So Ps4 gets the shaft? i see how it is. Man I miss the days when they had one damn edition you slapped some money down for for a preorder.

Blame Sony for that, EA went to them for EA Access and Sony responded "its not a good value for our customers" which really meant "we don't want you competing with our heavily panned service".

I do agree they should rename Origin Access to EA access to simplify the PC/Xbox programs, but other then that one service is a rental service and you don't own the game. The other service gives you a discount and you own the game. Its not like Assassin's Creed and you have over a dozen different variations of the game itself including one that costs $1,000.

You never own the game. You enter into license to use it. The only difference is how you pay and how it is delivered. Technical correction accepted. Yet the level of ownership of a game you buy is stronger (you can play anytime until services are switched off) than a service you need to fund to keep active. So yes you are correct, but I think there is a gradation.

Its delivered the same way with Origin Access and Origin Premium, the difference is one is a complete rental program where you have to keep paying monthly or you lose access even if the servers are still up and the other you only have a one time payment. I still think this chart makes it seem more complicated then what it really is. There are two versions of the game and pre-order bonuses. Some of the Assassin Creed games were far longer and a lot more limiting for there were packages where you had to buy three different versions of the game to have access to all the content unless you were happy with the digital version of the game.

Indeed. And it's no comparison to Evolve when they marketed. They even did some shit like "Hunter Season" Pass and people expected a Hunter "Season Pass".

I just saw the different versions for The Division 2 and the paid bonuses seem to be making people frustrated, such as them not saying what version of the game improves stash space by how much. Now that seems to require a chart.

So with the Demo being February 1st, that will almost run into the Trial/Early Access on the 15th.
It's essentially a 'soft launch' of up to 3 weeks, starting with the people who pre-ordered.

However, save progress from Demo will not be carried forward. I read that somewhere but I can't source it right away, sorry.

If this is going to be a standard demo and not early access it makes sense to be since demos are sometimes different areas of the game put together. So you might have an early mission for learning how to play and then jump a hour or so forward. If I remember correctly with Mass Effect 2's demo you had the tutorial stage and then jumped forward several missions.

So Ps4 gets the shaft? i see how it is. Man I miss the days when they had one damn edition you slapped some money down for for a preorder. There's no EA Access on Sony platforms, so what did you expect? It's kind of like getting mad at Bethesda for not supporting mods on Playstation.

Yep, I'm sure EA would love for you to have the choice to have a 'PS4 Access' but Sony has already decided on your behalf that you wouldn't like it because it's not good enough value.

The good news is that I don't care.
Sony wants exclusiveness, like Amazon's or Disney's streaming services. As a consumer, I won't subscribe to different streaming services to view exclusives.... that is madness. Subscription services are also anathema to me.
Yeah, I have Origin Access but that is because of my DA + ME games. Will I get the demo? Nah.... I'll wait for the reviews + 20%+ off the sale price. ME:A was worth my $39.00.

Why can't I just buy the game... I see charts like this and it's so.. disappointing. That chart makes it seem a lot more complex then it really is. There are two versions of the game the "standard" and the "deluxe" that has a few extra digital things and other then that there is pre-order bonuses that apply to both if anything this feels a lot like what happened in the '90s and '00s where there was the standard and collector's versions and then pre-order bonuses. The other things deal more with Access and its different variations. If you really want complex I give you Ubisoft where they have made it into a wack a mole game and maybe you get what you want.

Can someone pitch EA more convoluted ideas for their membership service?
