OK let's do another scoring then and be sad about what Bioware has become. *g*
I'll try to recall how much I liked the game when I first played it and then provide "corrections" of how the games have aged for me when compared to other RPGs:
(My Bioware history starts with ME, btw.)
ME: 10/10 (Remains 10/10 for me, I was never as emotionally invested in a game again and I still love it with all my heart even though the combat hasn't aged well but the same could be said for ME2 or any other game.)
ME2: 9/10 (Remains 9/10, the juvenile rule of cool introduced will always be inferior to geeky ME, sorry.)
ME3: 9/10 (Remains 9/10, never hated the ending as much as some people. The lame execution of the last 5min and rushed prologue should probably rank the game lower but the emotion was all there and I still love the game. Also, ME3MP was and STILL is glorious.)
DAO: 9/10 (Remains 9/10 even though I always liked the ME trilogy a lot more, but the game was damn good regardless.)
DA2: 8/10 (9/10 today and my favorite DA game now after replaying it post-DAI. Best story, best companion dynamics, damn impressive for such a rushed game!)
DAI: 9/10 (8/10 after playing ANY other open world RPG, DAI was my first and I said I never want to go back to corridors. But now I realize how dead Bioware's open worlds are and I desperately want them to ditch it, lol. That said, DAI had the best companions by far. And I really enjoyed the game after a luke-warm 10 hours until Skyhold. It's a GOOD game!)

I know this is really petty but it’s funny that the forums have emptied in the months since Anthem’s release. So many posters who were defending BioWare and Anthem leading up to launch and in the months after have abandoned these forums. Even Sofa has been very quiet lately. Damning with faint praise indeed. The posters who defended BioWare zealously have all but disappeared.
It’s a shame we doubters resort to “told you so” when things go tits up, but when the player base is polarised into “the game will be amazing” versus “the game will fail” and any middle ground is ignored, the average person has to choose a side. And realistically given the pre launch info and early reviews and the drastic departure from BioWare’s strengths, this outcome should have been expected. Not guaranteed but at least a strong possibility. I genuinely hope this is not the fate for DA4 but I have no strong hope.

I mostly still hang around here to talk about different games. Once Cyberpunk 2077 is released, I'm sure their forums will become more active and I'll probably migrate over there more. Other than that I created a reddit account and hangout mostly in the rdr2 online subreddit. I do miss the old BW forums. There was just so much discussion. The fanbase has finally split up and majority of what is being discussed here is illusions on how well BW games are actually doing. I actually hope whoever owns this place, change things up a bit. Maybe become less BW focused.

That was another blunder from BW was closing their official forums. I don't see any other developers closing their forums and relying on Twitter and Reddit to communicate.

Bio Games I've played in order.
7.0/10 - Baldur's Gate 7.0/10 - Neverwinter Nights
10/10 - ME2 10/10 - DA:O 10/10 - DA2 8.5/10 - ME1 <--- dated after ME2
9.5/10 - ME3 <--- what a crapola ending. Shep breathed.
12/10 - ME3MP <--- just love playing this, smooth and fun.
07/10 - DA:I <--- castrated Mage, no Pause, poor KB, altered combat mechanics, non existing economy, crap Templar/Mage battles
08/10 - ME:A <--- poor cinematics and weak story elements, exploration weak.
I've noticed a degrading game design and implementation due to forced MP.... DA:I's combat mechanics with Mage castration for example (aside from mgt issues).
As to Anthem, remember that EA's reason for existence is making money. That and only that drives the fate of the game.

BG2 7.5 (Very good but mechanics still work in progress) Kotor 8.0 ME1 8.5 (fantastic story, gameplay still needed work) DAO 9 ME2 10 (Game i could replay & replay) DA2 8.5 (loved the story and concept but rushed release showed visually) ME3 7 (awful ending(earth section),dreams, autodialogue etc but some fantastic segments). DAI 6.5 MEA 6.5 (Just as flawed as DAI but just in different areas, writing being one unfortunately even if gameplay was beter)
Then you've got the awful anthem. Fingercrossed its the bottom of the barrel and curve will start back upwards in terms of my ratings.

