I've heard this character is a former Dominion Lt. who defected. What role do you think he'll play? Do you think he'll betray us at some point?

Why is BioWare naming a person after a East London town?

The first thing I thought of was Professor Layton. Maybe he'll give us a puzzle where we have to corral 17 grabbits using 5 pieces of rope.
As for whether he'll betray us, Bioware defectors tend to stay -- er... defected. They might return to their place of origin, but tend to be faithful to the protagonist during the game (e.g., Legion, Miranda, Sten, Dorian, Zevran -- ok, maybe Zev isn't the best example). Although this may just apply to companions/squaddies. It'll be interesting to find out.

This is what Leyton looks like now: There are different outcomes to his story depending on what the freelancer says. I really like the way dialogue choices and consequences can work in this game and hope we get more conversations with branching outcomes.

I let him and his wife stay together since they did love each other.
The damage was already done by the time Freelancer find out about the personality imprint and Tassyn "i am hot and will totally torture and shoot you in the back if i think you are a traitor" style didn't seem like the best outcome after what happened. I decided to follow the freelancer way and let him redeem himself by working with his wife at Corvus.

I had him become an asset for Tassyn, with his wife being expelled from Fort Tarsis. For all we know Prism Tacit could kill her in her sleep for whatever reason. This Dominion mind-bending shit is weird, and I can't let that roam free in the Fort if I can help it.

So he is easily one of the more interesting NPCs in the game so far, in my opinion. I really got a chill learning about how... Corvus and the Dominion program and use their spies. In the end I chose to let him stay with his wife. I figured that's the best thing for him anyway, his wife now knows the truth and can decide for herself whether he is worth the risk, and he gets to move on from his past without Tassyn reprogramming him to do more of the same. The Dominion loses power over their asset, as his ties to his wife complicate his programming. Tassyn's line afterwards is pretty funny though... Why she should take the Freelancer's word for it after what happened with Owen, I have no idea, haha.

I ended up revealing who he is to Tassyn, and convincing her to utilize him. Felt completely scummy, but at the same time I don't know these people well enough to make a truly informed assessment. And after I had first "triggered" him, it creeped me out. So I just went with my gut. Hopefully we are able to see further development on this, in later story additions, with two branching effects.

I felt the same way, Coldy. I didn't know him well enough to vouch for him and say that he should be allowed to stay; also, my responsibility to the Fort out-weighed whatever relational status I may have had with him or Nadira. So I convinced Tassyn to allow him to work for her. Plus, as much as I may have begun to like him when we talked....Like you, Coldy, when I first triggered him it did creep me out, and after that I just felt like I couldn't really trust him, and I wouldn't have wanted something bad to happen in the Fort because I said he should stay. And as much as I may have liked Nadira, given that she was a spy by trade and had been influenced by her association with Leyton, I didn't like having the two of them in such close proximity to each other. I also felt that it would be best for her to be as far away from Leyton's influence as possible, so I told her she had to leave the Fort.
I'm just curious (and worried) that the choices I make such as this....well, I'm wondering if there are any consequences and/or far-reaching implications and outcomes that impact the rest of the game. (Does the choice you make in NPC interactions like this really make a difference? Or is it simply a binary choice with no real outcome?) I guess we'll have to wait and see....

His final conversation after I made a similar choice was... depressing... chilling... ugh.

I don't know, but I don't think I would expect to see any major outcomes until the next installment of story content is released. There are some small immediate outcomes. Like if you are rude to the maintenance guy he will decide to leave for Antium and never fixes the water fountain in Fort Tarsis. If you are nice, or at least occasionally helpful, he will decide to stay and he fixes the fountain. If you get a good outcome with Leyton maybe he is a benefit to the Fort in some way. They could follow the example of ME2, in how your dialogue choices effected the relationships (and arguments) between crew members on the ship. Maybe the more people who you have a good relationship with, the more perks you get inside the Fort, and so on. So far we are being rewarded with rep and improvements to the Fort for talking to the NPCs.

The custodiam was right. Fort Tarsis is one acident after the other waiting for happen. Who puts eletric cables over water puddles? By the way, in the happy outcome where he stays with wife they leave Fort Tarsis. So i don't expect to hear from them again other that via some mail.

I turned down almost everything Prindel proposed....Ergo, my fountain has fish but the fish swim in stagnant water and the fountain is there but is not functioning. Basically, the place looks like a pit. (I aim to change that on my second run through the story).

Prindle stayed in my Fort Tarsis and even showed up in someone else's conversation -- now I'm off to make a thread for him to find out what happened to others' Prindles.
