So, just saw this video from scott manley about this game from paradox. And thought I'd share it with you all.
Now, I love games like this. So, if its on GOG, I think I'll be picking up a copy of my own. Anyone else hear anything about this game? If so, what do you think about it? Something your interested in?

I just got an email about this from GOG. It does look interesting. Haven't decided if I'm willing to pre-order or make a day one purchase. Got burned with the amount of money I spent on MEA since there's no DLC forthcoming. For that, I could have just waited and got it a lot cheaper.
That said, GOG does have a 30-day money back guarantee after date of purchase so it might be worth it.

mhm, I was actually looking for a city builder game today and glanced it on steam. It's up for release 15th I think. Devs are Haemimont - most known probably for Tropico, a not so serious city (state) sim franchise. Interesting, but there is "Frostpunk" (some sort of steampunk apocalypse city society sim) coming up in April and I guess I'll wait and see which is my kinda thing.

The scifi aesthetic is what has my attention. But my funds are running a bit low atm. That said, its def on my future buys list. And I'm watching a few youtubers play through it atm. Etalyx is my fav of the 3 LP channels I watch.
I will say, the 3 game types I'm not a big fan of. $40 for the base game. $50 for some in game music, and some alternate buildings. And $60 for everything plus a season pass. That is not something I like, it seems kinda cheesy to me.
*shrug* still, the game itself seems very solid. So it has my attention.

Saw preview gameplay on Twitch yesterday and a day ago. I don't see anything unique about it though but that's just me. I don't know what's endgame criteria since I couldn't watch long hours of it; seems boring to me.

I watched a bit more on Twitch. I'll say one thing though; the music is very interesting. Radio D.J (Earth channel) talked about Waikiki Beach...but there's no ocean on Mars and is it such a good thing to remind the Martians what they left behind? The music tracks began to play, something about boys and girls and campfires. The beat reminds of the swinging 60s. The songs came coming and they sound very good. I think I'd rather buy the music tracks than the game.

Yeah I kinda like the Scifi concept too. The devs are Haemimont who are responsible for Tropico 3-5. I have Tropico 5 and it's an enjoyable enough light game but the major downside to it is they do tend to slice and dice it into a lot of DLC. If I do buy this I'll probably wait for it to go on sale. I'd probably expect it to be a lighter game like Tropico rather than a game with greater depth like Cities:Skylines.

I think I'd rather buy the music tracks than the game. Yeah that's the same thing from Tropico 5. There they have a female DJ playing appropriately tropical music on the island radio station with the usual chatty banter making comments about her boyfriend, El Presidente, politics and so on. So it's Space Tropico then. Haemimont Games: I already said that I've played Tropico 5, I'd just like to say it's a good enjoyable lightweight game, but with this proviso, only at it's sale price with bundled or discounted DLC. It's just not value for money at full price. If Surviving Mars is just a space reskin of Tropico 5 (IDK this for sure, but if it is) then potential buyers should take note and buy it on sale. Tropico 5 has a very mobile game feel.
