I didn't get the game yet, but is the game short?.....I saw Jeremiah state that his Claire run was done in 3 hours?.... ...I'm the type of person that likes to check EVERYTHING. So two things....are you guys speed running the game or are you actually exploring every nook and cranny? From what i understand the game can be frustrating with Mr X and zombies near impossible to kill. I will most likely play on normal difficulty, because hardcore mode?...lol yeah i'm never touching that....i'm at a point in gaming where i want a challenge but i also want to enjoy the experience. So again this goes to the folks that have finished it or are currently playing it...is the game difficult to grab all items and clear a decent path or do you actually end up leaving items behind due to Mr X chasing you, low ammo and low health? I understand you cannot kill all of the enemies, but at some point i do like to have a somewhat safe path in case of backtracking and watching vids, it seems like zombies have a nice range when leaping at you even when you are trying to avoid them....i've heard lickers are especially lethal and you can get by simply by standing still/walking quietly by them, but that they sometimes walk toward you even if you are standing still.....i still plan on getting this at some point (bills are stiff-arming the s**t outta me at the moment)...but mainly just wanted to know if the game is or has balancing issues in terms game mechanics... i too have heard that RE3 will take priority over R8....i saw a vid on youtube that stated either RE2 was 3 times more popular or 3 times more people was playing it on steam than RE7....Capcom is learning to keep the momentum when it has struck gold, so they would be wise to capitalize on the interest of the RE re-imagining.....i think the reboot would most likely end at 3 since i don't see them touching 4, 5, or 6.....and RE8 will probably be another 1st person game that i will skip just like RE7 (i'm not a fan of 1st person anything)....yeah i know RE7 was good in general, but it's just not my thing...

I didn't get the game yet, but is the game short?.....I saw Jeremiah state that his Claire run was done in 3 hours?.... I can give you a pretty accurate breakdown of my first 4 playthroughs (ish.) 1: Claire "A Run" about 11 hours recorded in game, but about 20-25 hours of actually playing on my part. 2: Leon "B Run" About 8 hours recorded in game, but about 13-14 hours of actually playing on my part. 3: Leon "A Run" about 6 hours by game count. 4: Claire "B Run" about 7 hours by game count. The run I described was my 7th playthrough, so I was refining my efficiency quite a bit by that point.

It depends really. If you want the unlimited ammo weapons, then you must speed run for them (normal and hardcore difficulty have unlockable weapons).

My first time was already on hardcore and it took a bit more than 11 hours (Leon A). That being said you can finish the game in 3 hours or less if you are interested in fast runs and already knows what to do.

Nope. That poster served as a stand in for him. Me thinks Brad will be killed elsewhere in 3make while Nemesis's orginal point of entry into the RPD (window outside of the darkroom) will be changed too.

Also, the men's and women's locker rooms looked like Nemesis went though there. So that could be that, when we first encounter him, it would be inside the RPD.

I did two runs on normal for the true ending. doing everything without running away took me around 8 hours first time and 6 afterward. Mr X can be mentally frustrating but he is easy to get away from specially if you kill everything else possible which i did, without even knifing and i still had extra ammo. Capcom's popularity on Steam started with Dragon's Dogma and now is at an all time high. tech-wise RE2 Remake is one of the smoothest AAA games and Monster Hunter is constantly on top 10 played Steam games with minimum 5 million sale number there although PC still get Monster Hunter dlcs late lol. Highest sold RE games are still 3rd person so maybe R8 ends up being 3rd person. at the time of RE7, first person was picked since it is safer/easier for horror. European devs are more likely to go for first person if given the choice like CDPR's Deus Ex gasm now (The Witcher started as their Bioware gasm). quality-wise RE4 is still amazing but business-wise if they remake it a lot of people will probably still buy it regardless of how they feel so it can happen.

I'm almost positive that I figured out which file I'm missing from a list I found, but I won't be sure until I've done another run.
Does anyone know of a way to check which files you've already found? I didn't see anything in "Records" other than that I'm at 56 out of 57.

... but switch to the remake ost for Fourth Survivor because imo it's Hunk's best theme, and screw that g-mutant at the RPD balcony ladder.
Also, i didn't expect much but was underwhelmed by the Ghost Survivers mode. I wondered how Kendo died, and what his Ghost Survivers' what if scenario hints at was just pathetic.

I didn’t care for 4th Survivor, so I’m not gonna touch any of that. But I’m not kidding when I say that the original soundtrack makes it a whole lot better, it showcases how important the music actually was to the old Resident Evil titles and they did a great job mixing it into the remake.

Agreed. Entering the RPD and hearing the main hall's, the western office's, the eastern hall's, the marshalling yard's, lab, lab escape, Mr.X's, and Birkin's classic OSTs, even the Resident Evil 2 start menu, hit me right in the feels. While RE2 remake had a track that i liked (Hunk) i noticed something about most of Capcom's games that were released during the last decade, their OSTs were lacking (SFV).

So I started as Leon, first RE ever for me. Gotta say, survival horror ain't my thing usually, not because I scare easily or something like that, simply because I don't see the appeal. But this one is actually really cool. The AJ review kinda convinced me. Lots of backtracking, but it's fine, it allows you to get familiar with the map. The game does a fantastic job not holding your hand, but at the same time it gets rid of frustrations by telling you if the area you're in is clear or you might be missing an item, love it. I'm playing it on normal and goddamn, it takes like 5 shots to the head to kill each zombie. I already missed a couple of shots and feel bad about it. Just got into a fight with the first boss, that was intense. Trying to just avoid combat when I can, I know ammo is supposed to be scarce (perhaps not so punishing in normal difficulty, but I'm cautious). Already had to use pen and paper to solve a puzzle, that feeling of accomplishment you don't get these days in other games.
I have a question though, after you leave the police station to go to the underground, can you go back? because I have a lot of rooms that I can't access and I already found every item, so clearly I need a key that is not available in that station (the map shows everything else as clear).

If you are playing on the PC the knife is comically overpowered due to it's damage output being scaled to the framerate. Mind you even on consoles it's strong like knifing up the first boss to death or stunlocking lickers, but on PC it's godly, and yeah you go back. Plus if you are playing as Leon any room that's locked by a Heart key is Claire specific content, and unattainable while the Club key is Leon Specific.

Yes. You'll have to. Although with Leon there's still a couple of rooms you won't be able to get into.

Yeah I remember that being mentioned in AJ's review, some rooms are character specifics. The knife being tied to framerate is a weird bug, I have the game locked at 60 fps on PC. I'm surprised how well optimized it is. I only ever used the knife for counters (broke one actually, I have a second knife now). Can you actually kill by slashing? got the impression that it was useless for that.

You'll be able to still access the police station up until the point where you activate the tram to go to the final area.
