Therefor it is impossible for Bioware to solve the Milky Way problem that they themselves created. Nope. If they pick Destroy/Cure Genophage/Mordin lives that would keep most people happy. I made different choices on some playthroughs but I understand that to get another MW game sacrifices have to be made. Some will whine but as long as they deliver a good game nobody will care. Great, but what if that is what their metrics say isn't the most popular choices people made?

Not if your plan is to put the trilogy to rest. But how they're going to make a sequel out of the disaster of ME3 ending? Yeah, that's kind of the point. They don't make a sequel. It's a trilogy. That means three. End of story. My experience tells me that prequels and sequels to set storylines often suck (see SW prequels and sequels for more).

I read somewhere, no idea where, that Destroy was chosen on 80%+ of playthroughs. Unless they can come up with a compelling narrative reason to deviate from this, Destroy seems obvious. As for the Genophage, especially if any subsequent game is set soon after the trilogy, any choice would be acceptable as the effects or lack thereof would not be apparent and could be dealt with in dialogue if necessary.

Which is why ME3's ending is probably the dumbest way to end a trilogy I've ever seen. Not if your plan is to put the trilogy to rest. Thing is, you can put the trilogy to rest in a more satisfying way. Scorching the setting doesn’t necessarily prove to be the best way to go about it. Not that I want some idyllic super happy Funtime ending, but something that doesn’t feel like a hard left turn into WTF-is-this.

It's more than likely in the very early "brain storming" phase. With Anthem in 2019 and DA4 more than likely in 2020, there is no chance we see a hint of a new ME until 2021 at the earliest....and that's just teaser stuff. Game is at least 5 -6 years off.
And all if this depends on if EA just doesn't kill Bioware off. Which is a possibility of Anthem bombs.

I was satisfied as well. The four options (counting "Refuse") weren't my ideal but they worked enough that I still do a trilogy playthrough once or twice a year.

As for the Genophage, especially if any subsequent game is set soon after the trilogy, any choice would be acceptable as the effects or lack thereof would not be apparent and could be dealt with in dialogue if necessary. The only time I have personally seen the 80% used is people making claims that is how many people prefer according to an unofficial poll somewhere like on Reddit. Anyway I just think BioWare has such a large target on them for one reason or another they are going to be cautious of alienating or frustrating portions of their player base. I think making anything canon based on how people have acted in the past about choices is one they would likely avoid, for minor things gets people upset I just cannot see how canonizing endings to Mass Effect 3 wouldn't have the same echo chamber reaction like the facial animations until people find something else they claim is a universal truth. After the online reception to Andromeda I can see BioWare doing everything they can to make a game that is designed from the very start to ruffle as few feathers as possible and making things canon could hurt the initial sales to a degree until reports about the full game are released.
