And in the middle of the fucking night over here. Who needs sleep, right? Well with my teeny tiny iddy biddy little hope that Dishonored might be mentioned I'm wondering if I should stay up...you know, just so I can be disappointed live with the rest of the world and not in the morning.

Comparing the internet's reaction to Anthem vs Cyberpunk..... Anthem: Mixed from excited to dismissive. (I think BioWare will pull it out of the bag) Cyberpunk: Excitement followed by meh. Didn't even have a year listed. 2020? (of course it'll be good, but such expectation)

Damn Bethesda conference is still more than 3 hours away. And in the middle of the fucking night over here. Hmm, not far from midnight for me, so 2.30am? Nope. Wait until tomorrow.

The comments across many YouTube channels appear to be overly positive compared to the lukewarm reception of Anthem. I doubt it will happen, but Bioware better hope CP2077 doesnt release anywhere near Feb 2019.

Yeah, the music was definitely on-point for this one.
RPG by CDPR... I'm sure it'll be more than okay. The thing is I didn't like Witcher 3 (I mean, I could see it was a good game for what it was, just didn't appeal to me, kinda fed up with male protags with limited emotion range). I thought if there's a character creator it may be more up my street, but Witcher 3 was so gloomy and while I like dark stuff in my games, I also want to love the world I'm in as well. kinda worried I won't get that with Cyberpunk 2077 so would like to see more of it. More than fair (and I'm somewhat ambivalent on Geralt myself). I should point out there will be a CC in CP2077, so I think that will help.

Yeah, I'm hopeful there's some not-gloomy things about the world too and will be interested in how they handle cc. I don't think they've ever made a game with a cc in it so it'll be interesting to see how they handle it anyways

There's also plenty of comments calling the Cyberpunk trailer basically meh. (I've seen generic mentioned quite a few times). Also people kinda wanting the release date or some window. I don't really see universal praise.

Can you imagine the reaction if Cyberpunk sucked and Anthem was incredible? Not gonna lie, I'd be watching with a bucket of popcorn.

That said Cyberpunk seemed less everything is awful all the time and let me tell you about my warts and more society is ridiculous so let’s have fun.

Just comparing the two in terms of overall excitement. While I am a bit taken back that there wasnt any gameplay shown or release window, it is clearly shown that gamers are salivating at the idea of CP2077. Anthem just doesnt have the same level of hype surrounding it.

I remember all the moaning and complaining about The Witcher III before launch: downgrades, the grass isn't HD enough... etc
The expectations for Cyberpunk are so high, I don't envy CDPR's task.

Sounds like some people might be deliberately vulnerable to salivating. Just a bit.

I wonder...if you swapped the games, BioWare announcing Cyberpunk and CDP announcing Anthem, what would the reaction be? How much of the reaction to each game is a reflection of gamer's attitudes to both companies, and to MEA and TW3? I feel like BioWare is doomed before they even show up.

I feel like that could be the problem. People have had so long to wonder about this game with not much info besides rumours, so the game has sort of turned into this magical unicorn pixie dust thing where it's everything for everyone. It'll be hard to hit what everyone wants and gamers can turn on you fast. I wouldn't wish that scorn on my worst enemy.

It was hard to really tell what type of game it was from that. Felt kinda like a future set GTA. Yeah, I really wish I knew what type of game Cyberpunk is - it's hard to get excited for it when I have no idea if it's going to be my cup of tea. Nor does there seem to be much indication when it's coming out either, unless I missed something? Trailer introduced the world, and holy shit is it a world I want to know more about. CD Projekt packed a lot of information and themes into their two trailers so far. For gameplay we'd need a gameplay vid, which this isn't, but people know what CD Projekt is about.
