I've mentioned before that I like to not have to play multiplayer to get the platinum trophy for the game. Why? One reason is because of MEA. There was a trophy that required I go play multiplayer. Before I could do that, I had to be a playstation plus member. Luck must have been on my side because playstation offered a free 48 hour trial period. Ok. 5 minutes later I got the trophy and platinum trophy. Had that free trial not popped up, I would have had to pay $10 for one month to get that trophy. I would not have done that. I would just have to deal with not getting the platinum trophy. I would like to have it like DAI. I got the platinum trophy twice(ps3/4) without having to play multiplayer. So, yeah, that's my wish. Not having to play multiplayer to get the platinum trophy.

yeah that's exactly that. always found it weird. You should pick off the mages first. That's the taunt working its magic.

Couple of ideas.
For any mage Origin type story Bio should make us a character whose magic has just bloomed. I know it usually happens in puberty ( I think) but it'd be really neat and would explain why they weren't a magisterium or in the circle and why they need to learn spells.
Second in regards to character synergy it'd be interesting if we had other companions just able to help you out of different classes. Like you're a rogue, you can sneak and stuff...but you don't have magic...your mage companion meanwhile has a spell that can dull sound making it easier to traverse.

It'd be neat if the game defaulted us to an older protagonist. I don't actually think that this will/should necessarily happen, but it's a neat idea after Origins (all of them) and Hawke all starting out as younger than 25. The Inquisitor was the only one with a lot of wiggle room, being anywhere between "20 to 40".
That said I'm not on board with the idea of mages only discovering their magic for the first time when they're, like, 40+. There's nothing in the lore to really support that, unless it's part of Solas destroying the Veil and all of a sudden your warrior/rogue is puking fireballs.

So, I was researching dog collars in DA wiki and came across Pure Bitch Braid. Trademark of The Line, an ancient monastic order dedicated to preserving a purebred strain of mabari. There have been four "Pure Bitch" designations during the last century, legendary hounds each.I wouldn't mind visiting their headquarters in future. Since Mabari were originally bred by the Formari, I wonder if the Line is still affiliated with Circles? Imagine visiting a Circle inhabited by dogs and mages. Considering the amount of exercise large dogs need, they'd probably be located somewhere remote for ease of outdoor activities. It reminds me about the Great St. Bernard hospice and monastery in the Swiss Italian Alps that had bred St. Bernards for mountain rescue dogs. Here's a blog post about visiting the monastery.

There's, uh, there's room for improvement. For that artist. it says on their tumblr that it was a piece from a few years back, so they might've improved over that time and if not *shrugs* it's their piece, not everyone has to like the style or the level of expertise
I myself draw occasionally as well, and while I often get some compliments concerning my pieces, I often feel like I'm lacking
(which often results in people telling me I'm to hard on myself link judge for yourself...my last piece is from 2017)

From those who had a chance to play some of The Last of Us II, they noted that enemies in camps can have personal connections with one another. They call each other out by name, can scream things like "You killed my wife!", and so on. And that adds to the experience in a number of ways.
Now in Dragon Age, personal connections among your allies has been a staple in every game, no question. But not among your enemies.
Outside of Loghain and Ser Cauthrien, I'm struggling to think of any others who had those kinds of connections with one another.
This is one area I think BW could definitely improve on to help make more well-rounded antagonists.

The guards will scream out 'oh God...Matt is down!' And I agree those kinds of combat barks could be interesting. Not sure if it would be really Dragon Age's cup of tea...at least given what has been typical DA fare till this point...that stuff is probably better for a more stealthy game...but then maybe DA 4 will do things like that.

Even beyond combat barks (which you'd likely have to limit to more key encounters in an Open-ish World game), fleshing out the more important antagonists with close friends, family, etc., like PCs have with their allies would help a lot.

