Never posted a build before, so this is a little "Exciting!" I started to use this build, cause I don't like losing all my stamina to the upgraded Elemental Mines and because I used to play my SP Tempest like this for some time. Skills in skill bar: Flank Attack, Flask of Frost, Shadow Strike, Twin Fangs Skill Trees:Alchemy:Active Skills:- Elemental Mines - not upgraded/starting skill
- Flask of Frost - upgraded
Passive Skills:- Sneak Attack
- Dance of Death
- Alchemy Mastery
Cunning:Active Skills:- Stealth - not upgraded/starting skill
- Flank Attack - upgraded
- Twin Fangs - upgraded
- Shadow Strike - upgraded
Passive Skills:
- Ambush
- Unforgivable Chain
- Disable
- Evasion
- Knife in the Shadows
- And Take Them Down
- Easy to Miss
First, when leveling up, you want to get Flask of Frost and either Twin Fangs, or Shadow Strike. Because you start with Stealth, Flank Attack can wait a little, if you don't have enough skill points to spend. Upgrade the active skills at the same time you get them.
Next are the passives, you get Sneak Attack, Ambush, Unvorgivable Chain and Knife in the Shadows on the way down to the active skills, so the next two most important passives are Evasion and Alchemy Mastery, which also gives you Dance of Death. Followed by And Take Them Down and Easy to Miss. The point of this build is to Freeze and then Shatter as many enemies as possible, so use Flask of Frost close to a bulk of enemies to freeze all of them and then use Twin Fangs/Shadow Strike to shatter them. As finishing move use Flank Attack to wait for the cooldown of Flask of Frost in in the safety of Stealth. Great in combination played with a Katari/Avvar using Charging Bull/Hakkon's Charge, or an Arcane Warrior/Elementalist using Stone Fist on the enemies you just froze. This build is Nightmare tested.

It is a very nice and fun build I used to use, too. Well until I nearly stopped playing rogues But I often swapped out Flank Attack, it does too low damage and it misses too often in my opinion. I like this one atm when playing Luka: Luka mixed build1. Why no Flask of Fire? (too many explosions I do not like that) All the time I see players using it throwing out tons of mines, a bit later most of them detonate unused or they run ahead in stealth and bomb everything with it, well they should play solo then, I do not like that either ^^ ) 2. Why only Twin Fangs? The cool down of 8 seconds is enough to perform two detonates after activating Flask of Frost, i am satisfied with that With the passive "Dance of Death" and Hakkon's Mercy (if you have it) you never have stamina problems

Great in combination played with a Katari/Avvar using Charging Bull/Hakkon's Charge Katari's whirlwind and Avvar's crushing leap are great combos with Luka's frost flask too as they can shatter them all when she freezes closely clustered mobs. 1. Why no Flask of Fire? (too many explosions I do not like that) All the time I see players using it throwing out tons of mines, a bit later most of them detonate unused or they run ahead in stealth and bomb everything with it, well they should play solo then, I do not like that either ^^ ) I guess it really depends on how the team plays as a whole. Back in the days when we didn't have lots of promotions yet, we would challenge NM as a team of Lego, keeper, alchemist and another dps. We grouped up at a choke point where Luka had planted her mines ahead of time, Lego went out to draw the attention of enemies then keeper dragged and trapped them to where the mines were using static cage. Glorious explosions ensued. In the mean time everyone focused fire on the lightning cage to finish off whoever was still alive, if any...An observant Alchemist would scatter the mines on the spots where her teammates most likely to stand and fight, while her fellow agents can also intentionally lure enemies to such spots. The better the entire team coordinates, the less Luka's mines get wasted. Sadly the situation you mentioned happens a lot especially in pugs, where players tend to run off on their own...They either don't know, or don't care to utilize her mines efficiently. That's why I only use fire flask + mines in private games now, mostly when challenging HB with friends.

I like how you described your team-play If you play private games and you go ahead to bomb everything because the team want to clear fast or if you teamplay it can be really great. With Gillis or my build I enjoy Luka. The shattering or the mix of shatter and mines I often see low promoted players using Flask of Fire + Mines. They throw there mines and then they die because even with all the mines they simply do too less damage and can't take damage themselves or they survive not doing much damage and then hiding in stealth doing nothing until cool down from flask and mines are ready. I think they could do much better with the shatter combos like in Gillis build being save in stealth again and not standing around doing nothing

Tried the "Shattering" build on a NM solo last night and it's indeed a lot of fun. I was using Stealth(with "I was never here" passive) + frost flask + Twin Fangs + Shadow Strike. Also had cooldown amulet and enhanced twin fangs ring. Within the duration of one frost flask I can do twin fangs twice plus one shadow strike to shatter. Died out of impatience on wave 3 but still got 108 team combos in total. Terrell joined with a whirlwinding Katari later and more shatters followed.

Yesterday I tried Flask of Fire+Mines as Luka. Even though I tried to take accurate aim, large numbers of mines were sadly wasted. Even some of my mines flew away into the sky. :0 Today I'll try Gilli's Luka build.

Even some of my mines flew away into the sky. About this issue see caldyrvan's post here. Mr. ArcherKipling also had some insight about using mines in the same thread It seems that when your teammates have certain gears equipped, like The Knight Second shield, Heart of Pride staff, your mines are very likely to fly away around them...Hakkon sword and greatsword also seem to do that, but needs confirmation as I'm not absolutely certain about these two.

Thank you so much! One of my teammates was using Heart of Pride staff with his Sasrebas yesterday, so that was the reason. :0

As far as I know it is not related to gear. For me it always happens when being close to a Templar, Legionnaire, Saarebas when throwing the mines.

It seems AoE-related, so some gear may cause it. The Avvar is another problem class when it comes to mines. Best advice is to avoid throwing them near teammates in general. Same goes for Healing Mist. I've seen more than one of those fly away. Nice when it happens to the firebombs enemy Qunari throw, though.

Lego seemed fine in my case. One of teammates was Legionnaire and I just stuck to him like velcro during matches. So he draw enemies, I just standing behind him and kept throwing mines. Not sure what gears did he use though.

So he draw enemies, I just standing behind him and kept throwing mines. Not sure what gears did he use though. I don't recall seeing the "moon mines" bug as often when I first started playing in routine/threatening with low level gears. The first time I saw it was with one leaderboarder who was then helping me to finish some NM dragon runs. He played a lego and me Luka. When I started moon mining all around him he said something like it was caused by lego using hakkon 1-hander. Later on as I play regularly in perilous/NM where many players use high level weapon(hakkon, level 26/27 shields, heart of pride etc.), moon mining seems to happen more frequently than in lower difficulties on some certain agents like lego, templar and saarebas. I could be wrong cuz it's hard to remember exactly what it was like in the past when I haven't been spoiled by all these good gears. It may be AOE related as Minuos mentioned so agents with certain abilities would always cause it no matter the gears. I suppose more controlled tests are needed in order to be sure. If someone is willing to help me by playing a lego with different combination of gears, I'll be happy to throw some mines in their face. Btw as for enemy shield guys, at least I didn't see the bug happen with Qunari defenders in one of my solo. A few mines might bounce back from their shields or stick in mid-air but the majority of them still worked fine.
