I thought it was a good movie, was a little bit worried with most of the reviews seemingly giving the movie a high score as a form of political virtue signaling what with everyone giving the movie less than a perfect score being labeled as a racist bigot and the whole "oscars so white" controversy but I thought the movie was legitimately good, there was a bit of a political message in there but I don't think it came off too heavy handedly that it took away from the film and it wasn't necessarily a message I disagree with either. Still even when they get a movie with a majority black cast SJWs will still find something to whine about because there werent any LGBT characters in the film! www.gizmodo.com.au/2018/02/marvel-misses-another-easy-representation-opportunity-withblack-panther/

When will people learn that authors, writers, directives and creatives in general should not be forced to put in every minority group in creation into a project just...because...reasons? If they belong then they belong, if not, move on. Its an action movie for chrisake.

No, not in here, technically, but we can type about it! >8)
I seem to have an above-average ability to ignore people complaining about things that offend them. It may not be a "solution" but it does make enjoying things in life easier.

When all desired representations are represented, they will find more things to bitch about. Perhaps the execution of said representation, like we saw post DAI back in the day.

How do we know Martin Freeman's character isn't gay? Do they need to wear a big flashing sign saying "I'M GAY!" or something like Sulu in the latest Star Trek movie who's husband and child only had 5 seconds of movie time and weren't even given names and were only there to establish how progressive the movie writers were for making Sulu gay?

Solid meh. Not quite cookie-cutter Marvel, but of the same batch. I have nothing bad to say about Black Panther, I just don't have much to say about it at all.

Personally I thought it was among one of the better movies in the marvel cinematic universe, or is that the problem that it is a part of the Marvel cinematic universe? It's not a problem. I just don't have much to comment beyond, "it's a Marvel movie". It's not as quippy/snarky as some Marvel movies, and it's not an origin story, hence why I said it wasn't "cookie-cutter". But other than that... yeah.

Yeah I get you, I mean I don't think anyone is expecting anything incredibly deep or thought provoking from a Marvel movie however I do enjoy the movies as fun light hearted popcorn flicks that you just tune out and enjoy for what they are, however I can see why others may not be as into them or even sick of them entirely.

Good movie. Story wasn't exactly original, and I didn't care for the shaky-cam scenes. But the acting was first rate. If you want to talk politics in the movie: I like how they handled the question of balancing a nation using their wealth and power to help others while at the same time keeping their own people safe. There were no easy answers to that question. And Killmonger struck me as very...Antifa-like. More interested in violent revolution and willing to burn everything down than come up with a productive answer to problems.

I got my own line and title in the credits, finally not lumped in with the rest of the workers. That makes it the best credit I have received to date, and ought to be helpful with my future prospects.
Still haven't seen the movie. I couldn't go to our crew screening, as I was working on a History Channel production.

I'm aware they're just "fun movies", and I'm not being hipter-highbrowish about it. If anything, I'm just ready for endgame (Thanos). It's time. Good movie. Story wasn't exactly original, and I didn't care for the shaky-cam scenes. But the acting was first rate. If you want to talk politics in the movie: I like how they handled the question of balancing a nation using their wealth and power to help others while at the same time keeping their own people safe. More interested in violent revolution and willing to burn everything down than come up with a productive answer to problems. On the other hand, I can go off other people as a springboard. Not a fan of them going public, anymore than I was of SHIELD doing so back in Winter Soldier (though perhaps for slightly different reasons). There's a reason Wakanda's not a shithole, and it ain't just the magic space rock. I agree with the one dude who said "I'll go out and help anyone you want me to, but I won't risk Wakanda for it". Then he got buttmad about Andy Serkis and became a chump.
On the other hand, with Asgardians and Thanos on the way, the consequences of Wakanda going public are somewhat eclipsed so... *shrug*. Sigh. When will people learn that authors, writers, directives and creatives in general should not be forced to put in every minority group in creation into a project just...because...reasons? Because that's what he was reacting to.

I was slightly disappointed by the predictable 3rd act, and the severe lack of Soul Gems, but overall it was pretty cool. Glad they stayed fairly true to the books

Let's face it, magic space rocks fix everything Actually, how they got all this super-advanced tech simply by having access to space rocks is puzzling. But eh, comic book stories. I just imagine that it's not a meteor they're mining, but an ancient space ship they're disassembling and reverse-engineering. At any rate, like I said, there were no easy answers. And Wakanda clearly has been intervening for some time, just surreptitiously (as shown by Nakia's mission at the beginning. T'Challa has basically done Tony Stark's "I am Iron Man" for his nation. I guess he figured the masquerade was going to be dropped at some point anyway, better to control when and how. Also, I suspect the Soul Stone is somewhere in that giant vibranium meteor, given the effects the heart-shaped herb have in letting people communicate with their ancestors [/quote]

Strongest metal on earth- obviously best weapons and shields. That makes sense. But to the rest? Maybe it's also a superconductor and you can extrapolate some technobabble about how its properties enabled them to make anti-grav and cloak fields and whatnot (though not how a primitive culture was able to make use of it right away, even as weapons, and overcome the cultural limitations and setbacks of moving from a superstitious ass-backwards nation into a modern society based on science). But, then it also cures wounds and gives you superpowers? Yeah, that's where I draw the line. Although interesting theory with the Soul Stone. If true, that would fix pretty much all the issues.