I feel like everything under the sun has been mentioned already, so I guess I would like the Solas plotline to reach its conclusion in Dragon Age 4, so that we aren't simply left with more questions. It would be nice to get a lot of info on subjects like the blight, the Black City, the Titans, the Elvhen gods, the Forgotten ones, the Forbidden ones and pretty much every other subject that we have little information but a lot of speculation at the moment. Surely that wouldn't be TOO much to ask? *Makes cute puppy eyes*

The main reason I want to see more death scenes in Dragon Age is less about builds and more about branching. Players like to say “I wish I could have chosen <dramatic action xyz>” for certain main plotline choices, e.g. refusing the Inquisition. If dead ends become normalized, then dramatic choices can be offered as an option... with the not-Inquisitor quickly falling to the angry mob outside. It would also add real weight to auto-picking The Most Heroic Option in every conversation, because there would be a nonzero chance that the player will be punished for picking it. The non-Inquisitor could have been an interesting dlc. Sort of like 'The Darkspawn Chronicles' except from the POV of the pc who refused to join the Inquisition as opposed to a darkspawn/Cory minion. Would Haven have survived if you didn't stay? Interesting musings. Hmmm, there might be a short story in there somewhere.

For any mage Origin type story Bio should make us a character whose magic has just bloomed. I know it usually happens in puberty ( I think) but it'd be really neat and would explain why they weren't a magisterium or in the circle and why they need to learn spells. Would lock us into a certain age group, but I guess ORigins did that with the Mage tower Origin. Not necessarily. I've got some ideas . . . - You're from a poor family. An accident in your early teens put you into something like a coma - somewhere between vegetative and non-vegetative. Enough semblance of awareness to give your mother hope no matter how difficult life becomes. Your parents can't afford the healers. The accident caused injuries that require a lot of delicate healing magic and that doesn't come cheap. Some so-called healers said best just to kill you, one said that maybe care and a lot of time would eventually provide a cure. Eventually your mother's love is rewarded, you're at least in your early twenties and while learning to walk again your innate magic begins to awaken.
- Somebody doesn't like your family's political views or that they are gaining popularity. (They could even simply hate your family more in the nature of a long-standing feud.] Rather than resort to outright violence - which could make your parents martyrs but still on the table as a last resort- they decide to divert your family's attention, such as why their only child isn't showing signs of magic that seemed so likely when you were young. Side benefit to the bad guys: if this works (assuming some more obscure magic that can't be easily tracked) then a whole range of evil options is open to them. Hawking a 'cure' to the 'illness' and gaining adherents. Helping specific families in order to forge grateful alliances that couldn't be achieved in any other way. And so on . . .
| Whether by magic or some other means, this would require some sort of renewal. Unless the magic could be tied to a particular object, in essence held captive. You are otherwise growing and learning how to live w/o magic. You learn to fight, making your body strong. You could even toy w/ becoming a templar so you can protect yourself and your politically weakened family from magic attacks.
As you become older and stronger, maybe the magic holding you back weakens or the vessel tying yours up is broken or the bad guys have fallen in the world and can no longer sustain the binding. Or even, having achieved their objective of forcing your parents into obscurity decide to better invest their money and efforts elsewhere. |
- Your family loves you. However, they do not love and they are afraid of magic. They've seen what happens to mages who come from non-mage families and don't want that for their beloved offspring. The minute they think you might be like Mom's second cousin twice removed, they begin to plan their well-meaning campaign to destroy your magic. When you get a bad case of the flu, it gives them a golden opportunity to introduce something new for 'your health.' Your breakfast tea and your bedtime posset contain traces of magebane (or something). Your brothers and sisters share in the routine, but they don't get the magebane. You work hard and are happy on your family's small farm. When your parents die, you mourn. However, as years of magebane flush out of your system, strange things begin to happen.
Now, even in Tevinter, uncontrolled mages are not a good thing. You are well past the age when you should begin exhibiting magical abilities and undergo training. Instead, people see you as a mage without the ability to control your magic or, arguably worse, without the desire to control your magic.
I figure these scenarios could at least take you into your twenties, maybe even to thirty or so. I think a normal late bloomer would probably still be in their late teens.

For fans to give DA4 a chance and not to judge it as a because some idiot youtubers and streamers say it is, because all they want is views and attention to their channels.

The particle effects reaching Super Saiyajin levels in DA4 could be cool, I guess? lol Trespasser was already pretty good. Trespasser has a crappy story, though.

The particle effects reaching Super Saiyajin levels in DA4 could be cool, I guess? lol Trespasser was already pretty good. Trespasser has a crappy story, though. Depends on if the Inquisitor is returning as the protagonist or not. If they aren't and it is some new character, I completely agree with you.
