And now for some nostalgia!
While the poll only lists the base classes from the first game, feel free to mention any "prestige classes" you think warrant mention. As for NWN2, mentioning any new classes is "allowed" even though it was Obsidian who made that instead of BioWare; just make sure to specify which game you're referring to. You can vote for up to three (3), because that's how many classes your character can have in the first game. (I know you can pick four in NWN2)

Ironically enough, my favorite class is actually the Favored Soul from NWN2 (more on that later)
Cleric was my first introduction to D&D stuff at all, because what I was seeing was everyone being Fighter/Rogues or Sorcerer/Rogues or Rouge/Rogues or just about anything involving red-n-black OC's with names like "Ebon Flex" (sounds like a protein powder) or "Jade Stellabelle" (sounds like a pop singer)
To be fair, I ain't knockin' that, I know that D&D is supposed to be fun, and these were fun to these people, but there were no healers. So, in the interest of not-dying, I opted for the class who is really good at getting the people alive to not die, but also decent at getting the creatures that are already dead to stay dead.
In NWN1, I chose cleric again, because, 1) I was familiar with it, and, 2) it has a good balance of melee and divine spellcasting, fitting in with my love of "hybrid" classes with dedicated support roles.
When I got NWN2, the Favored Soul class caught my eye, and I did a bit of research and found that it was basically "A sorcerer-style cleric", meaning that I wouldn't have the whole divine spell list; instead I would pick a few divine spells every time I increased in spellcasting, but I would gain special feats for free at the appropriate levels, including the use of whatever weapon my diety specialized in.
I love shields, but you know what goes great with shields? Longswords. Also maces, but definitely longswords. One devotion to Tyr later, and I was cleric-casting and sword-n-shielding and daydawn-breaking...
On a more pragmatic level, I found that I was only using a few of the Cleric's spells at any given time, so "losing" all the spells that I never used anyway in exchange for better reflex saves, free unique feats that match my playstyle, and the ability to cast MORE of the spells I DO use... It's a solid win for me.
But at the end of the day, Cleric was my first class in any D&D situation, so it will always have a special place, it was my first natural 20. It's a beautiful thing.

I've always been partial to paladins. In part because I enjoy playing Lawful Good, and also I like the whole "armored warrior with a bit of magic" feel.
Plus get him a Holy Avenger and he becomes an unstoppable beast!

My first class was rogue, but personally I was never fond of it, so I bounced around until I landed on Cleric and loved it; I especially enjoyed making undead actually dead with spells designed to heal.

I've never been drawn to "support" roles such as the healer or buffer. I also don't like summoning others to come hog my glory. I voted for Wizard, but that could have just as easily been monk, rogue or fighter. Doesn't matter if by spell or by steel, as long as I'm the one dishing the damage.

I'm still playing the Neverwinter Nights series for the first time so I don't know that I have enough of an opinion yet to vote. I do really like bards and clerics in Baldur's Gate, with my favorite charname being a bard. So I'm going with a cleric for my first run of NWN and am considering a warlock for my first run of NWN 2.

Rogues, because they are the most versatile and suite every kind of gameplay, especially with modules that include different kinds of approach and ways to solve every quest. I like to master the social skills (diplomacy, bluff and intimidation), to be able to exit from a dungeon without having to rely on anyone and to have the option to open every chest and to steal from people if for some reason I am running short of money. And all of this while still being good at combat.

Bard, since it meets the base requirement for RDD prestige class, which is my real favorite. Cleric, caster but not squishy like a mage. I love pummeling bad guys with my mace. Rogue, because of all the extra skill points you get at level up. I also like Ranger for when I want to play a ranged character. Plus, pets!

Bard, mostly because I tend to use diplomacy skills...a lot, oh and Lore...I'm a sucker for good game lore I also just like having a lot of dialogue options to avoid fights if I can plus I like music, so...there's that ^^ my 'canon' character in Neverwinter Nights 2 is a Bard

My favorite classes in NWN are Paladin and Sorceror. my Paladin steamrolled through the original campaign. My Sorceror steamrolled through SOU and HOTU. I haven't beaten NWN2 yet. But I am playing as a Favored Soul and so far I am enjoying it.

Druid or ranger 99% of the time. The 1% time I try something else and end up feeling "Nah, this sucks. Back to being ranger or druid." I am a tree hugger, I know.
