So on the other thread, the question came up regarding how much elemental resistance help when magic defense is maxed. So I tested it with my AW in NM storm dragon FC map. AW (0% resist) with no lightning resist equipment: AW (62% resist) with 32% on armor and 30% belt: AW (122% resist) with 32% armor, 30% belt, 60% potion Now that the test is over, I need to die... but as I was dying the spiders decided to taunt me. So I thought I just kill these and die... one more... one more....turns out it is really really hard to to die with demon faction in NM FC storm dragon map.

Thanks for following this up. Those are the kind of numbers I expected, so it's good to see the 80% cap in practice. This means it's actually working as intended. So the maximum effective damage reduction from defense and resistance combined is 96%. And, working in reverse, a new player could easily take 300 damage per tick in that first image. No wonder people go down so quickly when they jump straight into NM. I considered posting these in the other thread, just as an idea of how the percentages interact: 20% defense + 32% resistance = 45.6% overall reduction (20 + 80% of 32). 40% defense + 32% resistance = 59.2% overall reduction (40 + 60% of 32). 60% defense + 32% resistance = 72.8% overall reduction (60 + 40% of 32). 80% defense + 32% resistance = 86.4% overall reduction (80 + 20% of 32). Still -32% of the damage you'd take, in any case.

I use it every time in map 5 with the ones I carry. Since they are free anyway. But since all my guys got lightning resist item on, I don't carry lightning pot any more. I wish they will let the PC master race using 90-= for pots too. I was looking at the screenshot from console players, do you guys have to cycle thru the potions to use it? No direct button tie to each potion? BTW, because I free up one potion slot, I started carrying the confusion grenade potion on some of my agents. It is loads of fun. One time I sent a pride demon to go after a despair demon LOL, but he walked so slow he only get to hit it like one time before the effect worn off.

For the most part I have the same potions for reach character: rock armour healing healing mist one potion for stancing on the flag at the end of the match anitvan fire, bees, glue potion I think I use the heroism potion for my templar.

It is long enough. Right timing and team mates using them after yours expires or using different one. But I always wished there would be belts for it like this: Belt for +2 Potion, one for +2 Tonics, one for +2 Granedes, one with +1 for all three ^^ This would not have been too good and a nice belt for those not using pact belts

I carry the same potions all the time too (since I am only playing mages) Rock Tonic Lyrium Mighty Offence Healing potion Pop the first 3 then watch the Qunari boss burn. It's quite dramatic as he jumps in, then gets wailed on, then falls back pretty soon afterwards.
