I took direct "inspiration" by the Dragon Age Confessions thread here: bsn.boards.net/thread/1200/dragon-age-confessions-thread?page=1Basically any kind of confessions you can think about with your experience in games. For example a confession of mine. My favorite genre of games is RPG and I played lots of them, but I confess (my sin, this unforgivable heresy) I never got the hang in Isometric RPGs I don't know why. (I think Isometric games in general) But i'm trying to, I think when I can figure out "that" something, I will be available to play them, and i'm looking into it as i'm missing a lot of cool games.

Oh my. I never knew that hating isometric games was some kind of heresy. I've never liked them.

I'm not a fan of platformers. Even the slightest bit of platforming in a game is enough to turn me into Michael Jones and that gaming session into an episode of Rage Quit.

I hate crafting. The procedure that precedes it, to be precise. I somehow get it when my character is the one who builds the weapon, but I usually approach a craftsman in games. Seriously, why should I gather the material for a blacksmith to make me a sword? Even a freaking iron?

I take far too much pleasure from not playing fair. As long as I'm not hacking, that is.
But minefields? Heavy AT with high explosive warheads versus infantry? Ambushes? Six-shooter grenade launchers? Artillery? Tomahawk strikes? Air strikes?
There's an inner asshole inside me, and he enjoys fucking with people when and in ways they do not expect it.

I'm into open world games, but I couldnt continue Witcher 3 after ~13 hours into it, this is NOT how the games should start even though its a continuation of the series and what happened in it.

I don’t like those games which are mostly seen from above, don’t know what perspective it’s called but it’s when you can only see your character from above and it’s this tiny piece you’re moving around, I just hate that. I need third person view, cause I need to be able to see my characters somewhat clearly, especially in rpg’s when I have the option to customize them and such.

I don't like any kind of card game as a video game. I don't mind them as mini-games inside a parent game (as long as they're optional to play, anyway), but standalone? Oh hell no.

I love a good story, as well as tactical combat, and deep gameplay mechanics that support the previous two points; be it turn-based RPGs or turn based strategy games. That being said, whenever I encounter a game with a compelling story and rich combat, one of my first thoughts is how I wish I can play this awesome title with friends in a co-op fashion.
I suppose it's because I grew up with siblings and cousins as into game as much as me, and as such we had to all find games growing up with multiplayer or wind up taking turns. It's a bit foolish now that we're all grown, but I do always have a twinge of regret when I see an amazing single player title and then realize that it is truly only for one player.
It might sound oxymoronic, or downright heretical to most members here, but I actually want rich story-driven games to have the option of bringing friends along for co-op campaigns.

With games that offer both a violent and non-violent option to finish a mission (e.g., Deus Ex), I always do the violent one first, going for maximum kill count, let God sort them out later, while promising myself I'll do a second run to experience the non-violent option.
Then I never seem to get around to doing the non-violent run. Well, rarely.
But to balance that confession out, please accept this humble brag: for missions or side quests that have a "best" outcome, usually the "everyone lives" outcome (e.g., DAI's Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, all three rulers working together to help the Inquisition), I seem to stumble upon that outcome more-or-less by accident, in my first blind run with no help from any guides.
Of course, that can only happen when the "best" outcome is either indifferent to max kill count or needed to obtain it.

I confess at the start of games I'm always a good character with the best paladin-like intension, I solve quests not wanting any reward, help NPCS in any way possible, choose reason and diplomacy over violence, choose the plot options that cause the least damage to the world of the game.....and then somewhere throughout the game I start to flip. I start taking money for quests and ask for extras because of the effort it took to solve the quest, pit parties against each other so I can reap the rewards when they kill each other, I do not shy away from conflict and violence and often resort to cruel strategies simply because of entertainment value.
I find to be good, honest and altruistic is the right thing to do, but it eventually bores me, I start to think I deserve better and that I am missing out, my mask slips, I want more power.
In the Baldur's Gate saga I started out as a chaotic good fighter, in Throne of Bhaal I ended up as chaotic evil character, my companions started to hate me, I wore black armor and equipment I got from killing benevolent characters and made myself the new god of murder. When I started the game all I wanted was to prevent the wicked and evil to ascent to godhood, and then I became exactly what I fought in the beginning.
Funnily, when I start off as ''evil'' I don't turn to the good side.
This basically happens in all games I play.
My name is Giant Ambush Beetle, and this was my confession.

Ive never beaten any of the GTA series, I usually end up halfway through them then stop. Red Dead Redemption was the only open-world game that I enjoyed from Rockstar.

I got stuck in the game "The Legend of Dragoon" for like a year at the swamp area. For the life of me I couldn't figure out where I was supposed to go. I even restarted the game from the beginning because I thought I failed to trigger something. Then one day I noticed a path that I originally thought was just part of the background. There was even a sign that said this was the way I was supposed to go, but I somehow missed it all that time. Needless to say I felt like a giant idiot for getting stuck that long over something like that.

For any oldschool isometric style rpg for me to usually get any enjoyment from the gameplay I always have to cheat. They just move too slowly for me so I usually start boost, up character movement speed etc. I enjoy the stories but damn that old gameplay/mechanics are rough.
Oh and according to that quiz I'm a 4th level true neutral rogue..interesting lol

The only computer game I've played where I had absolutely no outside help in any way shape or form was original Myst. I remember being stuck for days because I couldn't figure out how one of the elevators worked. Then I looked up.
Never played a male PC in Shadows of Undrentide/Hordes of the Underdark or NWN2.

During my decades long gaming "career" I've had an issue with rage and breaking things, and among other things, I've broken gamepads, mice (broke one earlier this week in fact), keyboards, a game boy, a cabinet drawer and made two holes in the wall.

Yeah same here, once I was so infuriated by repeatedly losing to the same boss by a margin I ripped my keyboard in half. Didn't break it, I really tore it apart like a stack of paper. Didn't know this was possible until then.
