I was wondering if anyone here has DA:O installed on their Windows 10 PC? If so how does it run? I had it on my old WIN7 PC but that got wiped so I lost all of my data and just decided to upgrade to a new PC altogether. I have yet to install DA:O on this machine or reinstall on my old WIN7 as DA:O is primarily mouse & keyboard, and I would need it to be on my primary desktop. Thanks in advance for any help.

Works fine for me. At first there was a graphical glitch that would cause a CTD. But I downloaded the 4GB patch from nexus and it works perfect.

I don't have any problem with running DA:O in Win 10 although Idk how about you guys buy I noticed that game happened to have strangely a lot of bugs or glitches comparing to e.g Win 7 but maybe it's just an coincident.

Works okay for me except this may be a GOG version related issue but Rock Armor and Shimmering Shield have no visual effect and Shimmering Shield has no sound... Other than that however, works great.

I had some lagging on higher settings, but I found this steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=233222451 when I ran into problems such as crashing and such it works really well and I can now run it on the highest settings ^^ it also works for DA2 if anyone is interested I'm going to try it out on some more 'older' games that are reported to not work well on Windows 10 see how that goes

Works fine, but I've had to limit the amount of mods to make it run well. I used to have the big one, what's it called....Dragon Age Redesigned? I uninstalled that as it was just too much, but I still have loads of smaller ones running.
Just load them one at a time.

I feel like whenever I try to remove any, there's always some residue of them left over in my game

Good question. I was 'lucky' in that my laptop blue screened taking my modded DAO with it. Therefore I had to reinstall, that would be the only clean start to my knowledge. Someone else may know more.

Most, but not all, DAO mods can be uninstalled mid-playthrough. (Some popular mods that 'bake' information into save games and thus necessitate starting a new game if removed are Improved Atmosphere and Combat Tweaks, and any mod that alters the equipment of NPCs, if the area where the modded NPC appears has been entered.) The most reliable way to completely remove DAzip packaged mods is with DAO-Modmanager, followed by a force-load through the game's complaint that a mod is missing, a clean save to a new slot to remove detritus from AddIns.xml, and a re-load from the clean save. To manually remove a DAzip mod, delete the mod's folder(s) from \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\AddIns. Then search for and delete the corresponding ERF from \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\data, if one is found. Force-load and save, as described above. .override packages are always installed and and should be uninstalled via DAO-Modmanager. Anything else in the Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override can just be manually deleted. And finally, some best-practices advice based on my years of playing DAO with a stupidly ridiculous number of mods.

the only thing you may see if that after a lot of hours, you may start see some "glitches" weird things and a bit of stutter and such, that's because after a long play sesion, you will need to close the game and open it again, it's just an engine issue.
Aside of that, the game works very well.

I played it just recently. I installed it from discs, not Origin. I did have a memory issue and some crashes when I started playing. I used a LAA utility (large address aware) to make the exe "see" all of the system memory and there were no problems after that. www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/

At first it ran like a charm, then I got a CTD after a few hours. No blue screen or any error messages whatsoever, just back to my desktop. These crashes started happening progressively faster until the point of becoming basically unplayable. Tried the compatability mode for every windows down to windows XP, but to no avail., I've now basically stopped trying

LAA should be considered nearly mandatory for this game, even without mods. Even so, can start to chug if you have been playing a long time and have transitioned through many areas.
The game has a lot of odd ball issues, but I haven't had any related directly to Win 10, and I don't run it in compatibility mode. I have played around with affinity on a 2500k and a 3770k and didn't notice much difference in anything.
The biggest issues I have are the crashes related to certain animations at > Low detail (paralysis explosion), which don't really have a solution, and framerate drops due to mods. The biggest offender for fps of what I run is from the Dragon Age Rules Fixpack, specifically "Fix - Weakens Nearby Darkspawn" which can tank the framerate in some areas if you have a weapon with that enchantment and there are a lot of darkspawn running in and out of range. My other mods (rest of fixes from DA Rules and dain's) are worth small amount of fps, and textures probably are too, but largely those aren't all that noticeable if running VSync.
I don't run Improved Atmosphere, that mod has a lot of incompatibilities, I do run ZDF for some story/dialogue fixes.
I think some people also have issues with Framebuffer Effects depending on specific gpu and drivers. There is also an old issue where if AA is set to practically anything other than 2x in game, it causes bad performance and potential instability on a lot of systems.
The obvious way to kill all mods is to reinstall. I might consider renaming your override and game directories as opposed to deleting or overwriting them. Alternatively, rename the override directory and disable all of the dazip installed mods in the settings menu. You can re-enable one by one and see what the effect is.

Well that worked for a while, but now it's back to crashing. What's that LAA you speak of capn233?
