You need to work hard to trigger combos as Tempest Archer. You can go with Full Draw to put target to sleep then follow with Long Shot. When/if you are overwhelmed with melee mooks throw Knockout Powder to put them to sleep use Flask of Fire and then spam Shadow strike or Long Shot. Each sleeping mook you hit will trigger combo and build up your focus.

Sometimes it immediately triggers focus, sometimes it does not.

It triggers combo when you hit frozen target with long shot when you activate flask of frost and freeze it. You obviously don't know how combo mechanics work; what skills are primers and what are detonators.

It triggers combo when you hit frozen target with long shot when you activate flask of frost and freeze it. So I trigger it when the target had time to freeze, and I do not when they did not?

You freeze target with flask of frost skill (freeze it entirely, not just chill it). Target who are immune to freezing can't be frozen, just chilled, targets who are not immune will be frozen immediately. You can trigger shatter combo with long shot only by hitting frozen targets, not chilled. This is just in this specific case, there are more primers and detonators; every class have them both.

You have planty equipment with healing and guard generation, crafting isn't mandatory for any difficulty below nightnare, as well as healing spells. You can also get amulet that generates barrier on hit for non mages. You will know when cross class combo is triggered when time slows for a second or two. To generate focus with combos triggered beteeen party members you must upgrade rift ability. And I want a healer, real reliable healer with spells not gear and consumables. the two are not equivalent. Gear does not watch my health and then apply spell. Consumables are nonrenewable. Guard won't fix your health on demand. Healer is way better. It's not about wanting to do a higher difficulty level, it's about wanting healers that we had in EVERY DA game, except for DA3. No, my rift ability is not upgraded, so it only relies on my character's own combos to generate focus for the thinggie. No, gear isn't like someone with a heal spell. It's better more powerful. No cooldown, no manna, and everybody can have it.

And you have to find some recipe for it, and materials, and craft it, while the spell is in the spellbook from the get go and will upgrade in a good time as you level up and there are versions of them that you can use depending on the circumstances, HoT, AoE or burst heals, ads well as your wards. Also, HoK only heals the character that kills the target, not the characters that NEED it. Is it that hard to understand what I want? Not what you like, but what I want? I. Simply. Want. Healers. Back. I Do. Not. Want. To. Craft.

Well, this isn't CoD game, where you only need to track your ammo count... I have never tried CoD, but Crafting has only become a large part of BioWare game in mid two thousands because, I assume it was popularized by Betshada or maybe to address complaints that credits/gold just piled up. In the old games all gear came from what you've killed, and I like it this way. I find crafting/gathering really boring and prefer to reduce my difficulty setting and just play the game in gear drops. I crafted a bow a couple times in Inquisition because there is nothing really good, and that's more than enough for me. Overall, I prefer less inventory/junk/consumables busy games with less elaborate builds, so, yeah, I like DA2, ME2/3 and MEA way more than DA3. And I could not stand the two Betshada games I tried with the incessant picking junk, recycling it, and crafting galore. It's just not my thing. I like adventure, picking favourites, relationships, descisions, cool animations and thrill, not artisanship and off-line study and copying or crunching numbers. So, yeah, I am happier in SP games where I can drop the difficulty and don't have to worry about gear. And I don't like being forced to craft because I can't have a healer.

Fact is that there AREN'T healing spells in this game, there IS crafting system and you have two options... - like I said in MP section, stop whining and learn to play the game how it's made - stop playing it
This game is made for heavy usage of tactical pausing, micromanaging and gear changing. Crafting isn't mandatory, you can beat the game (especially on lower difficulties) just soloing with your Inquisitor and buying new weapon each few levels with no need to heal at all.

It's not about managing the game, it's about wanting something that I like. But I have decided to stop playing it anyhow, so I just hope they will bring real healing back and cut back on the crafting in the next game & make it overall more exciting to play. OMG, UNINSTALLING.

Anything abot mage gameplay. Mostly the limited skill tree and no healing. Rogue and warrior were pretty godd though.

Sigh.
My biggest gripe with Inquisition combat is that even the most mundane battles take forever. Enemies have huge health bars which not only make combat slow but also make it seem as if I'm not doing anything: whether special abilities or auto-attack, nothing seems to have much of an effect.
I miss the days when I would face a mage, think "oh #@%*," and see my entire party die in mere seconds because the asshole cast Inferno. Those were the days.

Combos are the key. When I played for the first time, it was like wtf, but I adapted quickly, but didn't know all things yet. After 3k hours of MP I started NM playthrough with trials on. It feels easier than my first playthroigh on Normal even when regular mooks have around 20k HP.

I had my first playthrough with a mage and it was ok on normal. I struggled with some of the dragons, but nothing major. I didn't bother much with crafting, except for my mage.
But now I'm playing with a rogue and the game is getting damn hard since the beginning, not sure why. I just faced some red templars in crestwood and the party consumed 7 potions in just this one fight. Blackwall almost died, and that guy is a walking tank. Trying to aim as a rogue is quite difficult, because the skill animations are very clumsy. Also, micromanaging all the time is quite boring, but if I don't do it, mages will waste the barrier. And I also have this trouble with companions just freezing. I'm there fighting and I think they're just behind me and then I look back and they're STANDING AROUND DOING NOTHING. Maybe I didn't have this problem before because I was attacking ranged?
I miss healers too. I hate when companies try to enhance difficulty by REMOVING CONTENT. It's just dumb.
My party is me - Blackwall - Dorian - Vivienne

^ Are you playing with trials on? Trials can screw party members behavior, enemies as well. Just give "Attack my target" command and they will be back to normal behavior. Funny thing is that healing spells aren't gone, just transformed to potions. Same goes with Rock armor and offensive/deffensive sustained skills from previous games.

But the game already had potions before, so you can't really say healing transformed in something if it already existed, LOL. Not only they took away healing as a magic, but they limited the healing potions. And no, my trials are all off. I noticed it's happening mainly with the group warrior, and I found a lot of people with the same issue. It seems a work around is to assume control of the warrior and then jump, and then he'll come back to normal, but still it's pretty dumb.

Regular healing potions yes, but Healing Mist and Regeneration potions act almost identically as healing spells from DA:O. Same goes for other things I mentioned. To add more changes; Death Syphon and Stonefist are now exclusive to certain specializations, Haste is even focus powered. It was odd to me at start as well, but like I said, I adapted to mechanics changes. It's worth to mention that I heavily relied on tactics in all 3 games; I left AI behavior for all party members blank and used skills as I saw fit, so your experience is for sure totally different.

That's another problem of Inquisition: It greatly diminished tactics. I can't just put "cast wall of fire when enemies are aligned" or "use mind blast if surrounded", I have to micromanage all the time because I can't give these kind of orders anymore. But "normal healing" was pretty much all that was left. These "regeneration" healings had already disappeared in DA2. Now we don't even get normal healing spells. It's stupid storywise too, because people still talk about "mage healers", but no mage can actually heal, LOL.

Wall of fire tip: Always cast it between your party and enemies, it's more effective that way. Put Line in the Sand in front of it and Wall of Ice behind enemies. Then bombard them while they running back and forth in panic. Will test how mind blast work later because, like I said, I turned off all AI and TBH never took it in singleplayer. I play with friendly fire on and tend to kill enemies from dostsnce. About healer mages, they are there, party mages are just restricted to only revival spell for whatever reason. And to be clear, i'm not trying to justify lack of healing spells, I'm just saying that you can play without them effectively.
