Now, if someone would only fix the bugged out shoulder piece that sticks out sideways, everything would be grand. That is usually the one I'd prefer to use but the fact it sticks straight out on one side (only on females, ofc ) makes it unwearable for me. Someone did. www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/2105

Really? Is it even possible to never have more than 50 gold without actively trying to stay under that number? You can get a few hundred selling one piece of purple quality loot, can't you? Probably, but why would you want to? That's true in DAO/DA2 at least. That's... pretty much the exact opposite of my experience. In my experience the different money systems mean Quizzy has a few hundred gold pieces at a level where the Warden would have had to scrimp a lot to have one. And I can't remember ever selling one item for a price with more than two digits in Origins, whereas I'm pretty sure most of the really good purple items go for a price with at least three digits, partially because gold is worth so much less in Inquisition than in Origins (and presumably 2.)Even when they're dangerous monsters? Even when the one in Crestwood is known to have killed someone and implied to be killing more people on the road? I get not wanting to drive a species extinct, but... dragons were believed to be extinct (and possibly were extinct) at one point. And given the immense danger they pose, maybe there's a reason they had their numbers thinned (or removed) like that.

Because I'm not comfortable with hunting an endangered species unless absolutely necessary. Even when they're dangerous monsters? Even when the one in Crestwood is known to have killed someone and implied to be killing more people on the road? I get not wanting to drive a species extinct, but... dragons were believed to be extinct (and possibly were extinct) at one point. And given the immense danger they pose, maybe there's a reason they had their numbers thinned (or removed) like that.
I looove the dragon fights but part of me doesn't like killing the dragons either, because they're so beautiful and majestic. Yeah, some are a danger, like the one in Crestwood and Hakkon (obviously) but sometimes I just watch them and then go on my merry way. I really like the areas where you can hear the wingbeats in the distance, like Exalted Plains or Emerald Graves. I've also never killed the chained dragon in Trespasser, no matter how many times she tries to prevent me from helping her!
Would be nice if there are dragons next game, if we could have the option of trying to steal from their treasure horde instead of having to kill them to get the good loot. The sleeping dragons in DAI would have been a perfect opportunity for an attempt. That might also be a good place for RNG so long as everything you could get was of the same rank/value.

As far as I'm aware, there's unlimited experience in Inquisition (unlike Origins or DA2) as enemies respawn.
Quests are the easiest way to get experience though.
As for making money - one word: Descent. You make so much money in that DLC.

But isn't this a non-issue in successive plays once you've used the Golden Nug? Or do you not like using it for whatever reason? I don't see the point of the Nug. If anything, it takes a few bad things about the game -- lack of difficulty, a broken economy, relatively little interesting loot -- and makes them worse. Yeah I don't tend to use the nug anymore as I felt it made life to easy for me in terms of why go farm for stuff when I already have it. I think it could be helpful to those that just want to do speed runs. But I'm more a person who prefers to play it like if I want to use a particular item I should try to earn it first either by farming to get the materials to make it or by looting if that's how it's got. So therefore I don't use the nug if I want something in particular I'll go out and find it.

The level cap is 27 and, with no trials on, you'll most likely reach it by end of base game + 1 DLC. You don't get any XP from critters 3 or more levels below you. This is why I play with Even Ground and Take It Slow both turned on. It takes longer to level up so I don't reach the cap until I'm nearly done with Trespasser, and I get XP with every kill since all enemies will be my level or higher.

One way to get a lot of coin is to go to Emprise du Lion. At the beginning, there is the frozen lake on the right with a small island in the middle. Run around the island killing Snoufleur for their skin. After a bit of time, you will have a lot that can be sold for cash.

Fair point. Still, though, that doesn't change the fact that the dragon is dangerously close to Redcliffe.

Idk about you guys, but I'm always broke lol I just can't have my Inquisitor running around wearing just what I looted because, there's no way the head of the inquisition would be out there looking like they rolled through a dumpster and whatever stuck to them is their armor. My armor has to match the other pieces and needs to look templar-ish if I'm playing a templar or rogue mage-ish if I'm a mage. This means buying a ton of schematics and low level items (at the start)

I beg to differ on that last point. On some Inquis the armor looks fine. But on my warrior Trevelyan, it made him look fat. And standard Inquisition armor might just be the ugliest thing ever.

In the base game? Maybe, maybe not, but definitely with DLCs added in. I wouldn't try JoH until level 20 but you can tackle Descent around 16-17 or so.

I beg to differ on that last point. On some Inquis the armor looks fine. But on my warrior Trevelyan, it made him look fat. The standard question troubling all heroes: Do these shoulder pads make me look fat? (meh The second one is pretty bad. I do like the 1st one however! And 3rd is decent!) Is it possible to reach 20+ levels without killing dragons? I feel like the Hinterlands quests alone can make you level to 20 if you do all of them. idk My Inky always seems to push up higher level than required before I'm done with any of the areas, but I do play normal. I just can't have my Inquisitor running around wearing just what I looted because, there's no way the head of the inquisition would be out there looking like they rolled through a dumpster and whatever stuck to them is their armor. Hey, it's not like those rugraggered npcs are all stylin' post-Armageddon. says lazy bum who does run around in what they found underfoot

AGREED! The game really needs better inquisition soldier armor. I can't wear that or the armor of the dragon because of the same reason... it just looks terrible. Some of the best armor is medium and you can't wear that as a warrior D:

Actually you can get away with probably starting JOH around 18 but it depends really on how good you are at the combat and what level you're playing but on Casual I've found I can usually do the early parts at level 18. I wouldn't recommend taking it all in one go though because you will go through your health potions pretty quickly. But you should be able to do enough to set up the first couple of camps on the map. You just need to make sure you don't go near the high level rifts and you should be fine and by that I mean the one that spawns Pride demons and the rift that's quite near the Hakkonite fortress as that's quite a high level one as well I've noticed as well but you should be able to at least survive long enough to acquire the shield power at least from the island. I say this because those rofts are definitely rated mid 20's for a reason as they really will make short work of you and your team if you're not careful. But the rifts near your camp areas are generally the same level as you so aren't really too much of a threat. The game only suggests level 20 because the lowest rank they can be is 20. But if you have a good handle on the game you probably can take them on a level or 2 lower just be prepared to use a lot of health potions and consider using someone like Casssandra in your party in that she's a tank and can distract a lot of the enemies. Which is a pretty useful talent to have when dealing with enemies of that level.

I played Jaws at level 9. I even defeated the ice giant. Wasn't bad. Once I reached the camp, and talked with the leader, I went back to the main quests. I returned at a higher level to finish Jaws.
Its not hard to reach level 20 without dealing with the dragons especially when including Descent and most of Jaws.
I know if I get too high a level, I wouldn't get any experience points for defeating a couple dragons, namely the one near Redcliffe and the one in Crestwood.
