Should Disney get into the video game business?

They were.. are? At least were in videogame business.

Disney sold its in house games studios 3 times already i cant imagine they would do anything different in the future, its cheaper for them to just contract someone else to make their games then like wiht infinity when they get bored or realise there games not doing so well (because its overpriced) they can just yank the funding plug and the games company takes all the abuse not them for selling an expansion pack a week before announcing there switching the servers off at the end of the month .... Disney walks away wiht a hughe pile of money and the games company is left with a pile of debt and unsellable product.....


but thats not the only bonus for contracting out to get the game made, theres also major bonuses of not having to pay wages year on year, not being liable for pensions or taxes or unexpected last minute glitch fixes (masses of overtime) becasue the games company takes the loss on all those things, so whilst its more expensive to contract out on the headline costs for making a specific game its actually cheaper (games company cant bill the hours that meeting times take up, they cant bill for marketing booth time off the project for the dev team, they cant bill for the holiday pay and on and on it goes) which makes it actually cheaper for them to contract out than own the production company themselves, the downside is they are limited in having their aims achieved, if it wasn't in the original brief then it will cost them an arm and a leg to insist it gets implemented after the alpha build stage nothing is allowed to get changed.....


so will Disney get into the games industry.... they never left it, they had games back in the 1980's and there still making money in the games industry today....
