I finished Odyssey a few days ago. It was fun to complete another run with Alexios. He remains my definitive favorite of the protagonists, though Kassandra is extremely well acted. I love Melissanthi as Deimos.
Anyway, I metagamed the heck out of Atlantis. Knowing the end would come regardless of my actions, I chose many easy/lazy options, and reaped the crappy and just outcomes of those actions. It cast a negative pall over the PT, for a time. Near the end, I still made the more heroic and compassionate choices, and so ended on a more positive note.
I never did play a few of the LToG in this PT, including Sokrates' Trial. Things just felt complete after Atlantis. Running errands in Phokis, even for Sokrates, just didn't feel necessary.
My Alexios ended at Level 99 + 84 Mastery Levels, IIRC. I'd forgotten how fast the skill points pile up in TFoA. By the end, I was investing in perks that are luxuries rather than core build features. If I use this save in yet another NG+, the breadth of OP abilities will be pretty insane. My All-rounder Assassin is brokenly powerful. (In skimming the thread, I saw that the crit-focused builds caught on while I was away. My Assassin is a crit build with highly optimized Epic gear. It's good at everything.)
I think I'll end up playing a staff-focused Hunter next time, whenever that is. I am wrapping up "Jedi: Fallen Order", at present. Then, I'll begin the "stack" of games I bought with PSN's Black Friday prices. As good as Odyssey is, I'm happy to have some fresh options. I'll return to Greece with Alexios, eventually. It's simply a matter of time.

Though the voice actor for Alexios didn't do *bad* in either instance, maybe a little over the top.

Ironically enough I liked how I was playing Kass and built her more then Alexios so that is probably where the dividing line is going to be.

Which was perfect for my second PT - going with Alexios and "I am a God", "Show me the money!", "Obey or die...you know what, just die" lines every chance I got. He sells it really well. It works so nicely in situations like with Darius when the old man asks for subtlety and Alexios agrees...then takes out his flaming sword and charges in while riding the winged Phobos. "What can I say, Darius, I did my best, but they saw me". You can tell by the voice how much Alexios gave a malaka about it On the other hand, who would believe that a single guy with a flaming sword on a flying horse took down a whole Spartan fort. Subtle, amirite?

Subtle, amirite? You know, I realised I have problems with Alexios because I don't like his rough theatrical manner whenever he speaks. What you said gives me the idea I should try him again and choose all the bad dialogue choices and let him rip as an uncivilized brutish misthios.

colfoley, I love Melisanthi's Deimos. She nails it perfectly. She's phenomenal as Kassandra as well. I really like Alexios as the protagonist. His tone is hilarious. He's sarcastic, more than goofy, to me. Michael's face-acting is amazing. His smirks, eyerolling, etc... are always just right. Alexios is a bit over-the-top early on, but he levels out fairly early in the game. I think he's better in the emotional moments than Kassandra. Alexios-as-Deimos is just pure rage. It's hard to imagine him being redeemable. I'm not sure Deimos should be redeemed, and Alexios-Deimos makes me lean toward "no". Kassandra-Deimos is equally horrible, of course, but seems less enraged and more unhinged. If Deimos can be saved, Kass-Deimos seems more likely. My head is killing me. I hope this post has been coherent and not too rambling. I'm going to log off. Later, friends.

I am curious about something and new to Odyssey. Right now I am level 20 and wondering what would be the best approach to my skills, should I focus in one disipline or have a more balanced approach. I have mostly focused into Assassination with taking Warrior skills for more armor and shield attacks and also three points in Hunter for the different arrow types.

Second time around I went very much full on Assassin and Critical damage (using The Pirate Set) but to make myself less squishy I used engravings etc. in some defensive stuff like Armour, chance to ignore damage as well as adding damage to my weapon of choice the sword. As you want to take down people quickly I also used engravings to etc. to make Rush Assassination as strong as possible and same with Assassination Ability damage so I didn't even have to enter into combat. I also stacked damage for Heroic Strike as a melee combat option. Here's my build at one stage not sure when I took the shot Kass the One Hit Wonder!!!!!

