Well still waiting on Half-Life 3. So as long as the game beats its production I say it isn't long enough.

Eh, you can't really call it vaporware yet, since we only learned about it, what, last summer? And it's a newer IP. I've read somewhere about some video games that take up to a decade to get a sequel or green light.
Hell, I doubt Valve will ever make any sequels in the foreseeable future, for example.

Well still waiting on Half-Life 3. So as long as the game beats its production I say it isn't long enough. Given Marc Laidlaw's retirement in 2016, and Chet Faliszek's resignation last year, I think that Valve has put the HL3 on the shelf indefinitely. Especially given that Valve has explicitly stated that none of their senior staff wants to spend time or effort developing new single-player games; they're more focused on continuing to push Steam, and working on hardware. I don't see HL3 realistically coming out.

That many years and it’s only a multiplayer kind of game and not a “real” rpg like the classical Bioware games they’re used to? LOOOOL. That’s truly hilarious.

That many years and it’s only a multiplayer kind of game and not a “real” rpg like the classical Bioware games they’re used to? LOOOOL. That’s truly hilarious. We have only had one 7-minute trailer (and a short related teaser). And there's a significant (credible) writing team working on this game. Time will tell, but is it not premature to reach such a definitive assessment of what the game 'is'?

Look at Beyond Good and Evil 2 or at M&B 2: Bannerlord.
Bannerlord is in production for last 8 years(?) without any ETA about the release date and BGAE2 is in production for more than 13 years and if we can believe what we hear in 2017 it's still in pre-production state.
So for me, 7 years is not a long time to create a game.

How much of that 7 years was Bioware going back and forth on the scope of the game?
I have a feeling that Anthem started out as a SP game but after the release of Destiny, The Division and general popularity of MP, decided to change the scope of Anthem to be MP focused.

It will have had more development time by a way bigger team than Warframe. It will be interesting to see how it will compare content wise, especially number of Javelins vs number of Warframes and how individual their powers are.

It won't compare at all, BioWare has more things to consider during development then what Warframe does. If Anthem launches in the same condition as Warframe the game will be ripped to shreds for Warframe was an unplayable mess for the longest time with less depth then Mass Effect 3 MP. I have no idea what it is like now since I stopped playing after waiting six weeks for customer support to try and fix my account.

Well, the present day Warframe is not buggier than ME3MP or MEAMP and offers a ton of content - more 30 different warframes with 4 unique active and one passive power each. This is the game's state after the same amount of dev time as Anthem had and Anthem will most likely be sold at a premium AAA price, so it's not unreasonable to expect it to be clearly better in some aspects than a free to play game, I think.

If you are going to compare Warframe as it is now after being released for seven years with an unknown development time. What about the release version of Warframe that only had eight frames after for argument sake a three year development cycle. So over seven years they have added an additional 20 plus frames. The benefit of things like frames and mech suits is they are easy to add into a game post release unlike the fundamental things people are watching Anthem for such as single player content, story, and characters. Those are harder to add in and improve post launch. That is where BioWare is hopefully putting their focus because that is what the majority of people are going to be looking for the most and not how many frames they have especially when things like skills can be done in multiple different ways.

7 years is perfectly reasonable, they're work with a new engine and it's a brand new IP! What exactly were you expecting? Hell look at Star Citizen, began development in 2011 and their crowd funding has almost reached 200 million....AAA games are hard to make dude.

Your tense makes no sense.
The past, it has passed.
Can't beget what ain't happened yet.
In other words, Anthem didn't "took" anything to make, at least not yet.

new IP + new engine = lots of time 7 years is fine. ...with lots of scrapped concepts and internal reboots most likely or years with hiatus.

With sausages, good sausages from the butcher aren't disgusting at all. Mass produced supermarket sausages probably are, but butcher sausages are fine. However hot dog crap is fricken feral. Compare the two videos below, one is a properly made sausage which is fine, and the other is how hotdogs are made, which looks like meat batter at one point *shudders*

But sausage is as well. Dittmers in Los altos is a artist with which the world was blessed. I drive 2 hours to resupply, local places are good but do not compare I almost always have a pack of hot dogs in my fridge and sausages there or in the freezer as well.
