Best Armour/weapon for killing that thing in descent

So that rock wraith/titan thing in The Descent is killing me.

I've tried some strategies which haven't worked. Mind you my play style is usually point n'shoot with my eyes closed.

So, please, have pity on the poor and give strategies and tips for weapons and armour schematics and materials.

I need to beat this furging thing for my own wellbeing.



Never mind - I got it. Just found some everite (i think) which gave me 5 guard for every hit. My mage killed the thing on his own, bless him.