Shadow of Nyx is also really helpful if you want to easily stealth you way through areas. On the Hunter side, Multi-Shot (almost essential for boarding ships and large battles) and Ghost Arrows of Artemis (for shooting through walls and things hiding in caves). On the Warrior side, Battlecry of Ares is great. With a good crit build, you can kill most opponents in the opening explosion if you activate it close enough. Great for bosses too.

I forgot about Ghost Arrows, they were my saviour first PT and I used them more sparingly 2nd PT but they are just really useful in some situations. Probably better I stopped using them due to "collateral" damage!!!!! Cannot remember how many horses I killed by accident!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback. I have to progress a little further until I have another rank of Rush Assassination available so I am just having two targets at once right now. I do find Rush Assassination and Hero Strike are my two most used abilities. Not high enough level yet for Shadow of Nyx, but I was planning on taking it once I had it available to me and respeccing at that same time.
I will keep my eyes open for improving my critical chance and damage with gear and engravings. I have been focusing more on Assassin Damage primarily, but I think going for all three will give me what I am looking for. I did find once I hit 20 there was a sudden spike with enemy damage for I wasn't have any problems and then once I did it became a little more challenging.

Even on the highest difficulty you can 1-shot most enemies with Hero Strike if specced right. Crit chance and especially Crit damage are huge in that. Also helpful is the Cooldown reduction.
Don't go for Mastery upgrades until you are satisfied with your ability setup. When you have enough money, open up the extra slots for outfits and build yourself different specialized suits. My usual ones are an Assassin suit, Hunter suit, Warrior suit with a Fire and Crit variation for the Warrior and an extra Assassin suit that has infinite Shadow of Nyx usage - for fun and lulz. You can change the outfits even during combat, so it's very adaptable for every situation.

After finishing Syndicate before my Christmas hiatus (and trying to play the Jack the Ripper DLC but not really getting hooked on that one), I figured I'd finally get around and play the AC:Odyssey DLCs. However, then I thought after a year and 3 months of not touching the game it might be weird to just jump into the DLCs, so I started an NG+ game instead. To spice things up a little, I am now playing on hard difficulty and I chose Alexios instead of Kassandra (who was my first PT PC). I also want to do a more condensed playthrough, rather than the insane completionist "explore every single location on the map" PT I did last year). First of all, they still didn't patch in a feature I've been asking for since the release of Origins (here, in the Ubisoft forums, everywhere, no one ever listened). And that is to be able to toggle off the stupid question mark symbols in the compass. All you can do is to toggle off the compass entirely but I don't like that because it is nice to see which direction you are going sometimes and it's also important to see if you just entered a forbidden area that will make guards hostile. Why can't we keep the compass and all that and just turn off those freaking location markers? It should be the easiest thing to program. Anyway, apart from that, NG+ is kinda cool although I feel like leveling is a bit pointless since I am already way above the max level for all the areas (I am 71 atm). So enemies basically just level with me all over the world and there is no feeling of progression at all anymore apart from getting new options for abilities here and there. It would have been better if NG+ also rescaled the world areas (have lower level enemies early on but also have level 80 or 90 enemies in later areas). On the plus side, this does allow me to do a more condensed PT and no longer worry too much about having to farm XP. So now, I stick to the main plot and the yellow side quests and ignore everything else (well, sometimes I will clear a location I come across if I feel like it). The hard difficulty is no problem in NG+. I am already in Athens now and I died maybe twice so far even though I did have to re-learn the controls a little. I am glad that assassinations can still kill lower tier enemies outright and severely damage elites and bosses. That maintains the viability of stealth gameplay and it is really rewarding to clear a fort, ruin or cave that way. As for the PC, I liked Kassandra much much better than Alexios. For some reason, I don't really like his voice actor while Kassandra's did a marvelous job IMO. Granted, I do play him as a "good guy" whereas with her, I played the more fun route of fairly ruthless egocentric merc who treated life as a game and had sex with everyone. But still, I feel like Alexios' voice is too .... grandiose might be the right word? Anyway, I'll play through the main plot with him to remind myself how it all went down (though so far I find that I remember my old PT very well and thus know in advance what's gonna happen in almost every cutscene). I think for the DLCs I might actually switch back to Kassandra's old save file. One thing I want to try this time around is to get the family back together. With Kas, I think I let Nikolaos live but killed Alexios. Well, we'll see how it goes.

