I couldn't find a thread for this game, might as well make one: Phantom Doctrine is an XCOM-like game set during the height of the Cold War. You play either as the CIA or the KGB. (with a third locked option that probably unlocks after you complete one play-through) It does quite a few things somewhat similarly to XCOM, but there are a few additional elements, like a greater focus on stealth and infiltration, some focus on investigation, and elements of conspiracy. So far I found that I'm enjoying myself. The game isn't a "triple-A", but for the price I'd say that the quality is more than reasonable. Here's a discussion about the game and some gameplay footage: XCOM-like? Isn't that third person stealth iso-metric viewpoint games? I wonder if this was a XCOM clone: Shadow Watch: cdn.pastemagazine.com/www/articles/Shadow%20Watch.jpg

I thought of buying it but found a few decidedly nonenthusiatic reviews, for instance at RPS, so I decided to hold off for now. Thanks for the video, I'll watch it later when I get home.

is that the one where the Berlin Wall still stands in 2029? Looked at that one yesterday but went with a Commandoes-like set in feudal Japan.

Does this title support mods?
I was thinking about buying it, since replaying the same XCOM 2: WOTC campaign is getting a bit stale, but the sheer number of mods in that game keeps pulling me back.

I found a developer post on Steam saying that they want to add mod tools probably after launch. (though, to be fair, it probably won't have the sheer amount of mods XCOM has in any case...) Cool. Looks like I have a game to put on my radar of potential future purchases then.
