I don't have much experience playing a warrior in DAO so I don't know if these specs conflict with each other. If they work, would S&S or 2H be better? Or should I just pick one or the other?

No idea about the numbers, but both specializations involve a lot of yelling...

I remember using that combo with a S&S warrior. It's been a while since that playthrough, but I don't think I had a problem. I played as a tank, with the berserker talents adding just a bit more damage than I'd have otherwise.

No idea about the numbers, but both specializations involve a lot of yelling... Excellent! Lady Aeducan loves yelling at people! I remember using that combo with a S&S warrior. It's been a while since that playthrough, but I don't think I had a problem. I played as a tank, with the berserker talents adding just a bit more damage than I'd have otherwise. Awesome. My current Warden has a very Champion-esque personality but I didn't want to miss out on that sweet dwarf spec.

I think it should work fine. I had a two-handed Orlesian Berserker-Champion in Awakening and it was pretty good. You'd have the damage boost from Berserk and a great knockdown from upgraded War Cry, plus Champion can buff the whole party. Maybe take Berserker first as most of the Champion abilities have a high level requirement.

Specializations in Origins are a much smaller aspect of character building than in the later games, in my experience.
That said, I generally make Loghain a Champion/Berserker in my runs where I recruit him, and he does well enough with it.

They're a smaller element, but I still try to tailor them to the character and my preferred playstyle. Good to know Loghain does well with that combo. I'll be dragging him along as soon as I get him.