With the levelling for me it was all about getting the extra mastery points, you can become an insanely lethal assassin!!!!!!! One hitting L99 merc's is just way too much fun. I loved Kass as well and her VA, Alexios's voice just seemed to be put on with that "macho" tone so I never completed my NG+ PT with him. And ye it's great being able to just pick and choose what you want to do rather than complete every quest on the map, my NG+ PT was at least 4ohr shorter I think. With saving them all there are some very specific choices you have to make re talking to Myrinne, Alexios. Nikalaos and also how you complete the quests that involve Myrinne and Brasidas I think.

I agree with Alexios's voice actor. It just didn't work for me even just a couple of hours in so I am pretty sure all my playthroughs will be my playing Kassandra.

With Kas, I think I let Nikolaos live but killed Alexios. Well, we'll see how it goes. I am still playing my first game of Odyssey for I got into it later then others for I just couldn't find enough time. Now I make sure I log in once a day and even just do one of the random missions in the game so I have made a habit logging into the game once per day. The days where I have more time I will make larger stretches, but I am taking the same approach you did for your first playthrough and doing everything. So I have just finished up all the exploring around Athens and about to move on next time I can dedicate time to play. Now my playstyle is mostly stealth because I keep screwing up my parries and dodges (mostly my dodges) for instead of rolling out of the way I will use my ability that is mapped to X (on my X-Box Controller). I have gotten enough skill points that I have Second Wind so at least I am healing myself when I screw up getting out of the way.

So I beat the vanilla game of Odyssey like pffft, half a year ago? Give or take but I never touched the dlc add ons till a few days ago. I just couldn't till I got more stuff out of the way with other fames that came out. I pretty much have the first blade episodes out of the way, it looks like I might have like one or two more things left post getting kassandra's kid back (although she doesn't keep him long sending him off with Darius). I'll move onto Atlantis nextππ My take on the first blade: I do dislike having the forced relationship with Nakatas? Idk how it's spelled and then the kid. That said how it all concludes left me feeling fir my Kassandra nevertheless. I'd be devastated losing people I care about and having my kid stolen, and I was glad to get epidios back, but I really feel for Kassandra in regards to coming to the conclusion your kid just won't ever be safe with you. I loved the VA for Kassandra and it was heart breaking to me. I know it's all fiction but still lol, it would destroy me having to do that and not being involved in your kids life even if it's for the best ultimately. I liked the inclusion of the Persians as well but I disliked them just bringing in another cult π€· that's lazy design to me. The combat was fun but I was already high level and it's to easy when you already have all the abilities I never used the ecryptions at all till now and my God did they REALLY give me a big power boost. The flame thrower on my ship was also nice as I enjoyed burning ships to Amber π

AC: Syndicate was free on the Epic Store, so I've been playing that for the last week. I'm about... oh... 1/3 of the way through, and so far, so good. The story, characters, the city, and combat are good. The grapple-gun is great (when it works... ), and the main missions (so far) have also been fun. Where it kinda slides - the repetitive side missions and busy-work. London seems to be suitably busy, with crowds, carriages everywhere, and an almost ridiculously busy Thames. Having your own train constantly circling the city was also a neat idea. I do feel like a hypocrite in this game though. Side activities include tackling thieves (including children), stopping murderers, rescuing children from factory labour... only to have children stealing for you, while you are out murdering & robbing people in the streets. Also really miss having a Photo Mode, but alas...
