Still, Ciri obviously didn't want to become Empress. Unless encouraging her to be one brings out a different side in her. The only moment my girl Ciri ever pulled an Empress on me was at the end right before she fought "The Cold" or whatever it was. I think I had Geralt express concern and she was like, "What do you know, you've only ever been a Witcher!" I was like. Ouch. Stab to the heart The only ending I like in TW3 is Witcher Ciri. It's pulled off quite well and makes sense. I haven't experienced empress Ciri ending, but on paper it makes zero sense. And the 'bad' ending makes even less sense given her character. The writers lost their way at the end and massive content was cut in development, so they were stitching the narrative together at that point. The whole idea about Geralt coddling Ciri or letting her go on her own was a great concept, but I didn't really get it because the signposting on the decisions wasn't clear enough. Anywhoo, not to turn this into a TW3 thread... One question though, why do you think the Empress ending makes no sense?

I think I had Geralt express concern and she was like, "What do you know, you've only ever been a Witcher!" I was like. Ouch. Stab to the heart. While I don't believe it's what she wants, Geralt doesn't encourage her to do anything. He tells her she may want to hear her father out and only after my choice had been it's up to you and she pressed him for his opinion. That's it. She makes the choice herself... I felt like it was a bit sad to watch that ending. But still made it my canon choice. Below are what determines Ciri's fate, choose the right options and she sees it as her responsibility to become empress is my understanding and the ending I always aim for. This is from VG247: www.vg247.com/2015/12/22/the-witcher-3-how-to-get-the-best-ending/Ciri’s fate is determined by the following seven factors: How you comforted her during Blood on the Battlefield Whether you visited the Emperor during Blood on the Battlefield Whether you accepted coin from the Emperor for bringing Ciri to him in Blood on the Battlefield Whether you accompanied Ciri to a meeting with the Lodge of Sorceresses during Final Preparations How you reacted to Ciri’s temper in The Child of the Elder Blood Whether you took Ciri to Skjall’s Grave as a result of a choice in The Child of the Elder Blood Your completion of the sidequest chain An Eye for an Eye, A Deadly Plot, Redania’s Most Wanted (Act Two) and Reason of State (Act Three)

I'm admittedly conjecturing here as I haven't experienced it, and I won't until I replay the game (spoilers). But given her character in the books, Ciri as a ruler? No way. Maybe CDPR made it work, but I'll have to see it for myself. The truth is they did a very surface depiction of her book character.

Haven't played recently enough to cite examples I think what Geralt ultimately wants for Ciri is what any non-horrible father would want for their child: for her to be happy, even if that means her following in his footsteps. Out of the options available, following the Witcher's path and living free is clearly what she truly wants. Nilfgaard can go fuck itself and make do without her forcing herself to rule it out of a misguided sense of duty and/or responsibility. She's already saved the world, I think she's more than earned the right to live her life in whatever way she wants and makes her happy.

Hey Babar Guy I honestly don't remember but does she ever say that she wants the witchers life? In the empress ending she seems happy with the choice she has made so I was never unhappy that I got that ending. I just watched the Ciri witcher ending on you tube and I agree its a good ending, personal choice I guess as to a favourite I suppose

Kimbolt is an ass. I'm getting the distinct feeling these people weren't availble on Iorveth's path.
Cool that Anais finally talked. Essentially, name cleared.

There's at least two additional quests they added as DLC, you might be running into those. One of them is an Indian Jones style quest with Cynthia. Very fun.

Nice of Roche to unilaterally decide Triss can be sacrificed.
Neat, I get to find out why Boussy died. Sad to be in a world where having a penis gives you a better claim to the throne.

In the end, I randomly Aard'd the mage into unconsiosness and insta killed him. Did the same to a 2nd. And a third. And then the final guy, I whacked his shield over and over until my adrenaline bar filled, and then insta killed him.
I then accidentally skipped a question I wanted to ask, not knowing it would end the conversation. So I guess I'll go look that up online so I have the information, anoying Witcher Dialogue tree. Bioware totally does navigating dialogue trees better.
