Anthem launch times - when is it live for you?

It's certainly not Mark and Jon's fault.

The naming conventions really aren't helping.

• Origin Access
• EA Access
• Origin Access Premier
• VIP access to the demo
• Early access trial

Blame Sony for that, EA went to them for EA Access and Sony responded "its not a good value for our customers" which really meant "we don't want you competing with our heavily panned service".

You never own the game. You enter into license to use it. The only difference is how you pay and how it is delivered.

A MP game basically always runs on a "service" since it needs matches to make, loot to reward, players to connect whathaveyou.

Indeed. And it's no comparison to Evolve when they marketed. They even did some shit like "Hunter Season" Pass and people expected a Hunter "Season Pass".

So with the Demo being February 1st, that will almost run into the Trial/Early Access on the 15th.

It's essentially a 'soft launch' of up to 3 weeks, starting with the people who pre-ordered.

If this is going to be a standard demo and not early access it makes sense to be since demos are sometimes different areas of the game put together.  So you might have an early mission for learning how to play and then jump a hour or so forward.  If I remember correctly with Mass Effect 2's demo you had the tutorial stage and then jumped forward several missions.

How Can I Play the Anthem Demo?

Simple – pre-order now* or join Origin Access or EA Access.

If you’ve already pre-ordered or joined, you’re all set. Just set your calendars for February 1, clear out your schedule, and prepare to discover the world of Anthem.

One important note: if your Origin Access or EA Access membership is not active at the time of the demo, you won’t be able to play the demo. So make sure your membership is current when we get close to the start of the demo.

Yep, I'm sure EA would love for you to have the choice to have a 'PS4 Access' but Sony has already decided on your behalf that you wouldn't like it because it's not good enough value.
