(never happening) 2020-2021 release? I'd be a bit worried, actually. Some secret project that happens soon after a DA4? Yikes. And more likely if anything happens, it'd be a trilogy remaster or.. ahem.. mobile game. Funny enough, I'm not sure if I'd want a mobile game.. but its increasingly because I probably don't have the phone specs for it. I'm sad about myself!
2022-2023? I sure hope so. I really do. Early-mid in a new console gen just sounds appropriate. But Bioware has to not faff about for years to make this happen. If it can though, I can cross fingers for something of a followup to MEA (while still moving forward) 5-6 years from that game isn't enough to ignore its plot threads.
2024-2025? I really don't want this, even if I think its possible. A whole other phase to my life, my care for the series faded, a likely another soft reboot or even more, so many risks. Bleh!
Make DA4, then take a few years to do this right, and release early 2020s. Otherwise, ME will just be a series I go "oh yeah, it was something cool back then" until I'm shown the best pre-release footage in my life.
In regards to DA4 releasing 2022, I don't easily see it. God, that's so long 'sitting on their hands/the product'. Can't it at least aim for 2020 and push to 2021 if necessary? Ew, 2022.

^ If longer time means a better product then there should be no issue. I know cases like Andromeda exist in regards to that sentiment, but there are many more cases where rushed projects are funneled through due to fan demand and easy cash grabs.
A 2020 announcement with a 2023 tentative release would be the most appropriate. I wonder if a remastered trilogy on new gen consoles would mean a possibility of "ME5" carrying over decisions from it, and would warrant Bioware to consider the story in regards to such.

I agree that longer dev time should mean better product. But if they plan on doing s sequel to MEA they'll have to do a Genesis like opening to account for decisions. I dont want a ME5 to carry on directly from the trilogy. That story is done.

More time doesn't always mean better products. Look at Anthem, it started development 7 years ago, was scrapped a few times, and the only real development on the game was in the last 18 months. You can have all the time in the world, but if you don't have a plan, or any sort of direction for the project, then it won't matter. With Andromeda, they were going in circles, and wrestling with Frostbite's limitations and quirks until Mac Walters jumped onboard to help guide the team to getting the project finished and shipped.

Agreed. And while I enjoy the game a perfect example of long dev time not releasing a perfect game is Duke Nukem Forever. It was in development hell for 20 years. Still it felt like a DN game and I enjoyed it but it could have been better.

Only proper way to Vanguard Odd to see a Vanguard with a blue shield bar It is pull+throw and then charge, yes? How did you make that guy not blow up from the combo detonation?

Its not mine, I was wondering also, if the throw wasnt 400% time one, probably wasnt. Thats why there was no biotic explosion. That would've sent chosen to orbit

If it bombs then BioWare will have a real tough time getting back up. Anthem isn't the deciding factor here. But at least they are fixing it. Many companies wouldn't care they'd just count it as a loss.

Just saw YongYea do a video talking about several veteran Devs leave BioWare for a new studio, including that Karpyshyn guy who was lead writer for Mass Effect. With BioWare doubling down on Anthem and Mass Effect vets leaving, it's starting to seem like the franchise is losing it's future for good.

Drew left years ago now, and hasn’t been involved with Mass Effect since ME2.
