so I voted 150+ hours since that's about how long every other run has taken me with normal play speed. When I add in higher difficulty and DLCs, a single game gets up to 180-200 hrs. In real time, it takes me ~5-6 wks for a single PT.

My first run was something like 115-120 hours. No DLC.
My character ended up being someone I didn't like very much, lol. But it was still a good run.

The very first time (pre-DLC), I can't say for sure, since that save got annihilated, but I want to say I finished up in the 70-79 area. I bailed on stuff like the shard collection, never killed a single dragon, completely skipped over the Hissing Wastes and Emprise du Lion, most of the Exalted Plains and did not finish the Western Approach or Emerald Graves. It was not a very focused playthrough. >.<
Edit: Origin says I now have 438 hours played. I've started several alts who largely languished in the Hinterlands and only completed the game one other time; clearly it was more comprehensive than the first. XD

I'd say my first PT was around 180 hours. <-- I did everything. Every side mission, all potion upgrades, all collections, etc. Finished her PT before all three DLCs got out, with DLCs it's 260 hours. (rounded up)

I have notes so I can tell you exactly. don't judge me It took 106 hours, - 5 for Jaws of Hakkon, - 5 for The Descent and - 6 for Trespasser = 90 hours total. That's without doing Hissing Wastes, Emprise du Lion, Exalted Plains and most of Crestwood, all of which I saved for the second playthrough. I've just played again if anyone cares, no JoH or The Descent this time = 100 hours including Trespasser and without doing Emerald Graves, most of the Hinterlands, Forbidden Oasis, Western Approach, Fallow Mire and The Storm Coast. So much geek.

What's all this nonsense about skipping the Emerald Graves? That's one region I'd never skip. I love that region. I'm actually in the midst of the Emerald Graves with my current Inquisitor. I have all of the initial quests south of the river completed, so the "serious bidness" up north is about to go down.
My original playthrough was 109 hours. I recall distinctly because I'd just finished completing both AC Rogue and AC Unity before playing DAI. They had released in consecutive weeks. In retrospect, I was nearly burnt out by the time I got halfway through DAI. I recall being really impressed with it at around 40 hours, and starting to get very fatigued at 80. By the time I finished, I was tired of it, and nitpicking its "flaws".
The game does have some weaknesses, and they were more glaring before the DLCs helped patch them up a bit. Also, knowing in which order to attack the various regions helps. There is no way to know this in an initial playthrough, but narrative continuity is very uneven if the regions aren't played in a certain order. Lastly, one has to play the game with patience. My first time through, I was trying to rush through to see how the story unfolded, but also trying to sate my completionist compulsion. That was a recipe for frustration. Now, I enjoy the game at the whatever pace time allows. It's a long game, and it can take some time to complete.

I spent 639 hours with DAI (I have 2 finished playthroughs, and five in progress)
DAO: 217 hours according Origin (2 finished, and some just started), but I have 1-2 finished Warden pre-Origin, so: I don't know; DA2: 410 hours (yes, so much).

I have no idea how so many of you are getting 100+ hour playthroughs. I dilly dallied like crazy, completed all the DLC, and still only had around ~79 hours by the time I completed Trespasser. Remove JoH (which completely bored me and probably added a considerable amount of time spent alt-tabbed), Descent, Trespasser, and we're talking about an easy 50 hours needed to complete the main game. Are you guys literally just reading everything and spending hours collecting nirnroot?

^ I wonder the same thing. My first playthrough was about 60 hours but I missed a lot (I always do on my first run). Still I only got about 100 hours on my completionist playthrough, but now I'm playing a lot faster because I know where to go and what to find where (which is a shame, really. I wish I could 'unplay' this game so I could experience it all for the first time again).
I just checked my Xbox One app and it tells me I have 657 hours in game... which is a lot considering I got the Xbox in June 2015. Seeing as I have about 5 finished playthroughs and a lot who stranded in the Hinterlands or just after reaching Skyhold, I think 100 hours per playthrough is pretty accurate.

Uhhh....good question. I was so enchanted, so willing to explore all I could while still being hindered by my inexperience. But I also wanted to rush through the main campaign so I can get to see the important bits that I can improve upon in later playthroughs.
So....50 to 68 hours? 45? I have no idea, but I am fairly certain it was less than 70.

65 hours on Normal Mode. Did NOT include: any DLCs, star puzzles, intentional getting of collectibles (there was some accidental getting), the shards, black emporium adjustments, the hissing wastes at all (because I didn't know how to get there somehow.) I did skip Viv's wyvern heart quest, because at that point, her verbal abuse of Cole had ticked me off more than any other companion ever but I'm sure even if I had, it wouldn't have taken more than another half hour. also only killed a single dragon, no potio upgrades, and hardly ay crafting at all. like, twice.
