Looking to talk about Harry Potter? Look no further..... I miss talking about how awesome the books are and how ok the movies are. I haven't had a marathon of either in a long time. Here's the coolest bit of Potterhead-dom I own. I have a picture with them too. Attachment Deleted

Took my friends 5 years of convincing before I would read the books. I'm glad they were so persistent, cause I enjoyed the hell out of em! But they will never convince me to read the new one!!!! ... Also Hagrids the real hero of the story.

How do you guys feel about The Cursed Child? Personally I have to try my hardest to pretend it didn't happen - very disappointed. But I have some friends who really liked it and I'm wondering if there's any kind of consensus in the fandom at large.

Cursed Child felt very fanfic-y for me. Maybe the play itself is better, but the book/script didn't have the same aura of the other books.

Potterheads thread, yay! Cursed Child... I don't really have an opinion, I haven't looked into it much and know nothing of it, honestly. But for the new films, those I'm super excited about! What about you guys, how d'you feel about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them?

Fantastic Beasts looks really good! I think prohibition-era America is a really interesting backdrop for wizard hijinks, and Eddie Redmayne seems like a great fit for Newt Scamander.

I really liked the potter series as a child but somehow being exposed to more grim fictional works later on meant that I felt HP was rather juvenile in its portrayal of several aspects of the story, be it the relationships, the stigma against muggles, the portrayal of death, crime etc and the way the final books tied the plot together. I also felt like the magic could've been a bit more imaginative especially in the later books although that's just the way I see it.
However, they're still highly entertaining nevertheless and I'll always have that nostalgia factor with the HP books. Has anyone heard the Philosophers stone audiobook from audible btw? Heard it's pretty good!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
More like Harry Potter Goes Back to the Future.
I grew out of Harry Potter ages ago. It was a little too... idealistic for me.
Personally, I never get why Harry didn't just requisition a high power rifle to use on Voldemort. Won't kill him, but it won't leave much of head left either.

Ravenclaw4life I'm not touching Cursed Child. Summary alone put me off. Besides... What happened with "I'm leaving Harry's story as it is"? Though I'm looking forward to Fantastic Beasts. Looks awesome.

I think I'll vote for 4. Or 6. Dammit really hard. One of those 2 tho.

My favourite is definitely the third one, The Prisoner of Azkaban. It's the only one I've read multiple times, meaning, back few years ago I once read it like three times a week But yeah, third one is my fav, and the seventh is a close second

So many things were setting the stage for the end, especially why Voldemort does the things he does.... so much time with Dumbledore after he purposefully avoided Harry all through the 5th one....Ginny and Harry's love story....Ron and Hermione's angst..... I just love it

The one with "Prison" stuff and the one with Harry's "uncle" and wizard minister scandal and certain "main professors deaths". Truly my memory is golden!
I would be disappointed if J.K.R didn't finish the series and wanted to write another book when the main villain is dealt with.

It's really close between Goblet of Fire and Half-blood Prince but I gave it to Half-blood Prince.
The Dumbledore stuff and all the budding romances win out.