Finally, someone on this forum with some fucking taste. You kidding me? ME2 is not the Holy Grail in gaming for everyone? 😁 ME1 launches, I think "meh, they make a shooter? It's alright I guess, 7/10 or so. Soundtrack is a saving grace.". Didn't even follow the development of ME2, got the game just because Bioware and to see the story development. Mind...blown. Every complaint I had for ME1 was fixed. Cinematic experience through the roof. Personal story. Great companions. Replaying it to death even today. In fact, just talking about it makes me want to play it again!

No pause in DAI? Since when?
let me explain.
In anticipation of DA:I, I replayed DA:O and DA2. I was expecting the same KB key assignments and that PAUSE key and tactical screen, not the DA:I abortion mechanic. The other item I forgot to mention is the Auto Attack feature of DA2. I could never play the sword char. until DA2. Now that was fun!!! Then DA:I forgot all about it and all I was able to do is swing at the air. The only two chars I am able to play in DA:I is the mage and archer.
Yeah... FB was at fault for many shortcomings.

That and they designed the gameplay around multiplayer. I hated sword classes too.

And the fact that I cannot, to this day, play a damn melee class in the game. I'm always batting .000003/1000 whenever I try and hit anything in melee combat. Mage or rogue archer? Sure. No problem.

My ratings for BW games, that I've played, are as follows ME1: 8.5/10 ME2: 10/10 my favorite game of all time ME3: 8/10 Origins: 9/10 DA2: 8/10 Inquisition: 7.5/10 Andromeda: 5/10
That's pretty close to how I would rate them too. I would probably switch DA2 and DAI's scores (but that is awfully nitpicky).
Good tastes 10k.
Also: KOTOR: 9/10 BG1: 7/10
BG2: 8/10 NWN: 6.5/10 (8/10 with expansions)
Jade Empire: 7/10 Anthem: 3/10 MDK2: 6/10

I like this game. My ratings:
BG2: 9/10 (might be nostalgia, I had a higher tolerance for these kinds of RPGs when I was younger, but I got at least 100 excellent hours out of it)
NWN: 8.5/10 (campaign was fun, expansions were great, I really enjoyed the focus on a smaller party and a handful of the good multiplayer campaigns)
Sonic Chronicles: 7/10 (short, simple rpg that was somewhat fun and had a surprisingly good story for a sonic game but obviously had a lot of problems. Most sonic games sucked during this era, though)
DAO: 9.5/10 (one of the best bioware stories told, still disappointed the plot threads that game left aren’t the focus of the main plot of the sequels)
ME1: 9/10 (excellent story, huge progress for bioware on gameplay. I still somewhat enjoy the main combat, but lots of rough edges holding this back - I’m looking at you, mako segments)
DA2: 8/10 (I bought this on sale for $5 way after it came out and viewed it more as a spin-off than a proper sequel, which helped a lot - obviously rushed but solid combat and decent story/characters)
ME2 10/10 (a masterpiece, every inch of this game is excellent)
ME3: 9.5/10 (endings are atrocious even after dlc, but the rest of the campaign was amazing, and the MP is still one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had)
DAI: 8.5/10 (core story missions were great, and problems with the side stuff are overblown imo, they were fine/bearable. MP was bad and left game-breaking glitches alone for far too long, but the SP dlc was excellent and did a lot to make subsequent playthroughs feel fresh)
MEA: 7 (great concept with horrendous execution all around. This is the first Bioware game where I audibly groaned at cringey dialogue. MP balance started inexcusably bad and is still pretty off to this day)
Anthem: 4/10 (Everyone knows about the endgame/content/loot/technical problems, but what continues to surprise me is people saying one of the worst campaigns I’ve ever experienced is passable, or that the core combat is good when it’s essentially a much less deep and far less balanced version of the mass effect games. Imo this game has no redeeming elements at all)

We just got a blog post that basically says ‘don’t expect anything anytime soon, and by the way we’re not doing what we previously said we were going to do either,’ on top of the only substantial piece of content added to the game in its entire lifetime being about to be removed, reverting the game to the pathetic state it was in in May. Even the most rabid of fanboys have nothing at this point. I think Bioware would be happy to let the game die with a whimper (rather than a roar people will actually remember) and move on.

And the hopeless optimist in me was convinced to the very end that they will keep the Cataclysm permanent and not do yet another monumental mistake by removing it. But then again, they probably thought they would have had the resources to release something else quickly after. Do these people work for EA for the first time? Wait...most of them probably do...
