Actually see it properly first. Given your opinion of Disney that seems unlikely. He's a lot better then their other villains by comparison. Killmonger and Thanos are their best villains. That's fair. Sö its because öf the comparisön tö öther Marvel villians? Because I've heard peöple say he is an all time great in cinema histöry. maybe not THE best but he might be up there on my personal list.

The only difference between Thanos and I dunno Red Skull from Cap 1 is that Thanos actually succeeds. For me, it's Killmonger as the best MCU villain. He's way more complex then Thanos.

Ah. Now I remember him. I'm currently going on a MCU binge in prep for Black Panther. I really can't remember what he did to be honest.

Re-watching The Avengers, I love that the first shot of Thanos is his hand. It has way more meaning now then just doing it because it looks intimidating. I'm guessing it's the one that he uses the gauntlet with?

Just saw Black Panther. It was good, but I’m not sure how they’ll continue it in any sequels. Not because of what happens in Infinity War, but because 2 of T’Challa’s biggest villains are now dead in the same movie, and his third biggest nemesis, M’baku, is more of an ally than an enemy now. I admit I’m not as familiar with Panther as other figures in Marvel, so I’m sure he has other people to fight besides Klaue, Killmonger, and Man-Ape, but I dunno where to continue with T’Challa.
And, this movie brings to mind one of the nitpicks I’ve had with the MCU pretty much since day one: the seemingly random and arbitrary changes from the source material. The ones that don’t really affect how the plot plays out, but just make me question what the point of the change was. In this particular case: Shuri. Shuri in the movie is a techno-geek who could put Tony Stark to shame with her inventions. In the main comic continuity, that’s... not her schtick. Of the royal siblings in the books, T’Challa is the tech-wizard. Shuri is more of a folk historian and mystic, more inclined to the use of magic when she takes on the role of Panther. Like, what was the point of this change? It’s not as if the supernatural element of Shuri’s comic counterpart would be out of place, since the movie already plasters Bast everywhere and has several scenes in the Ancestral Plane. If anything, the exploration of the mystical roots of the Panther and the ties to Bast would have been fascinating to explore. Hopefully, if there is a sequel, Shuri becomes closer to her comic counterpart and this element of the setting is elaborated on. I also wasn’t a HUGE fan of how quippy T’Challa is in the movie, but the MCU has done that to every other hero who is supposed to be more serious anyway, so whatever, but I would still like for... any of the main characters to take shit seriously and not just crack jokes all day long. T’Challa in the books can be a right ruthless son of a bitch when he has to (which is... actually pretty often).
Other than that, it was pretty solid. The CGI for the war rhinos was fucking terrible though.

The CGI for the war rhinos was fucking terrible though. It does seem like magic in the MCU is the province of Strange and Thor with a side of Scarlet Witch and I think we know that Kevin Feige said something to the effect that 'magic is not in the MCU'...so we know he is a bit weird on the subject and probably only included people like Strange after...well the MCU was already going (even Thor had a sci fi explanation for a lot of his powers), so I could see it easily explained that they decided to go with a more technical background for Shuri.

For me, it's Killmonger as the best MCU villain. He's way more complex then Thanos. Thanos is far, FAR more engaging in the actual comics. Granted, even before Infinity Gauntlet (the event book that the movie is adapting), he’d already had years of development, as compared to his brief cameos in the movies before Infinity War. Even still, they only briefly touched on a lot of Thanos’ history.
